Rob that 55 is so amazing, you are going to win every car show you attend, you do awesome work, and your attention to details is incredible,I have watched every video you have done
Rob,You should be very proud probably a once in a lifetime hard earned personal achievement for sure. The only problem I have and that just me with the car is I would be scared as hell to drive it,LOLL! My 55 is a dailydriver you seen it and Im scared to drive it too.Well I guess you get over that in time and just have good insurance...Looking fwd to seeing the flippers, hood, seat trim etc done in due time .. car is stunning.................Is it getting a chrome hoodbird??????
It has been a true pleasure to follow your update videos and reports on the progress of this magnificent build. Brother you have some skills and the patience of ol King Solomon himself! Thanks for sharing…now get onto the wife’s grocery getter! 👍
All the time and effort shows through in every aspect of this beautiful 55. You should be proud. Speaking from personal experience of restoring my car it must feel good being towards the end of the project and looking back. Excellent job!
Beautiful. I love Tri-Fives, own a 57 (55's always my favourite, probably the cleanest, sleekest, possibly the best car design from The Big Three in the 20 century) Been watching you work on this since I tripped over your show, probably a year & 1/2 ago? Attention to detail, all the little hidden things using stock Chev styling cues, stunning. Your cold air setup, all the brackets, covers, fasteners, etc, Love it. Great job...& it looks drivable.
I am 100% digging your car. Each detail you put in it is pure attraction to tri five guy's. It's like hunting for easter eggs for grown ups. I have to say that I really love the glass you put in. It gives it the finishing touch towards excellence. Thank you for sharing.
Outstanding job on the build man! Your 55 is so cool and turned out great! It's also really cool to have a video on the car for reference in years to come. Have a good one Buddy 👍
Absolutely amazing job! Your attention to details is incredible. You should do very well in car shows with your 55. Congratulations on your accomplishment.
The old 55 came out super nice definitely something to be proud of. One of the nicest and what's even better you did it all your self. Very cool nothing like a 55 Chevy. Take care man 👍🏻🇺🇲
Man when I thought I knew all of the details from watching your videos there always seems to be more. That’s fantastic ! Thanks for taking us on this ride with you. The hinges look fantastic The way that you shaped and added metal to the doors so that the side of the car would be completely straight. It’s beautiful. You should be proud of it and everyone that sees it should be as well. And the front air damn I hope you don’t mind but I totally want to do that on my 56 and on my dad’s 55.
Just flat out amazing work! I know tri-fives and I don't even know where to begin on the multitude of great subtle changes here! I like the hiding of the fasteners in many places such as the inner fenderwells and the radiator support side panels. of all the times I've cut my hands on those screws! The smoothing or reversing of those fasteners is really nice! I have always liked the idea of building a bigger cubic inch engine and making it look like a factory 265 or 283. We had a guy at the drags with a '32 Ford with a factory look and badged 283 Chevy in it. It was a 406 in disguise and the car ran in the low 11's... a sleeper for sure! The headlights being moved back instead of bulging out of the headlight bezels was something I had always wanted to fix from the factory! The dash is another great improvement with eliminating the ash tray/lighter and using the auto-tronic eye as a shift light is really a brilliant idea! The gauges having the bow tie background and the needles painted in neon makes the dash pop and really more readable as well as unique. I also like the hammer tone paint and crest on the heater box. The tissue dispenser is another great updated idea! The subtle attention to detail and patience to complete the work would blow the mind of any tri-five guy if he were to look long enough! Just seeing the car when you started to where it is today is a feat within itself! I have painted cars before but, never done upholstery. It is amazing that you tackled all the work yourself! I don't think I could have ever had the patience to do upholstery. Saying that you did an amazing job on this hardtop does seem to say enough about the work you did! After 10 years, I hope you and your wife are really able to enjoy the fruits of your labor on this beauty! Keep up the outstanding work and take care!
You should be doing this professionally lol such a beautiful ride. I'm working on mine now! And your videos have taught me a ton. Don't stop making vids!
Man, so beautiful and love the workmanship! So is it going to be a driver or more show car? I know you spent a ton of time on the chassis and it’s gonna get dirty and maybe chipped if you drive it.
Thank you. I plan on showing it this season then it will be driven almost daily. For sure not going to keep it hidden in the garage worrying about every little thing that could happen to it. It's a machine that can always be fixed.
Has to be one of the best "garage" builds around. Would absolutely love to see this car in person. All your personal custom touches are excellent. 2 questions. 1. on the brake master cylinder. That is manual brakes? What size bore and how do you like manual brakes? I have power brakes but hate the look of the booster. 2. Is your steering box a stock box? Congratulations on a very High end build.
Need some help. Trying to find an original gm used door mirror for my 55 sedan belair. Going patina style. Can’t find gm part numbers for an original, seem to be finding repops. Also need info on correct location mounting on the door, brackets and hardware. Thanks for any help
David, I don't know of any original door mirrors around locally. I'm unsure on stock location of the mirror to the door. I will say for anyone going to mount a door mirror on a tri 5 car= if you have to drill holes, be sure the wing (vent) window will open without hitting it. I'm wondering if my junk yard videos of the tri 5 cars show any door mirrors?
This is absolutely over the top!!! If you had said it was done by one of the popular shops on TV everyone would believe you!! OUTSTANDING!!!
Rob that 55 is so amazing, you are going to win every car show you attend, you do awesome work, and your attention to details is incredible,I have watched every video you have done

Exceptional is an understatement.
Your an inspiration. That car is gorgeous I would have thought Dave kindig built it.
Thanks Kreg. Kindig would have done all leather with bucket seats, a new chassis, and LS under the hood. Lol
Great job!
Thank you very much.
wow! your creativity and attention to detail is amazing!! definitely going to take a couple things for my collection project!!
Thank you Sunshine
cool
Sweet ride.
Thank You Douglas
Very impressive...would love to see it at the Tri Five Nats this year.
It's just too dang far for me to go. I went in 2015 to the first one. Thanks for watching

One word.. WOW!
Appreciate you watching DR
That’s a really nice car. I know you’ve worked your fanny off getting to this point.

I don't mind the manual brakes and steering. Stock steering box. Master cylinder is 15/16 but would go one inch for firmer pedal
Your car is absolutely beautiful . Cam I drop mine off lol
Hello, a 1955 Chevy Nomad rear bumper would like nice on your car. Enjoy your videos.
I don't like Nomad rear bumpers with the indent for the plate. That's why I built it the way I did.
Great job, can you give us an estimate of how much you spent for the restoration?
Is a project like this every “really” done? Especially how meticulous you are!! I do love this car and you ought to be proud
Thanks AJ. It will be pretty much done because of other projects
Beautiful car!!!!! Where did you get the battery operated clock? I would love to have one for my 57.
Thank you Clinton. I made it. There's 2 videos in my Playlist under Tri 5 Tech Tips
Nice stance what's the wheel size
Are you going to put the front fender chrome spears on the side of the fender onto the door??
no

No it's not. That's actually my cousins name he uses for his shop. Lol
I love it!
