Just finished reading the book just a moment ago and my mind is buzzing with questions and confusion. I was trying to come up with an explanation for some of the details and I really like your take and analysis.
When I discussed this book with my teacher, she mentioned that Crake is the "embodiment of evil" in this story. I'm glad that I'm not the only one who disagrees with that, he is a much more complex character than that
I tend to believe that characters are meant to be as complex as real people, if they're well written! I'm glad you viewed him through that lens too!
