Easy. Mount them on your wall! There is an unlocked crafting recipe in your build menu Under decorations Under wall decorations you can craft a mounted fish with “only” the legendary fish as a fishing trophy.
Lucky to get a legendary flopper. My friend and I were grinding so hard for the legendary flopper and we didn't get it. So we ended up checking youtube. I will check the desert biome same way you did and hopefully I can get a legendary flopper. Great video 👍

That's about all you can do! I have been GRINDING to get legendary of everything, I now have all the floppers, only missing 2 of the thermal fish now. Gonna post a video with all the rare catches once I knock out those last 2 but I've easily spent 25+ hours just fishing lol
I dont doubt you can catch them like that, I've never tried common fishing spots as I've had plenty of material for epic bait buckets, but I have over 30 legendary orange floppers lol
I wish I could find out what the fishing NPC does 😭 I can’t find a straight and good answer. I read he has the ability to fish with you but I haven’t seen Bob or the NPC in the video fish or do anything 😔
After one month of fishing i just catched a legendary blue floper, i had crab beside me he was eating the fish that i don’t want and guess what , I’m done

Yea I hate it I got so many shields from it and I don’t need any of them I got my epic shield
