I've watched your video several times and it's helpful. However, I'm wondering about the correctness of your information about 10 minutes in when you talk about the settings on the back of the remote that look like 6o and 9o. My understanding from the manual is that you can put the unit into a sort of sleep mode for anywhere from 6 to 9 hours. Hence the numbers are not shown as 60 but 6o and if you choose the unit to sleep for 6 hours, the o is an LED light that shows you've chosen 6 hours. Let me know if this is incorrect since you obviously know your subject. Thanks.
You are absolutely right and I am absolutely wrong. (That's what I get for ad-libbing commentary 2 weeks after reading the manual.) Yes, it is 6 and 9 HOURS. Which means you can you can hit the 9 hours button, say, when you go to bed one night and it will power down that night and every night following for 9 hours. Only problem is you'll be greeted with a cold seat on those late-night loo visits! I'm going to pin your comment so others are not misled. Thanks.
Great video! So much more than the instruction manual provides. I turned off my seat while away for two week. When I tried to turn it on nothing would happen. I tried unplugging and then plugging it in with several different time amounts between tries and all I got was a brief blink of the lights and the wash arm coming out and going back in. I tried a google search and all I got for answer is "you need a plumber" and of course they wanted to charge for the answer. I knew I didn't need a plumber and that was a scam. After checking youtube I found your great video. While it didn't actually address my problem directly it taught me about several other things that I didn't know about the seat. When you started the explanation of the remote I looked at mine. I never mounted it to the wall but I left the hanging bracket on it so I would have it available when I decided where to hang it. I took the bracket off and saw the buttons you referred to. By trial and error I ended up holding the power button down for about 10 seconds and the seat came back to life. Your demonstration solved my problem. Thanks for a greart video.
I don't typically comment on RUclips videos because I watch so many of them on the TV. But, I had to open up my mobile app to let you know what it tremendous job you did with this video. Just the exact right amount of information explained clearly and concisely. Thanks a bunch!
I found the video both informative and enjoyable to watch. Made me smile. I know a lot more about the thing now that you have walked me through the functions in a clear and concise manner. Thank you.
Great video. At 2:28 though, when you talk about the bowl spray, which they call the Pre-Mist, it's just regular water not the "Ewater+". The Ewater+ is only for cleaning the wand; it's sprayed on the bowl only if you upgrade to at least the S300e, according to the official TOTO comparison chart
Fun fact, the remote from a 15 year old washlet also operates this new one-- so you don't have to reinstall a new remote (except for the updated features). Apparently the IR control signals have never changed.
Fabulous video!!! You are on target with this great video! I am going to buy one because i believe in saving the Earth. Toilet paper isn't needed. Clean your self with a shower head if you don't have a bidet toilet. You will save trees and save the pipes from getting clogged up. Your video is wonderful!!!
Awesome video WardCo. Thank you very much. Just installed one on a new Toto toilet so learning the nuances was greatly helped by you with an in depth instructional. The booklet falls way too short. Also, the installation instructions left something to be desired. Kudos to you. Now on to the complainers. Whaa! Whaa! There are some black mineral deposits. That is what my turd gulpers look like depending on the well water. Very hard to get rid of without using a volcanic rock scrubber. Not supposed to do that nor use chlorox. I do use borax on occasion and the stain remain for some time. Eventually the problem helps solve itself only to reappear. So for the critics out there. Shut it!
Thank you for this! I just ordered this model and am waiting for it. It was very generous of you to put this video together. Also, I appreciate your humor! :-)
The Dang Filter!!!! Water would not spray. Did all the tricks! Forgot about the filter. Cleaned it up,water sprays like it should!! Just need to remember to turn the water off before removing the filter for next time. 😅 Thanks for your run down. Super helpful
Yeah, we had the power go out for a couple of days here in the mountains last week and we were completely horrified that we were reduced to sitting on a COLD seat! Oh the humanity!
Great explanation of the functions and settings. Only thing I would like to say is that the timer energy saver is 6 hours or 9 hours not minutes. So if you switched on at midnight for 6 hours it will be in energy saver mode until 6 am
THank you so much you just explained everything so clearly. Question- the lid on my washlet is no longer working in slow mode- can i fix it myself??? Toto wants me to send in the whole unit!!!!
My seat heater turns off automatically all the time and I am having to unplug the seat to turn everything on again. What am I doing wrong? Loved you video and thanks for all the great information!
Not obviously. It's sealed in there pretty good. Looks like maybe the seat is made of 2 pieces -- a U-shaped top and flat bottom that are fused together, but can't be sure. So the best bet might be to get into the stationary bit where the seat attaches and just disconnect or bypass it -- but I have no idea how to even do THAT. (I can't remember if the bottom was accessible and I don't want to take the bidet of the toilet to look.)
Thank you for exptalking about the micro switches my remote batteries died mid strream so I leaned left and pushed my finger between the bowl and seafor about 6 seconds and t that turned off the stream.
I have one of these… not sure if you have the answer to this… But I noticed when you leave it on the default settings the seat is always warm when you sit down. Is it bad to have that seat warmer running 24/7? I don’t mean cost-wise…. Is it going to break in a month because it’s constantly running warm?
Well, probably not in a month. It's not really all that much heat and I'm sure the plastic material is designed for it. How it holds up after 5 or 10 years is the real question. Does the long term effect of the heat degrade the plastic in any way? I don't know.
@@WardCo Thanks! Is yours always running and warm 24/7? Wasn't sure if people used the features to turn it on only when you sit on it etc? If that's even an option.
@@brianmonarchcomedy The "auto" thing finally figured out when we sleep after 10 days or so. So it's often cold when this old man trundles in there at 3 AM...
You made me go look! :) No -- well, there is a very slight join where the edges meet the (continuous) bottom but the seam is too smooth and small to be a dirt catch. That said, there is some "splash back" evidence on my mine -- time for a good wipe.
Very helpful video, thank you. We are considering a purchase very soon but I am curious as to the length of the power cord? Not a game changer but would be good to know 🙂. Thank you again for the very informative video.
Hello, I have a question please. Once you use a rear or front feature, does it stop automatically or do you have to press something else to stop it or to go on to another feature? Say for example, I use the feminine feature then want to dry. Do I have to manually stop the feminine water or does just pressing the dryer stop the water? Mahalo!!!
Internet says try this: Press and hold the "Rear Wash" button for 5 seconds Release all buttons. Push the Power on/off button once to turn off the unit. Unplug the power cord and wait for about 10 seconds. Plug the power cord back in and turn the unit on.
Thanks, good video but no mention of adjusting the light, which I'm still trying to figure out. Maybe your unit doesn't have one. I will add that Toto has the worst manual of any appliance I've used in 50 years!
@@WardCo Hmmm.. Yes, when you get close to it, it beeps and turns on the deodorant, which also makes a bit of noise. I think I may just turn it off and turn it back on in the morning, so I don’t wake up my wife.
I don't think so -- but maybe someone will correct me. The only UI toggle I can think of is turning the beep on or off. Of course, you can turn off many of the lights by disabling the corresponding feature, but that kind of defeats the purpose of the thing. I've been known to stick white vinyl tape over similar LEDs, though it might take 2 layers to completely kill the glow.
It would be helpful to leave meter plugged in for several days to know average energy usage. I'm going to guess it's 45 watts for the seat plus 10 watts for the water tank, with all other functions being insignificant to contribute to average energy usage. It is quite expensive. Over the course of 6 years you will pay as much in electricity as for the product. I wish it was possible to have the seat heater only turn on when someone sits on the seat. In other words timed energy saving set to all the time. It seems you can only set to 6 or 9 hours.

Just bought one in Australia. $2k yes you heard it right 2k. And the best 2k I have ever spent.
Does the water from the wand turn off automatically or do you need to push off when finished?
If you stand off (thus opening the micro switch in the seat) the water stops and wand retracts.

This is $2000 in Australia. Does anyone in the US have the manual and can see if it will run on 220v or is it just 110v?
