Please! It would be so funny!
That’s actually a really good idea. Hoping this happens!
I love that those water toks would put one packet of powder into a GIGANTIC container, and the crew decided to tell them to do two packets per tiny glass.
Dude, it's more like, three packets and six pumps of syrup per 32 oz tumbler. Nobody on there is doing just one packet. Those packets are usually for a 16 oz bottle of water. These girls like it sweet, they wouldn't even be able to taste just one in there.
they’re one pack per 16 oz lol. so yeah it’s just a little over a glass of water. anyone putting a singular packet in a stanley isn’t tasting anything
I much prefer the taste of one packet per 40oz of water. One packet in a water bottle is way too strong for me 🥴
You gotta remember all that ice is in there. It’s not actually 40oz of water….so 1 packet tastes right in a Stanley! I don’t do the syrups and I don’t always use the packets but it’s a nice treat for sure!!!
oh gosh I was horrified when they started their recipe... that's SO much syrup & sweetener hahaha

Just to specify. Watertok all originated from people who had bariatric surgery and need to drink 90 fluid ounces a day or they could have severe problems after surgery, encouraging each other to drink the water they need to to heal properly and stay healthy. It has now turned into making fun waters, and having fun though.
It’s not water though. It’s squash. I don’t get why we have to pretend that we’ve reinvented the wheel. Drinking squash is completely fine and valid, why the need to call it water?
@@MissCaraMintbecause they've shortened the explanation on tiktok. Bariatric doctors say, any decaf and sugar free fluid counts towards your water intake.
@@jamyedowell245 It might count towards you liquid intake (in fact I never made the claim that it didn’t), but you also can’t just rename things that already exist as other things that already exist. Especially on tiktok where the meaning of things are easily misunderstood due to the nature of short video clips. «Drink» or «beverage» would be way better. Especially since you avoing the weird overtones it has with Americans taking something so common to europeans and Australians and the like and just renaming it for themselves. That part actually does bother me. This really smells of «Americans think they are the center of the world» stuff.
@@MissCaraMintI am god and I now rename it water.
@@MissCaraMint what is squash?
Watertok is super popular for those who are bariatric patients, as well as recovering/recovered alcoholics. It’s not always as healthy as the “wellness” community would like, but it’s definitely a help to those of us who need more than just water. I’m so glad you tested them for us, thank you! I love your perspectives 😊
This!
Unfortunately I think it either is or will be quite popular in the ED community.
@@missbeaussie I could see that, but at the same time it is very much a good replacement for (real sugar) sugary juices, teas, & soft drinks. I was an avid soda drinker but drinking flavored water has helped me drink more plain water & more water altogether.

They should call it cloud juice. Or really anything other than water. I wouldn’t be so bothered by the whole watertok thing if they would just admit that they’re inventing weird soft drinks instead of doing it under the guise of regular water consumption.
taking my life back at 42 is a bariatric patient so we have water goals and sometimes we can’t stomach water all the time so we like to spice it up
You are so brave
Ok?
the replies under this comment are weird af. for those who don’t know, ppl recovering from bariatric surgery have to drink enough water to avoid complications. but water nausea is a side effect, so using flavorings help with that
Tbh, Watertok has inspired me to quit drinking soda. I am addicted to pop. I was going through like... 3 12pks a week. So, yes, I know I could drink regular water but it's really hard to break a habit that way.
"Addicted to pop"
Drinking soda is not a real addiction. Do you get withdrawals when you stop drinking your "pop"?
@@brianhoward7277 You can be addicted to the sugar, the caffeine and the ritual of drinking something unhealthy but makes you happy.
@@brianhoward7277 you have side effectives yeah
@@brianhoward7277 you can 100% be addicted to caffeine in sodas
@@brianhoward7277 anything can be addictive, but especially drinks loaded with sugar and caffeine purely because the dopamine release will induce behavioral addiction. soda is proven to be just as addictive as heroin. also not all addictions are physical, so your question about withdrawals is mute. googles free btw if you want to try fact checking yourself next time you want to show your ass in response to someone sharing their story.

The one thing watertok IS doing (accidentally) is by buying concentrated syrups instead of soda, they're cutting back on needlessly shipping water all over the place.
A lot of people on Watertok are bariatric patients. I know for a fact the first woman is. The syrups and powders are sugar free. I *think* its actually suggested that bariatric patients flavor their water because its important to just get water in, period. They're at a much higher risk for dehydration and sometimes after the surgery they can't stomach plain water.
Came here to say this! There's no sugar in it.
This is the only appropriate response to this
i was about to comment this. it’s USUALLY for us bariatric patients for water goals
This comment is 100% accurate I work with bariatric patients
Thanks for the context! I thought watertok was just toxic diet culture taking another form but this is good to know.
The fact that Link’s son asked for a mug for his birthday
Asking for a cup for his birthday is the most Lando thing ever.
But I think when your parents are rich (like regular internetainer rich not ultra-wealthy like Logan Roy), you can focus on those kinds of things. Because you probably get the gadgets and cool toys, so you can focus on more mundane things you want.
@@BonJoviBeatlesLedZepright. What do you get a kid that has everything.
@@BonJoviBeatlesLedZep I came here to say this 😂 the most Lando behavior ever
He is his dad. 100%
From the rare little things they say about their kids, and also the Covid vid of them playing with their kids toys, I think it's more that they both have tried to keep their kids grounded and not buy them everything they want. I'm not saying they don't have way more than most kids but that they don't seem to be outrageously spoiled with items. That might just be me though lol
Yknow what, I think this is so fun and wholesome! Everyone in a little community sharing their favourite flavour combos just seems so fun and sweet. And its maybe not the healthiest thing to drink, but its probably way better for you than actual soda. Im all for this if this helps people who really struggle to drink plain water, bariatric patient or not.
Also they look pretty
see, this is the kind of wholesome comment i was hoping to see
"probably" isn't really the best measure of healthy. Absolutely should have moderation regardless of it being soda or "water" like this
@@user-ds5lf3he3xdoctors tell bariatric patients how much fluid they need to drink per day to avoid dehydration. Their doctors must have told them that amount is fine, I doubt you know more than their doctors
my biggest problem with this trend that I saw Kurtis Conner bring up is that sometimes they’ll fill their reusable water bottles with plastic water bottles, which completely negates the point of having a reusable water bottle… like do what you want with water, but why does it have to be so wasteful?
Apparently most of the people who popularized these drinks (like the taking my life back lady) are recovering from a gastric bypass where they have to go on a liquid diet for some time and also use this as a low calorie water sweetener
Some patients who've had gastric bypass surgery also experience water nausea, meaning they can't tolerate plain water well. Flavoring it helps (although I don't know by what mechanism) so they don't get dehydrated. I don't mind it honestly.
After getting surgery they have to get in a specific amount of water each day. Women’s water goal is about 80 oz and mens is about 100 oz at least. This is to keep from being dehydrated, staying full, and to help with constipation
@@fevre_dream8542 Is that what it is called?! I had gastric bypass 3 years ago and I STILL can't drink water. Not even my precious evian which I devoured pre surgery. It just doesn't quench my thirst.
Honestly, this is where i kinda got taken back Because they didn’t even do the research to see why she’s drinking water like this
i’m trying to quit my monster addiction right now and flavored water helps a bunch!!

Agreed
We need a vlog series of Link and his new watertok adventures
With Taking my Life Back at 42 🤣
Everybody's hating on watertok, but here's my take- as a type 1 diabetic it's extra important that I stay hydrated, but I struggle to drink plain water. With these packets I drink way more water, and they taste like candy so it feels like a special treat. I will say that I usually don't exceed 1/2 packet of powder and 1-2 pumps syrup per 32oz of water. Obviously plain water is preferred, but flavored water helped me kick my diet soda habit and better manage my blood sugar.
Yes! agreed :)
All this terminology is new to me. Flavored water? I've just been thinking of those little packets as alternatives to Kool-Aid! Warm weather is back now, and it's time for me to take a few "sleeves" of Crush watermelon-flavor to work, to take the place of those winter mugs of tea. (It has the most realistic watermelon taste of anything I've ever eaten that wasn't an actual watermelon. 🍉❗)
Some of it is just a sugar filled cup with a slight amount of water, and it’s absurd that people say that’s it’s good to drink that
@Mannperson324 A lot of these come in skinny options. They're sugar free.
@@lehon481 a lot of the videos aren’t using the “skinny options” most of them are sugar filled messes that are not good for your health

The contrast of this and kurtis connors anger in his watertok video is amazing to see 😂 of course its fine if this is for health reasons but at a certain point oat milk, protein powder and syrup ... Thats a drink just not water lol.
They're popular in Utah because Utah has a TON of soda fountain type places that those cups can be filled up at. They don't drink alcohol or coffee! So they drink soda. Famously healthy for the ol body temple.
As far as I’m aware, people are using sugar free powders and syrups.
A lot of the watertok people are bariatric patients that are struggling with consuming enough water because the gastric sleeve makes your stomach incredibly small.
how does flavouring help then? it won’t fit anyway, flavoured or not

Their podcast is full of their childhood stories.

I like to put several slices of cucumber into a pitcher of water and put it in the fridge to infuse for a couple of hours. It's really refreshing, and there's no added sugar.
Alot of bariatric surgery patients have difficulty drinking plain water and so water tok is kinda a result of that. To keep their water intake where they need it to be, flavored waters really help. Also taking mylifeback is a bariatric surgery patient.

@PhoenixRising Costume makeup I'm a bariatric patient had the gastric sleeve 2 years ago and would never drink all those syrups and drink mixes. The syrups and drink mixes still have artificial sweeters and chemicals in them. Drink what you will but don't push it as if it's healthy cause at that point just drink real fruit juice. I am sorely disappointed we didn't have a video at the end of Josh or Trevor creating the WaterTok trying to match takingmylifebackat42's energy

A lot of women on water tok have had weightloss surgery and can't drink carbonation and need to drink a lot of water. This is how they keep their calories low, stay hydrated, and get some flavor in their day
This episode had no business being this funny 😂🤣🤣
I’d suggest watching tiffany ferg’s video about watertok; It goes into why people like/make these drinks
