Im a "gyro vet" and my tipp is to use the left hand for vertical movement and the right hand for horizontal movement. When you are left handet it is the other way around. Ever since I play in such a way that each hand has its task, i got very constant aiming.

It is nice to see a video of someone actually giving this feautre a go and showing how it works, and how it should be used. There are too many videos of people not knowing how it works, and shitting on it when they don't instantly get god aim.
As an experienced gyro player, I swear losing aim assist is more than made up for by the precision you get when using gyro aiming. You wouldn't say it isn't worth it to lose aim assist for mouse accuracy, and I think the same is true for gyro aim.
You don't actually lose aim assist while the gyro is inactive, so you'll still have aim assist when not aiming down sights as long as you don't have active mode set to always like I do. In my opinion however, the accuracy of gyro aiming with no acceleration is on par with mouse, although you have a smaller range of movement with the gyro. For me, having controller movement and building and mouse- like aim precision is absolutely worth losing aim assist for.
I really like gyro aiming. but on most console games it is implemented very bad. For example on Days gone it is not sensitive enough. I personally like a setting that gives me a real world value of 4 /1 (or the other way around, i dont know if you fist say the realworld value andthen the games translation or reversed.) What i mean is if i turn my controller 90 degrees my ingame turn would be a 360 turn. The second thing is that the gyro is tied to the right stick most of the time, instead of the devs actually coding mouse inputs into the game and then use this for the gyro. The right stick is bound to the ingame velocity instead of a real world desplacement like you would get with a mouse. So if the aim curve in a game sucks the gyro is bad aswell. Mouse gives you aim accelaration. So fast movemtns with the controller or mouse ar translated to a quicker turn in the game. With right stick gyro the camera will only move when you move the controller more steadily.
On pc on the other hand when have to work around the fact that most devs neglect to code in mixed inputs. So when whe use gyro as mouse whe have to shift the rest of the controller layout to keyboards wich disables the analog movement of the game character. Some games do have mixed inputs so you can combine left stick analog with mouse mapped to gyro.
So both pc and consoles have there pros and cons for gyro, and neither has both features all the time. Some games like splatoon do feel like mouse gyro, but i can be certain.
Horizon forbidden west and both last of us games are half the sensitivy that i like aswell. Full sensitiviy only translates to 180 turn on a real life turn of 90 degrees. Firbidden west however has the added feature of a combination of yaw and role.

So to anser your question. I use the flickstick sweep to look around. i use the flick for when some one is either behind me or to my side. and i use the gyro for aiming
I use a natural sensitivity of 4 for the gyro. this means if i turn the controller 90 degrees the camera turns 360 degrees. This way i can look 90 degrees left or right by turning the controller 22 degrees.

@@caleasthetic it definitely helps me as I'm trying to see what works best using the sticks for turning around / look around or using gyro to turn around etc. Im noticing most people use the right stick to look around/turn around and using the gyro to aim but also to turn around in most cases.
the ranhe of motion for gyro depends on how sensitivive you set it. i dont know if your familiar with the natural sensitivity scale? 1 on that scale means 1:1. so a 360 turn of the controller is 360 ingame. I tend to use a 4 on that scale. So a 90 degree controller turns is 360 ingame.
Because i can only comfortably turn my wrist 22 degrees (wich becomes 90 degrees in game). Then i usually combine yaw and roll. so i get double of 4 when i really want or need to. so i can turn 90 degrees while using yay and another 90 when using roll. this to me is more comforable then using a 8 on the natural scale.
I also use gyro always on and flickstick. Flickstick let you control the camera on the horizontal x axs only with the rightstick. you can look up and down with the sticks anymore. you can flick the stick in any angle to instanly turn towards that angle. or you can turn the camra around by first flicking forward (forward flick does not engage flickstick) and then turn the camera by turningn the rightstick on the outer ring (sweeping) . you can also continue to turn the camera around after the initial flick if you keep the stick locked to the outer ring. Because the gyro is always on you would need a gyro pauze button to reset your controller orientation from time to time (because the gyro will drift at some point).
I started using flickstick on boomerang x but had trouble because of the verticality. Then i started using it on games like shadow warrior 1 remake, Wolvenstein the new order. And after that i tried it on a few 3rd person action games like God of war and Resident evil remake and now on Zombie army trilogy and zombie army 4 deadwar. It still feels incredible on 3rd person games.
on god of war when the camera is behind krato and he is facing the camera, he starts to turn around facing away from the camera when you flick the left stick either forward or backwards. If a 3r person games lets you walk towards the camera, then flickstick would not work properly. but on god of war it works because kratos can only walk away from the camera.
On Zombie army trilogy the player charachter instanly turn away from the camera when you turn the camera behind them, (so this works slighly different from god of war). So this game also works with flickstick.
Gyro aim is SO good, it's literally mouse for controller. It really sucks to hear that people are still going to prefer stick and aim assist because they want the game to aim for them. :/
I think that using a combination of both regular stick aiming and gyro for finer aiming will be sick
it is SO SICK, splatoon got way ahead of the game by adopting that sort of control scheme in the very first game.
Gyro has much more potential as a hard input that can be remapped. For instance flick controller up to jump and flick down to build etc. it would be huge for those players that don’t want to buy annoying controller attachments or change the way they hold their controller to learn claw. Or how about flick to instant reset edits?!

As a claw player that is too used to it to switch back to normal i would not recommend using claw, it makes my fingers feel shit

Personally I use Gyro for Aiming & All Building. This is probably because I was used to Gyro Aiming On Splatoon 2 for 2yrs Before I Got Fortnite. The thing I would say about Gyro Aiming is that it makes it MUCH easier to hit sniper shot. However.... trying to get Shotgun kills with the setting turned in is so incredibly hard compared to regular analogue stick aiming.

Damn, I use gyro for close-mid range shotgun flicks and it works really well imo (though in extremely close range, stick is better)
A tip for gyro/motion: use motion to adjust, and also use the sticks as well
Another tip: you might wanna try flick stick, you will use right stick purely for big horizontal movements and gyro for everything else, so big and small aiming movements
I personally keep gyro always on since it's basically an air mouse. I recommend keeping it cradled between your legs. Using it in tandem with stick is great, you just need to experiment

Yh it’s a lil bit dodgy I find if u have Gyro on and u wanna use ur stick to track instead of the gyro. Gyro is sick for those more precise shots. I might set the Gyro to a lower sense than my regular one.

I don’t like playing with the controller in between my legs, people have opinions on how they like the controller while they play, but I’ve been playing since season 7 and play on Nintendo, I’ve played on every platform and have put over 1000 hours into this game, I’m cracked as shit and have never put the controller in between my legs, but daddy flea is of course better then I am, but everyone is cracked in some peoples mindset
When using Flick Stick and Always Gyro configure your controls so Triangle is your Gyro Off button when Held so it will be "Toggle Pickaxe / Gyro Modifier (in blue text which means hold, holding does not Toggle Pickaxe so don't worry)
Please try Flick Stick after that change and you will be really impressed. So Always on Gyro + Flick Stick + Gyro Modifier so you can reset your hand position.

Aim assist only disables when your using the gyro like only when you ads but hipfire assist is still there

@@Flea yes but you probably pressed L2 while jumping activating gyro and turning off your aim assist. Gyro works even while jumping of you pressing the ads button

The Gyro settings also works on Switch. I set both mode as always because I use Gyro controls a lot in the past.

I’ve been using gyro the past couple of days and you still get aim assist for hip fire as long as gyro settings aren’t set to always on I personally use the scoped and aiming setting since my smg aim is sticky as hell with gyro on but using scoped only will affect the mk7 and sniper aim alone and by turning vertical to horizontal ratio from 1:1 to 1:0 you remove all side to side gyro look movement so no matter how you angle the controller while holding it down for recoil control your aim won’t shift left and right

@@adnfvno a mouse uses an optical sensor to detect a surface moving. Gyro detects the angular velocity of the controller. It measures the controllers rotation. You could theoretically put a gyroscope in a mouse as well as an optical sensor.

Gyro aiming up and down is really good and smooth, it gets ruined however with the left and right it's a bit too slow. Forcing you to be faster which in turns make it un reliable
they should add a setting which increases left-right speed. alternatively, you can use sticks to move quickly.
@@MG-mh8xp that already exist in the settings since the update, its the vertical scale, by defualt its prioritizes vertical input hence why up and down are faster but you can adjust it to be 1:1 or any scale you want it to be
