Yeah I think there is some randomness to it but I do think night is the best time to catch them. You could be right though. Thanks for bringing this up!
Blue Flopper: Ocean shore at dawn Blue Small Fry: Rivers and streams Green Floppers: Lakes in any biome Orange Flopper: Literally anywhere Black and Blue Shield Fish: Shore, grasslands, Dry valley Cuddle Jellyfish: ocean floor during the day Purple Thermal Fish: Dry Valley lakes at night Thermal Raven Fish: Only at night in dry valley lakes and shores Silver Thermal Fish: Frostlands lakes at night Slurp Jellyfish: Ocean mostly at night Blue Slurpfish: Grassland lakes Molten Spicy Fish: Dry Valley at night Purple Slurpfish: Frostland lakes Yellow Slurpfish: Dry land lakes Vendetta Flopper: Grassland caves
The only time I caught purple thermal fish was in the ocean on the sandy shores. I got on one of those rocks out to sea and fished in the ocean without any BAIT in the dark. I used a rare fishing rod. It took about 4 to 6 nights. I was after the illuminator charm.
1:40 Confirmed; fished in a Dry Valley lake at night standing on a pillar in the middle of the lake (epic rod and epic bait). Took three nights, got 1 Raven Thermal Fish out of 127 fish.
It's super random, I just tries at sun down, nothing but tried at dawn and got a legendary flopper, I was using an epic bait bucket and epic pole. Good luck.
thank u so much i caught 13 silver thermal fish - any advice on sourcing brightcore? I depleted the desert caves and now my only option is to fish or kill skeletons in desert/ice caves
It's unfortunate brightcore doesn't respawn. I suppose you could maximize your brightcore yield by fishing at night for Thermal fish and kill cave skeletons during the day. Hopefully they'll make it a little easier to get brightcore in the future.
The best thing you can do is to farm Silk, Flexiwood, and Copper Bars (asking your villagers to work to give you these resources by processing wood, weaving, and smelting metal), and then when you have enough to make around 30-40 jump platforms, explore your map in search of another Desert biome that you haven't explored yet. Create a path of jump platforms to it, and then it's as simple as going there and back, farming the 500-700 Brithcore in each of the 10-20 caves in that desert.
Cool. Well, actually it's fishing....and fortnite....AND LEGO, all at the same time, so a perfect storm of UNcool. But I'm trying to get all the legendary fish while i wait for vehicles to not explode or randomly despawn, and for the build limit to be raised, and the rubber banding to be fixed. Gotta pass the months and years somehow!
I suppose time will tell how Lego Fortnite turns out. It has a lot of potential. It is an unfortunate start with updates being underwhelming and adding kits that cost an absurd $20 lol. We'll see how it goes but I agree it is a good way to pass the time!
1:56 this one is wrong. I literally just caught one during noon.

Explore further in the dry valley. It's a pain but I made new villages the further I go out and later move what I need to my main village.

Bright core should respond over time like the other under surface resources
Thanks for the help, I just subscribed.
Such good info 🥳
