No its not allowed Roberto, thankfully. This is not a place for the phone. You go in and leave all distractions behind.
@@RobertoSurya Phones aren't allowed inside the temple. But, if you have a camera, you can take it by paying some amount. Although, I'd suggest you to go without phones or camera. It's really peaceful inside the temple.

I read somewhere that cameras and cellphones are not allowed inside the complex. Is that an old policy and it’s fine to bring in, even inside the main temple, in 2023?
Also, I’ve read that one has to remove shoes before entering the entire complex itself but I noticed you only have to remove before entering the temple itself and it’s immediate perimeter.
Finally, seems like it wasn’t as crowded as I thought. What would you say are the busiest months and what would be the least crowded?

Cameras are not allowed inside the temple but you can take it inside the premises.
And you have to remove your shoes before entering the main gate of the complex.
And Nov - Feb are the ideal months of visiting here as we mostly have scorching summer but these months are too crowded to visit.
And there are other important shrines and tourist places related to Buddhism near the city so Google them and make plans before coming here.
Also visit nearby places like Rajgir and Nalanda which are 80 km from bodhgaya
Honking must be banned in Bodhgaya.

Yes, IT is very safe place. But don't hire any Hindu guide. Contact only Buddhists who give you right information. Extremist Hindu don't like Buddhism.

Whole bodhgaya is safe, peaceful, less crowded & drinking water everywhere during summer . It's small town just children who Begg you money and have a visit to Rajgir and Nalanda too

Don't spread fake information. Brahminism (Hindu) tried to destroy all Buddhists Universities. Hindu try to disgrace Buddha in their Hindu Scriptures. Brahminism believes in God but Buddha denied it. Hindu believes in soul ( Atma). Buddhism doesn't.
