15:13 Pouring hot water on a frozen windshield can shatter the glass
I was going to say... I guess it doesn't get that cold in North Carolina, and Rhett's father (from Georgia) might just not realize.
Also the opposite. Do NOT spray a hot windshield with a hose unless you want a new one.
Would have thought the glass was thick enough to prevent that.
@markstanley6565 I'm from NC and in the winter it definitely gets cold enough sometimes for windshields to be defrosted. Rhett was saying to put hot water in a bag though, rather than directly on the windshield (which would indeed shatter the glass).
Putting a towel across your windshield the night before is a much better solution.
As an Iowan as soon as they said most forgotten state I knew it was Iowa
Iowa was my second guess after Wyoming.
Was not expecting that Finding Nemo reference from Link!
He watched a lot of Disney movies with his kids so its on brand!
@@Evelyn-vh1ex he’s literally spoken about how much he dislikes disney princesses
@Isabella Petrucci does Nemo follow a princess
As a Floridan, pools are required to have a fence to prevent people from being able to enter it. You cannot have a pool in your yard without at least a 4 foot fence without any gaps. The screen helps to prevent bugs and other debris from getting into the pool
I thought it was more for alligators...
But it also depends on where you live in Florida what type of pool it is. There are plenty of pools especially above ground that are completely ungated or uncovered
So you're not a native
Yup. We have them here in Texas and you mostly only see them in neighborhoods near elementary schools.
I thought it was for the skeeters
Rhett describing defrosting a windshield like it’s a novelty…
yeah couldn't help but laugh at his tone when he was explaining that
When he talked about it like that I was like 'Well come down to Canada our winters are more rough that that"
Presumably because it would be a novelty to the employees they hired from California and other warmer states... some people don't know everything, surprisingly
Yeah, like 80% of his American viewers don’t do that every winter. And, as someone in Buffalo who has to do this in May, It’s not as though North Carolina is a cold state.
We'll all be describing it like that, once the sun goes super nova.
guys Link made an iconic, accurate movie reference. these are unprecedented times.
I’ve lived in Maryland my whole life and have never heard anyone say bop in that context. 😂
I live in Baltimore and we say it all the time here, lol. I was so excited that Rhett got it 😂
Also a lifelong Marylander but not from Baltimore and I just had a sense that it had to be a Baltimore thing.
I was born and raised in Maryland and had never heard of it.
It’s a Baltimore thing I thinks that’s the only part of maryland that uses it
I live in Baltimore and have never heard that term before
I thought “brick” was a New York thing…🤔
Also a Chicago thing
it definitely is and ik every new yorker mad rn
It's definitely not a Mass thing. Been here since birth & never heard it.
As someone who grew up in NY... We definitely said it lol
As a mass girl, it is a ny thing 😂
Gaper = guaranteed accident prone on every run
don't google it! 🤣
😂 not even just on the slope. Just everywhere.
Floridian here 👋🏽😂 law requires an enclosure for pools for liability reasons. Some people just opt for a fence but the majority go for the screen because as Link so appropriately stated we got a ton of BUGZ down here 😂 plus snakes, frogs, lizards, gators and birds that’ll poop everywhere among other things
Exactly. Also a Floridian and yeah we got all kinds of creatures everywhere!
Does there need to be a door to the enclosure or can you just walk in from your back door?
As a resident of Tulsa County.... I could not stop laughing. 😂
Did you find the podcast?
Me too😅
Same here! 😆
I can't find the show!
What are us non residents not getting 👀😂
I’d say the screened over pools is because of the alligators more so than the bugs haha
Came here to say this
it’s because of a safety law
Also the lightning.
@@moldypunk safety from the gators right? Or just in general?
cuz we all know a little screen is goin to stop a 200lb beast.
Fun fact for a Monday…Why there’s a pork Queen in Iowa is because iowa is the number 1 pork producing state and the top state to export pork. The queen and princess are crowned at the Iowa Pork Producers Association, they go around promoting Iowa pork.
Number one killers of Pigs you say? What a title to have.
I Always think of Iowa as a corn state. 🤦♀️

No one in Massachusetts has ever said "brick"
Yea definitely a ny thing been using this term since th 6th grade like 17 yrs ago
Yeah never heard of it before. We just said it’s wicked cold outside.
I’ve heard it in NJ since I was like 12
Definitely not true, I am from Mass, and have used it since I was little lol
Wdym no one, everyone and there mom says it in western mass.
its brick was 100% created in NY this is blasphemy!!!
Lol at Rhett saying people in WA don't surf. My husband and I are both born and raised Washingtonians, and he surfs every weekend. He is a complete maniac though.
I've lived in Massachusetts my entire life and have never heard anyone use the term "brick" like this, and certainly I have never used it myself.
It's used in Jersey as well.
Same here and I’ve heard “bricking it” as a term for being really nervous to do something
It’s from NYC lol
I came here to say that. I’ve lived here 41 years and have never heard or said it.
GMM doesn't and has never used facts, they don't research any of their topics either.
Never take anything from this channel seriously.
Not a single one of these "slang terms" exist or are from the states they said they were.
As a Washingtonian I remember saying pre funk in the 2,000’s.
And yes we learn many 3 syllable words in middle school 😊
Ah yes the prefunk, hittin up the old casino for dollar drinks before hittin the club. The early 2000s was a time.
My first thought was, I thought everywhere used pre-funk. My second thought was, oh this is here, Washington.
I didn’t realize it was a Washington-only term until today 😮
I lived 28 years in Washington and never heard of pre funk. Only pre game
It crossed over to Idaho because we said it too. Thanks Washington! Reminds me of good old times
As someone who has lived their whole life in Maryland, I have never heard Bop used in that way. If anything I have heard it used to describe a good song, like, "oh that songs a bop."
I've spent a good chunk of my years in MD and had only heard it used to refer to a good song.
Yup, grew up in MD, never once in my life heard bop used to describe distance. 🤷🏻♀️
I’ve heard it used in Baltimore
As a Marylander who has live here there whole life. I have used it meaning far away example “wanna go to the so and so house it’s kinda a bop away” but I have also used it as thing song is a bop as well
@Sara Johnson where in Maryland are you? I'm in St. Mary's county and we don't say that here.
Born and grew up in MA and NEVER heard of brick...
same 35 years here never once heard it. South coast of boston
@@jubjubs1000 Same! 35 years this August south shore
Can I just say I freaking cackled at how Link pronounced “Connecticut”? I’ve lived there my whole life and I’m pretty sure that’s the only way I learned how to spell it. 😂
He said it exactly as I read this 😂
I spelled it the same way 😂😂😂😭😭
If it's drinking, it's Massachusetts or Wisconsin 😂
I’m from Nebraska and immediately knew that pork queen was Iowa. I can’t believe the DISRESPECT when you called Iowa “Nebraska-ish.” 😅😅
I’m from Iowa, and was insulted at being called Nebraska-ish, so it must go both ways 😂
@@calebmann4557 I was also offended!!! Born and raised Iowan here!!
We call them no-see'ems here in Georgia too. And trust me, we have them in abundance!
Yep! We live in Georgia and they are everywhere. Especially near our woods
I’m 37 and I’ve lived in SC my whole life and I’ve never heard them called no see ems !! 😮
Arkansas too!
Same in Alabama!
I’m Canadian and we call them no-see’ems as well 🤷🏼♀️
I've lived all over Massachusetts and now close to MA in RI and have never heard the term "brick" like this.
I’m from RI and gre up saying it. It’s AAVE
@@musiclovechaos13124 Do you understand what you said, because I sure don’t.
@@LurreOfTheSilveryMoon *grew
@@LurreOfTheSilveryMoon if the term AAVE is unfamiliar, it’s easily googleable :)
@@musiclovechaos13124 It was and I did. Never seen the anagram before but will be familiar with it now. Still never heard “brick” as meaning cold in all my years in MA and RI. I didn’t say it didn’t exist or wasn’t used, just that as someone who lives here, I’ve never heard it. There are quite a few comments that say exactly the same thing, it’s really not worth this much conversation.
I’m from Tulsa and I’m really sad I can’t find this “Good Morning Tulsa County” podcast
I'm not able to find it either
“It’s brick” is from NYC , or “it’s Brick City”
can definitely confirm that "brick" is a new york thing 🤔🙏🏽
def heard it since a kid in jersey but i never heard somebodddy say it came from mass
Definitely not a mass thing
@@nsmfDelaneyr9464 they need to hire some east coast crew members lol
5:05 Rhett’s elbows look lethal
He has the same elbow as a bat
I was surprised that no-see-um immediately made them jump to the South. It's also a common term in Atlantic Canada.
Have used prefunk in Washington! Didn’t even know that wasn’t a thing everywhere…
People say "it's brick" in NYC too
As soon as they said pre-funk I immediately had flashbacks to my drinking days. I could feel my face get red and felt like a bad kid when they confirmed Washington. Lol. That's always what we called it.
What region of Washington? I live in NW Wa and have never heard pre-funk 🤔
@Amanda Hunt western WA all up and down the I-5 corridor. I'm also almost 40 so it could be a generational thing.
@@amandahunt3864really? I lived in Bellingham for most of my 20s and we said it.
The mosquitoes live year round in certain parts of Florida, and those parts just so happen to have a LOT of screened in pools. Coincidence? I think not 😅
I’m from south Louisiana (in the bayou basically) going to college in Florida and I was amazed at how little mosquitos there are there. My school in the beach part not swamp part though.
Yall need to stop disrespecting NY on this show. We OWN "brick" 😂 I blame it on the fact everyone there is from California, so they don't know any better lol
Hot water will shatter a cold windshield. Don't do that.
I’m from pennsylvania, spent a lot of time in New York. Can’t believe brick is from anywhere but Philly or NY
I've lived in CO my whole life, grew up skiing and snowboarding, went to college in the mountains and have never heard the term "Gaper" until this video

Yep. I think it's primarily-known as the word that follows "Kidz". lol

I asked my husband if Philly had any slang I forgot about. His response... JAWN! He hates that slang so much and refuses to acknowledge it came from Philly where he was born and partially raised. Haha
Maryland for "It's a bop"? Live here......never heard this ever! LOL
hearing them tryna use “ brick “ and “ bop “ was funny imo. iykyk
Imagine living somewhere so warm that you think you need to explain what an ice scraper is😂
I will take a shirt thank you :) haha- there’s a youth team made of me- the pork queen and 2 ambassadors. I am also a college student haha. This definitely made my night.
As a Nebraskan, being compared to Iowa is more offensive than being forgotten
Not me screaming at brick being attributed to Mass... that's a NY thing.
Please don’t pour hot water on your windshield, it will crack.
As an Iowan this made me CACKLE 😂
Yeah, never heard of the Pork Queen and I am a native lol
Same😂
Putting hot water on a cold, icy windshield can shatter the windshield. It happens!
As someone from Iowa I’ve never heard of the pork queen
what’s crazy is on saturday me n my dad were talking about how he has to go to iowa for a week to work an we were both saying how it’s the most forgotten state an then rhett and link talk about it today kinda blows my mind
I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday ✌🏻🐦🌞
so confused rn because we use "brick" in the bronx all the time lol
Aren't those nets to help keep alligators from crawling into the pool?
I can tell you literally no one in Massachusetts says ‘it’s a brick’.. never even heard of that
I’m from NY and I’ve been using brick since the 90’s
In Montana, it’s so cold that if you pour hot water on ur car it’ll shatter the wind shield.
am from maryland and never heard of something being a bop away lol
I feel like the abundance of gators in Florida is why their pools are enclosed.
False
It’s actually an insurance thing.
Brick is NY and NJ lmao
As a Marylander, 1) I have never heard someone use the word "bop," and Eastern Shore thing perhaps? 2) we are definitely not in the Northeast, the northeast is New Jersey+northward, don't group us with them XD
Aww the finding Nemo reference. Sharkbait ooh haha 😂😂😂
As a Floridian I thought a screen was a standard around a pool. Also almost everywhere in Florida requires either a screen or a fence around a in ground pool.
I’m from Massachusetts and my mom lived there for 40+ years and never heard of using brick 😂😂
I'm from outside Boston and no one says "Brick" when its cold. You just say "F$ its cold!"
As a life Marylander I have never heard that term before. Gonna have to call BS on that one hon
We say brick in NC and I assumed it's from the New Yorkers here
When Link said "NortDakoooda" 😂😭 just @ me next time

At 2:33 Rhetts shirt just says "Pud", hahaha
No see ums are definitely not just Florida. We had those in northern Minnesota.
Its the whole east coast through Canada down to Florida
We say it here in WA state too
