I think that's the real deal people don't seem to get when they praise Noxius for being a meritocracy. Sure if you're good at fighting for this warmongering nation you'll be respected and move up the ranks, but everything else, from the manufacturing of weapons to the crafting of day to day goods is secondary to the expansion of the state. If you're a carpenter making the structure for trebuchets, there is no "upgrade" in life for you, if you maintain the harvests there isn't a "high grain cutter" for you to ascend to. If you want respect and to be able to do more, you have to serve in battle. "Screw the infirm or impaired, it's a meritocracy not a charity."
Well according to lore noxus does respect farmers and artisans who contribute to the empire, they just don't get rich. I would argue being a farmer in noxus is better than a farmer in medieval europe, atleast you get to live a relatively free and quiet life, bonus points if you're a retired veteran who got given land, that way you can contribute even as you age.
Noxus doesn’t just mean strength as in battle and physical strength. They admire strength of all kinds. And without the fabric weavers and the veggies seller noxus wouldn’t really function that well, so I’m sure they see value in those people
Yes and no, manifest destiny was expansionist and drove a lot of America's goals forward but it was also exclusionist, only white people could benefit, Noxus does not care about that, neither race or gender factor in what you can do for the empire and in the end, for yourself.
Finally here they come, my favorite region. I think they are a fantastic twist on the “evil empire” fantasy cliche and have surprisingly more depth than it seems on the surface while keeping the over the top aesthetic

There is a solution to every problem. In your entries' case, 1. Befriend those promising individuals or at least plant seeds for you to use them later on. 2. Align the education system to produce what you want. 3. Accept anyone who rises to a position of power or prominence and endlessly test them. Nobody can be good at everything and nobody can be strong all the time. When they inevitably need help, present yourself, whether they can through you or not. If the former, this is nothing Stockholm Syndrome and learned helplessness can't remedy. That way, you control the person who delivers a product or service very well, without losing what makes them useful.
She’s not Guile/The Faceless if that’s what you mean. She is one of the leaders of the Black Rose, which runs Noxus from the shadows. But Swain and the Trifarix are explicitly working AGAINST the Black Rose, so it would make no sense for her to be on the Trifarix. Then again maybe there’s some insane 4D chess nonsense happening here and she’s somehow playing both sides, who knows.
Noxus is my favourite region because of how equal the people are treated. It's also the home of my lil yordle boi Kled, who is meme of the region. I'd be happy for more Noxus topics, especially when Kled is mentioned :3
Always like how Each Faction or Nation has one Positive and Negative trait. Like the Meritocratic Expantionist Empire. Or Demacia. Hates mages but you can find some of the most Good Characters in the game there.
You could argue the fire nation had a good reason to conquer. If you look at every other nation none of them come even close to the mechanical prowess of the fire nation. the water and earth nations are living like cave men while the fire nation has fully functional tanks. (The air nation came kinda close and may have been farther along if.... well....) Of course the statement "we should share our fortune with the world" shifted to something far darker by the end of 100 years and they were clearly the villains. But life woulda been better for a lot of people under a slightly less evil fire nation.
One of the things I like is other champions will look at Swain and make the assumption he made a deal with a demon for power and that he is a fool for doing so, but then Swain reveals he knows exactly what he's done, and he knows it's only temporary before the demon will eventually consume him, so what he;s actually trying to do is secure Noxus from what he sees as the real threat, expend it to be the empire he wants it to be, and leave a legacy behind when he goes, if he can succeed in those things before the demon takes him he will consider it worthwhile.
Tbh I'd live in noxus than anywhere else with the exception of ishtal maybe. Since if i had magic demacia is yk...Worse than america in the past future and present combined

When it is outside of battle filled frontlines Noxus is the most free country. They don't care about your race, gender or criminal history in another kingdom. If you can do something and be really good at it they will just give you the nod of approval to stay. Other nations are not that great politics and law wise... Demacia executes mages out of principle and fear rather than a actual reason. Shadow isles is shadow isles Ionia is heavily focused on the spiritual world and doesn't really like people who are incapable of participating in such beliefs. Shurima is a Kingdom ruled by demigods that are constatly at odds with eachother. Frelyord is a definition of "survival of the fittest" for the most part. Bilgewater is a place where freedom is with no chains of morality. Targon is similar to shurima only it's just two groups that are at eachothers throats... also both groups don't really care about humans... only about really having control over them... Piltover is a "money controls law" region as is constantly showed in most Zaun stories. Zaun is pretty much a techologically advanced Bilgewater... only exception is the fact that they live under the opression of Piltover.

Swain pretty much controls the whole nation so he probably indirectly controls the military. Also considering hue’s a tactician and a lot of his official art show him in battle (his splash art is a ton of noxians marching- you can see the banners, his LoR level one is him standing in a battlefield with a bunch of city breakers behind him- and his Level 2 is him using his ultimate to kill a bunch of ionians) I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that he sometimes leads expeditions himself, also his short story is literally him discussing tactics so tbh it’s confirmed that he definitely goes to battle sometimes.
Sort of. See swain may be the official leader of the military but the legions ultimately listen to Darius. He takes orders so long they serve Noxus, which is something Swain has no problem with

Basically Noxus hates monarchy and they value power, skills, and cunning above all else, a slave can rise through the ranks of Noxus military as equal as prince would, to some degree most of us can sympathize with that ideals although they way they conduct their ideology is sometimes very questionable. Noxus are also one of the more open minded societies in Runeterra as they don't give a damn what's your sexuality and preferences as long as you're doing your job properly.
That's right! One of the things I like about Runeterra as a world is that many of the nations are shades of grey vs definitively "good or bad" - and Noxus is no exception!

I've heard that if Guile were LeBlanc, Swain's demon would know. I propose: Guile is LeBlanc, but shows up to the meetings exclusively as an illusion, wearing a completely different face. Rahul knows secrets because he peeks into you soul, but illusions don't haves souls. Loophole.
Good one there. It is true that Raum can only get secrets from persons, and given that LeBlanc is pretty much just a bunch of illusions and clones, Raum wouldn't be able to know any of her secrets, only the secrets of her human puppets. But I think Swain would have predicted this. The obvious lack of secrets from Guile would lead Swain to believe that LeBlanc's behind it using her magic, and eventually he would take the current Guile out, choosing quietly a new Guile that is more of his preference. Unless, for some reason, it was beneficial for him to let her be there. But I'd say that's unlikely. Also, being so close to Swain and so high in the Noxian government wouldn't be beneficial to LeBlanc; she manipulates others from the shadows to do her biding, and getting to be one of the officially three most powerful persons in the empire contradicts her methods. She simply doesn't need the position to be influential, apart from being dangerously close to Swain. Unless she risked being close to Swain to really keep him in check, knowing that he knows she's there and that he allows her to be. Which would lead to be every trifarix meeting a direct intelectual duel between Swain and LeBlanc, and Darius watching. But, then again, unlikely. Perhaps, just perhaps, LeBlanc has assisted to the council as Guile once or twice, and Swain wouldn't have noticed that singular event, although he would suspect the possibility of such a thing happening from time to time.

My theory is that it’s not her since the council was handpicked by Swain and it would be weird to put his biggest enemy by choice but it’s not completely out of the picture and it was intentionally left vague

Fun fact about Darius and Draven, both where not born noxian, but where part of a nation that got conquered by it. These 2 were orphans and got taken in by a noxian general after Draven tried to kill him by throwing a knife.
You said anyone skilled will go far, but does that just qualify for combat and the like or would an artist or something more culture/luxury leaning for example also qualify? I imagine that its mostly aimed at practical skills that can aid the war effort, but on the other hand i could see how thats just a part of noxus. Like the wave outward and borders are aimed at war, while the noxus they leave behind can focus more at growing the nation in a wealth/culture sense. If that makes sense? I believe Swain actually heads the majority of the Noxian military, Darius is really only in direct control of the Trifarian Legion.

Also considering hue’s a tactician and a lot of his official art show him in battle (his splash art is a ton of noxians marching- you can see the banners, his LoR level one is him standing in a battlefield with a bunch of city breakers behind him- and his Level 2 is him using his ultimate to kill a bunch of ionians) I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that he sometimes leads expeditions himself, also his short story is literally him discussing tactics so tbh it’s confirmed that he definitely goes to battle sometimes.

See swain may be the official leader of the military but the legions ultimately listen to Darius. He takes orders so long they serve Noxus, which is something Swain has no problem with

In lore he violently removed officials to make Noxus less corrupt, Swain was trying to impress him by quickly doing reforms which to me meant that Darius must have held some power over him hence that. But nope he is only in charge of the elite legion nothing more. Could have sworn I heard it otherwise in some yt videos tho

Basically Noxus hates monarchy and they value power, skills, and cunning above all else, a slave can rise through the ranks of Noxus military as equal as prince would, to some degree most of us can sympathize with that ideals although they way they conduct their ideology is sometimes very questionable.
Noxus are also one of the more open minded societies in Runeterra as they don't give a damn what's your sexuality and preferences as long as you're doing your job properly.

That's right! One of the things I like about Runeterra as a world is that many of the nations are shades of grey vs definitively "good or bad" - and Noxus is no exception!

After the Lore rework for Noxus, I fell in love with the Empire. Demacia can go suck its own turds. I also mained Swain at a time Before I quit League.

After reading the latest comic "Katarina" comic I think it makes sense she represents Guile.

I've heard that if Guile were LeBlanc, Swain's demon would know. I propose: Guile is LeBlanc, but shows up to the meetings exclusively as an illusion, wearing a completely different face. Rahul knows secrets because he peeks into you soul, but illusions don't haves souls. Loophole.
Good one there. It is true that Raum can only get secrets from persons, and given that LeBlanc is pretty much just a bunch of illusions and clones, Raum wouldn't be able to know any of her secrets, only the secrets of her human puppets.
But I think Swain would have predicted this. The obvious lack of secrets from Guile would lead Swain to believe that LeBlanc's behind it using her magic, and eventually he would take the current Guile out, choosing quietly a new Guile that is more of his preference. Unless, for some reason, it was beneficial for him to let her be there. But I'd say that's unlikely.
Also, being so close to Swain and so high in the Noxian government wouldn't be beneficial to LeBlanc; she manipulates others from the shadows to do her biding, and getting to be one of the officially three most powerful persons in the empire contradicts her methods. She simply doesn't need the position to be influential, apart from being dangerously close to Swain. Unless she risked being close to Swain to really keep him in check, knowing that he knows she's there and that he allows her to be.
Which would lead to be every trifarix meeting a direct intelectual duel between Swain and LeBlanc, and Darius watching. But, then again, unlikely.
Perhaps, just perhaps, LeBlanc has assisted to the council as Guile once or twice, and Swain wouldn't have noticed that singular event, although he would suspect the possibility of such a thing happening from time to time.
Swain would not allow that on the council. He knows about Leblanc and her illusions. He is one of if not the most knowledgable individual on runeterra. He's working against black rose and more importantly Mordekaiser

Generally it’s complicated, there are both implications she could be The Faceless and direct statements she isn’t one. My theory is that it’s not her since the council was handpicked by Swain and it would be weird to put his biggest enemy by choice but it’s not completely out of the picture and it was intentionally left vague
