    I wonder if anyone else has ever done what Ahkbar has done-Go from normal 109s into the supers weighing about 128 I believe registering a very good 446 back down through the 109s getting a good total tho not his best along the way to a very slim 102 where he put up 400 to qualify for Paris and then back up to a full 109 to win here. Now one more trip back down to 102. Must have a boatload of willpower. I’m hoping the 109s are on for 2028 in LA. I think Djuraev will cop either silver or bronze in Paris.

    this really puts into perspective how strong lifters used to be, and especially the strength of karlos nasar and the top 89's.
    I like watching older worlds competitions; in so doing, I've come across the 2011 worlds -105 session. it's one of the best of all time, just as the 85's and 105's from 2014. klokov and akkaev snatching high 190's and 230's in the c&j. those Russian restoratives....

      @@patricklang7162 He qualified for the olympics by becoming asian champion i think. As for why he competed in 109 here. Could be the weight cut hadnt really started yet for him but he still wanted to compete, could be he didnt want the stress of the more competetive 102s. A few olympic contenders also competed in non-olympic categories, like Koanda in womens 87.

    What is Karlo Nesar on, if he is lifiting more than some of these larger athletes? My only guess is the square-cube law (the bigger an object is hte harder it is for that object to exist, expalining why most large athletes' poun-for-pound lifts are less than smaller athletes).

      the answer is simpler, the best athletes are in the olympic categories, this isn't one

    • @hrsmp
      @hrsmp 3 месяца назад

      For one, smaller athletes have shorter limbs and generally more flexible. Pound for pound is kind of stupid measurement because greater amount of muscle mass doesn't mean proportionally greater force production. You need to look into how muscle contractions happen in the first place, it's all basically work of motoneurons. Square cube law have nothing to do with it, I don't get why you brought that up.

    • @michaellopez2070
      @michaellopez2070 3 месяца назад

      @@hrsmpgreater muscle mass does tend to mean greater force production. Smaller athletes don’t have to lift the bar as far. The motor neuron thing is a cop out for sports scientists to attribute because they can’t figure out the precise leverages and mechanics that make someone athletes more efficient at a given movement. Same goes for muscle fiber composition.
