If anyone gets the chance to watch Paul smith live, do it. Had me in tears the whole way through his performance. He’s going to go so far!
I’ve just found his videos on TikTok literally today and I have binge watched it , he’s hillarious , I was hurting crying with laughter 🤣
I found him 3 days ago. I am from Serbia and having hard time understanding everything but more I watch the more Scouse I am becoming :) Paul is so funny I am dying laughing even with 20% of what I understand. But his character is what I get 100%. So natural, so intelligent. I just think that he is destined to perform in UK because of his accent. And I think its not bad at all. I am thinking to fly over to Liverpool to see him. I am sure I am not the only one..
If you guys wonder how on earth someone from Serbia would watch Paul, answer is simple - we as people have so much in common. Humor especially. Only fools and horses are the most watched show here after the UK I think. Cheers from Belgrade!
@@lunatico981 great to hear you guys enjoy British shows such as only fools and horses, Its a great show and I didn't expect you to mention that living in Serbia, very interesting
@@martiangod Late John Challis was a regular guest here. There is a documentary ‘Boycie in Belgrade’ :)
@@lunatico981 crazy, ill give that watch, thank you, always interested in stuff like this.
All the best 👍
The first James English pod that I've seen a guest make James open up. Fair play lads
This genuinely made me feel better. I consider my life to be shit and going nowhere but its nice to hear 2 fellas just talking about real genuine problems.
Stay strong my brother
Been there buddy. Every remarkable person that you’ve ever heard of - has felt this way. And then done something about it. Set little achievable goals for yourself, make that phone call that you’ve been putting off. Good luck 🙏🏻
I’ve listened to 20 mins of this and have already taken so much away.
@@BenjiBs4 glad to hear mate. I’m doing 1 million times better than a year ago. Life does get better and nothing lasts forever
Hearing Paul talk about his son's autism on stage was great for me as another autism dad, most people will think he's over exaggerating or making stuff up because they have no experience with it but his stories really hit home and make me laugh because I've experienced everything he's talked about and it's soo hard, it's amazing to hear someone see the funny side of it and share it 👍
I'm in the same boat pal n I agree with wat u say 100% it made me think differently, went to see him in Leeds wen he was in town n it was a great nite if uve not seen him live go n do it u won't be disappointed 😊
Used to gig with Paul back when I lived in the UK. Even over a decade ago he was knocking it out of the park. He was a gent off stage, too. Glad to see he's getting the attention he deserves!
Selling weed ya mean yh think I got a few grams from the same park didn't realise it was Paul though 🧐😂
J shaw shut up
@@redeyemc You missed the joke I think mate
@@redeyemc He said Paul used too knock it out the park..childish joke about selling weed from a park..he loves a weed joke i was only joining in lol
@@redeyemc redeyemc your name bro...send us some stoner bars bro I listen mate
One of the best podcasts I’ve seen in a long time both opening up and relatable to the average joe with fears insecurities and on the other hand ambitious dreams 🙏🏼

I’m about 6 podcasts deep and it’s truly changing my life. I now know I’m not the only one with these mad thoughts! Seeing insight to other peoples lives is massive & I wish you all the luck in your journey 💯💯💯
The honesty and introspectivness of these two is breathtaking props for this discussion both of you are legends in my book
James I’ve watched loads of your interviews and I’ve never been disappointed by any of them, your patience in the pace of your questions and the responses you give make for great interviews

Your honesty was unbelievable there Paul. Best guest James has had the fortune to have on his show, it left him floundering at times 👏🏼👏🏼
‘That tells me your not in a good place bro’ so honest and open, something we all need to do, be open with people, open up about your feelings, open up about everything, theirs nothing wrong with talking about how you’re feeling, theirs always someone who’ll want to sit and listen to what you’ve got to say.
Love watching Paul. I see clips on Facebook and I'm in stitches. Well done mate.
❤ The best podcast ive ever listened to. Both brutally honest, a great insight, beautifully delivered. Helpful, insightful, fun, brilliant and wonderfully honest. Broken but geniuses. The world is a better and more brilliant place with you two in it. Cheers lads. Flawless. 👊
Excellent interview! Paul is such an authentic fella
James this is exactly what we need mate, honesty. Saying when you hit a wall helps others realise our journey can be flawed. We don't want fakes, which is why this channel is so successful and will be even bigger over time. Serious just keep doing what you are doing, if this channel helps me I know it helps others.... "Work in progress!" 👊✌
Thanks for the support gaz
So true we all wear a mask this interview has brought some realisation for me same as you james in my 20s sat in my flat going through heart ache with family an a ex an drinking every day being a fake trying to pull birds so ... yeah glad I come across this video mate
Quality podcast James - we went to see Paul mid December and he was pure class., laid into me proper! Real belly laughs the whole show. What a honest approachable bloke, loved this podcast.
I went to see Paul Smith In Liverpool 3 years ago, he was hilarious, looking forward to watching this
This man is the most funnest and straightforward bloke in the country today I'm 65 he makes me laugh my head head off we need more like him honest x
I just started watching Paul a couple weeks back and he’s just appeared on my favourite podcast. Class boys , well done
James another amazing podcast as always. Absolutely loved this. A big fan of you both. You and Paul should do this again. A pleasure to watch and hear your stories.
I'm a recovering addict from Scotland living in a treatment centre in Birmingham and I identified alot with that share. Its mad we get comfortable sitting in discomfort I.e alcohol and drugs
The similarities are that we look for instant gratification by buying things like watches expensive clothes and cars.
What' a great episode James 🙏👊
❤️
I've recently come across Paul's stand ups & find him hilarious. This Podcast is brilliant ❤
Absolute quality interview as always some real advice being spoken by both guys i certainly will be taking it on board deffo
Happy new year Ian
Happy new year james
Profound how much I can relate to what your talking about. From a crazy youth to self awareness and improvement. The honestly you speak with is unbelievably refreshing, thank you!
By far the best podcast yet . Stay away from the screwball gangster glue pots 😉
Fantastic podcast. I'm going to see Paul in Birmingham in Feb and I'm really looking g forward to it!
Gassed for this , your podcasts keep me going through the days and keep me occupied , top man can't wait for the book too
This was absolutely brilliant, Paul is such a great comedian and the best at his kind of comedy, a great insight to his life and some struggles. 1st video I've watched of yours but will certainly be watching more.
What an episode very relatable. Love Paul Smith, funniest guy around for me and comes across so well and genuine, like an old funny mate! James is so good at making the interviews real. Cheers
Paul your an absolute legend of a guy! Watch and love all your stuff, and you come across as an absolute gentleman, keep killing it brother!

I could have listened for another 4 hours. 👏👏👏
Absolutely fantastic. Two guys being honest .loved this
Most favourite guest you've had on. Very deep discussion. From listening i get the vibe that its the journey to the goals that you love and make you happy and not reaching the goal itself.

@@JamesEnglish Thank you James
I wish you both peace of mind, all the love in the world and all the laughter to carry us all on through. Thankyou for such a raw podcast. Thank you for making our world a much happier one. I literally pmnn at you Paul(am gerrin on now). Much love and respect to you both xxx
Paul, @35 mins you just made me properly understand what it is to incorporate your shadow! I’ve been trying to understand it for so long but couldn’t. Thank you
Such honesty. Brilliant
I grew up on the estate (page moss) across the field from canny farm (Stockbridge village) and I can tell you now it was a tough estate canny farm back in the day...its great to see one of the lads come out of that estate and do so well. We all in some way struggle with mental health problems and it's true that it defines us in great ways as characters if we can learn to accept those issues.
Such a great podcast this was, I've never seen James open up with a guest about his own issues with such confidence...these two guys will surely be great friends forever more. Thanks to both of you for sharing your time and great words.
Good luck to the both of you lads for the future.
I had no idea you interviewed Paul. I bloody love him, absolutely hilarious. Kills me and always has me in bits. My cup of tea and my mission is to see him this year. Great lad, great stories and witty as hell. A born natural comedian. Top interview James ❤ both amazing men who i both admire and relate to.
Class Podcast! The pure rawness & honesty makes this podcast unreal.
100% keep cracking on with this kind of grade A quality content and you’ll reach the stars for sure! 👍
Thanks brother ❤️
17 years I was at it, I took drugs not to have a good time but to forget my past turned out once I finally got sorted found out I suffered with ptsd and had to have therapy sessions which were pretty hard but they really helped now I'm a support worker helping other people with there addictions alot of people who have suffered at the hands of addiction find its trauma based and taking drugs or mind altering substances helps them either escape reality or dims down what's happened to them but this being said the problems still there tomorrow when you wake up and I don't know about you guys but I hated coming down off drugs not just because I knew the problems were going to be there but coming down I wanted to just die now I'm 3 years sober studied for a year so I could work in rehabilitation which I always wanted to do
Im only 20 minutes in so far and the pair of you have described what i assume at one point or another is every mans thoughts in regards to how they feel with themselves and if they are being a good parent and a good spouse. It shows that you're human and i relate to it shit loads! Good on ye's❤
❤️❤️
You have changed the game james When I was introduced to podcasts it was always joe rogan but since my mate told me about your podcast I’m addicted because you bring story’s which ordinary people like me never hear about! Love how real you are and how no matter who the guest you give them a chance to give they’re story and that’s impressive mate! also we learn about your story within these talks you have. I’ve followed you for a while now and your story is more inspiring than any! keep your foot on the pedal and don’t slow down because your killing it mate!
Boss this Paul smith is an absolute legend, I always see him down the school but feel ashamed going over to him for some reason. Favourite comedian at the min 💯 he’s just so down to earth an he’s dead funny I’m addicted to all his vids on here🔥👌🏻
I know so many that rely on retail therapy for fake personal gratification....you've hit the nail on the head again James with your spin on things...happiness is a state of mind.
Stay humble !!
Found Paul on RUclips a few months ago absolutely brilliant comedian funnier than anyone on tv by a mile
Awesome interview, really been going through the same circles meditation, dmt, questioning reality. Enjoy the journey namaste 🙏
That was well worth a listen. Relatable and helpful in many ways and very interesting. This is my favourite thing I've seen with paul smith in and he's got some bloody funny videos!
Cheers lads😎
Great interview guys. Respect to you both ❤️☮️
James doing ayahuasca for his documentary was a good watch. And Paul is deffo one of if not the best comedians in the UK for sure. Great podcast. Well done.
James, this is so relatable..why is it that when you get to where you never thought you could get to it’s never enough & it doesn’t bring you the satisfaction or happiness you dreamt it would…there is always something else…makes you crazy!!!!
Definitely mate but it’s life we always wanting something out of it I guess
This says it was uploaded 2 years ago. But so nice in how the world is today, to see two men talking openly and honestly about their struggles and pressures they feel. Men don’t get enough credit for the pressure they are put under.
(Any reason why this isn’t on Spotify under James’ podcast?)
We need more of this stuff. You 2 need to do another asap! Great listen
Who else's search bar now says "Dave Allen, Teaching kids' the time"? Thanks for this PC James and Paul. Appreciate it.
"Ego is ok....when its false...its a problem"....great interview
Definitely one of the best pod casts to date. Both good genuine lads and good to hear how they feel about things
What a man patters brill been watching him for ages brill pod 👍 👏 👌 💯🙏🏻
Thanks 🙏🏼 one of the best, real, open, and most importantly truthful interviews I have ever listened too. Brill 👍🏼
I'm drinking alcohol now. It's 1540 here in northern Ireland. I suffer from depression and anxiety. But your discussing cars at this point on the video. My favourite car was my mitsubishi carissma. And before when I was making money as a car validator I drove a brand new Citroen Saxo. The mitsubishi brought me the most joy.
Another boss one James lad and Paul’s a scream 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Cheers mate
James I've been following you for a while now mate, you're doing one hell of a job mate. 👏
Only 20 minutes in and such a great conversation, refreshing to see materialism is being recognised as not bringing the happiness we have been led to believe through advertising. Happiness is a fleeting emotion like all emotions, trying to seek it as a constant state is unattainable, seeking contentment is what we should strive for.
Love his honesty you gotta fan for life bro your videos give me hope and inspiration
Holy sh*t Paul, literally just everything on the table.. You've got James to open up ❤
Paul’s a f**king legend wish him all the success in life he deserves it he helps so many people out with his comedy all while he’s going through his own shit all you can do is admire this guy he’s funny f**Ker as well
Imagine turning up to your dealers in a bright orange Lambo asking for dmt and shrooms 🤣🤣🤣 great podcast lads, great to hear Paul's back story 👏
🤣🤣🤣
'The' best podcast to date. 110%. Thanks. Keep it going.
I've watched all your videos, that is the best yet and i've never seen or heard of Paul Smith. Therapy with James English.
Thanks John
Awesome interview james with a quality hilarious genuine lad. The world is a constant mind fuck just keep doing what your doing man it'll all work out how it should
That cancer bit was outstanding. Not many comedians would have smashed it like that.
James! Paul! What an interview!!!!!! So Much love for you both. 🙂
❤️
Absolutely brilliant. Open and honest. I've been looking for a good podcast and i may just have found it. Keep up the great work.
This is a great watch. I've had struggles over the years and comedy takes it out of my mind. Seen Paul in Newcastle when a lad threw a joint on the stage for him. It's good to see the real side of him and how he has calmed down. I first seen James on have a word podcast and his stories are mental and its good to see that he has a different outlook on life to when he was in a bad place. I admire people like that.
I tried to watch another podcast that Paul did, and I genuinely couldn’t watch it, was so skatty and all over the place ! Your podcasts James are just so much better than everyone else’s!! All the best for 2022 mate
Thanks g
@Adam Marshall not as shit as you’d be Adam
This podcast has made me realise that we’re all on our own journey, and every decision and what we do at that current place we’re at in our lives, are right for us at that point in time. But you can’t see that whilst you’re doing it. But looking back, everything I’ve done that I’ve beat myself up over mentally whilst it’s happening, I’ve looked back and realised it’s lead me to the next thing in the way it was supposed to happen.
Just in addition to what Paul said about ego. Ego can be satisfied not only with material things, but also with work that person does or how treats people around. To my knowledge Paul does unique thing that not many people can do, so this is already feeding his ego. Great interview.
James, fuck knows if you'll read this, but I hope so, you seem to have this ability to bring pure or brutal honesty outta your guests ??
There's plenty of your podcast interviews on this addiction subject and James it's absolutely first class, credit to you, I know you relate to it too, but, hand on heart it's soooo refreshing to hear others tell their story, because it's all to familiar for us all ?
It's so positive, rewarding, and it gives other fucked up addicts struggling strength to continue pushing forward striving to achieve what we all strive for
Thank you James, thank you so much, only fellow addicts understand what it means to hear others's struggles, cuz as you know all our story's are different but the meat and 2 veg of our journey/story is almost identical.
Fucking love you for bringing this to a main stream and to a popular light.
You deserve all that's coming your way.
Fucking bang on. XXX
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Legend
this has been great, Paul Smith you do really help me take some time out from normal, thank you
