Can you test the Asus zenbook pro 14 oled with 4070, seems like a real competitior to all the 14inch 'gaming' notebook, but the zenbook is the lightest of them all and the only support stylus

@@ucle9955 Thank you so much for your reply. Hope 4070 will last me a good 4 years, considering the price. My only concern is the CPU is still I7 13620H on those models.
I’m really hoping for a Helios 16/18 review. It’s been available for about a month but there aren’t any reputable reviews yet and I don’t understand why. The screen looks amazing but the only benchmarks I found were very subpar, but then again it was on preproduction hardware. Please see if you can get your hands on one!
Its alot cheaper compared to Legion. One reviewer in the PH but his unit is a 100deg C cpu during gaming. I been eyeing that also but i choose legion never goes 90degc during gaming.
I have a 4080 helios 16. timespy is about 18k+ (should match other 4080), cinebench r23 multicore is 27800 (much less than the legion pro 7i or pro 5i 13900hx, but better than the blade 18's 13950hx in jarrod's review for some reason). screen is awesome, 10-bit color depth, 100% dci-p3 and 500 nits. speakers are garbage. i'm satisfied with the gaming performance for its price (its much cheaper than legion) but it's possible that some other people got bad liquid metal application that results in shitty performance
@@sedifric873 in r23 benchmarking it throttles; after a few minutes at 95c (some cores reach 99c but average is about 95) it will throttle massively to bring temperatures around 85c. I haven't gamed yet since I just got it over the weekend but I assumed it's the same between gaming and benchmarking some laptops allow their CPUs to run at 100c, I guess alienware?
My friend has it and trust me it's a beautiful laptop. If u dont mind adjusting with gaming performance and gaming looks the vivobook 16x is for you. It's prolly the best creator laptop out there
MSI's phase change thermal pad solution is crap. I repasted mine with PTM7950+Upsiren UX Pro putty and got 20k CB R23 as it allows the CPU to sustain turbo for longer. And it turbos to 5GHz consistently instead of throttling instantly. It's a quite a bit higher than the Ryzens in G14/Blade 14. The thermal throttling is also probably why the Stealth 14 1% lows were bad. I don't know how you didn't observe yours thermal throttling. The prices of this laptop are simply not worth it in the US as it comes with a worse 13620H in the US. G14's 7940HS is better than that SKU. The 13700H's 4 extra E cores give it much better multithreaded performance potential when it's not throttling. Also, on Reddit many users are having bad issues such as audible pops and clicks from the speakers due to the DPC Latency. A BIOS update on mine fixed that largely but the latency is still not that great!
What's the best laptop for me if my budget is 1100 dollars and my priority is mid range gaming, good video editing and a beautiful display. I literally watched all ur videos and now I'm more confused. Im considering the legion pro 5i 4050 i5 13th gen
If you’re looking at the Legion Pro 5i then push for the RTX 4060 with the i7 but if your budget is $1100 then look at the LOQ 16 with the RTX 4060 and i7. An RTX 4050 isn’t that bad but for the models you’ve chosen, it will be a bottleneck for the future.
@@Copperstoned thanks a lot for ur advise , I was considering legion over loq because of the display do you think loq has as good display? I'm not much of a gamer I'm more of a freelancer so..
@@siddharthpriyatam7225In the LOQ, there is an option to choose the 2560x1600 display with 165Hz refresh rate. The brightness is 350 nits and more than enough to make content look great. It will be similar to the 400 nits on Pro 5i but not as good as the 500 nits option that 5i also gives. Just remember to not go for the FHD (1920x1080 or 1920x1200) resolution and instead go for the WQXGA resolution (2K and above). The power limits for the GPU won’t matter because the 40-series max out at 100W anyway.
Pretty good especially the dual RAM slots and ability to turn on the fans manually with a shortcut. But just a few small things here and there that sets it a tier lower than the Blade 14 and G14. Webcam looked garbage, speaker placement is horrible, no advanced Optimus, random fan ramp ups in idle mode, terrible battery life, huge bezels, overall gamer-y design not too stealthy. Hope they fix these things in next year's model.
Had a choice of the m16 or stealth 16. One thing I hated about the stealth was the chassis felt like polycarbonate. Not to mention the ewaste of a screen.😂
I consider it the worst of the three (vs Blade 14 and G14), BUT it´s the only one with Intel processor, which means that a few years from now, you could theoretically upgrade it with an upcoming 5080 or 6080 via e-gpu, and get massive gains. If you buy AMD, the laptop will become useless for gaming much, much faster. When Thunderbolt 5 comes, at 3x the bandwidth, I will never ever consider buying any laptop without it. Stay alert, Jarrod!! ;P
@@DeepteshLovesTECH I appreciate the reply, but if I´m not mistaken, Thunderbolt 4 protocols effectively achieve better results and better compatibility when connected to an e-gpu, which is why pretty much everyone and their mother use TB4 in places such as egpu io, the go-to place for egpus. They day TB5 comes, though, gaming laptops will become a residual market, IMO.
@@etherealglory It depends on how much gaming you do. The G14 is still the better gaming laptop in terms of raw power, but the Zenbook is good enough for all the games I play and the screen is true HDR. It also has a smaller power brick. I really like the eclipse grey but I don’t know where I can get it. I want it in this exact model with the same specs. Just like the one you have basically. All of your links lead straight to the white one. Please help.
same!!!!! specs are fine but the grey > moonlight just dont think it's available to u.s
Is the 16inch with the same specs any good for gaming and content creation with gaming as a primary use? Considering buying it here in Canada.
yeah that should be good, 4050/4060/4070 only scales until 100-ish Watt so you can make full use of the GPU
@@chy453 what about the temps, is it thermal throttling? Also there should be a 1000 nit mini LED option which is the one I’d want
@@sedifric873 in r23 benchmarking it throttles; after a few minutes at 95c (some cores reach 99c but average is about 95) it will throttle massively to bring temperatures around 85c. I haven't gamed yet since I just got it over the weekend but I assumed it's the same between gaming and benchmarking
some laptops allow their CPUs to run at 100c, I guess alienware?
I was able to get a Helios 18, will be in testing soon.
Will you test the Alienware m18?
Hi Jarrod, How about the 2023 vivobook pro 16x? It offers a lot of the premium features from proart but under 2k.
My friend has it and trust me it's a beautiful laptop. If u dont mind adjusting with gaming performance and gaming looks the vivobook 16x is for you. It's prolly the best creator laptop out there
@@siddharthpriyatam7225 Awesome, can you tell me the specs your friend has?
Take the review about MSI stealth 16 studio pls
I really wish you would test the RTX 3050 (6GB)
Please review the acer predator helios 16 with rtx 4070
Any update on the Dell G15 (2023) mate ?
11:06 That might be why the Razer Blade 14 had such good battery life...
Wow I think you're right about that! The performance takes a huge hit on battery, definitely not great to pay an extra $1000 for that
But look at the G14 with same CPU. Anyways it's just the OEM tuning that changes.
Hi can you please do a review on the omen 17 2023 gameing laptop
Hoping to, just working out getting one.
@@Copperstoned also I would prolly wait till black Friday to get a laptop so if I get a 4060 in my budget then I will surely take ur advise
R7 7840HS vs i7-13620H for blender/Adobe suite?
Lol ye the FHD screen is awful. The QHD is good though
@@TheArizusyou mean gold?
Please, test flow x13 4070 variant.
Wondering what laptop to get this or the legion slim 7
Or g14
I almost bought this laptop... 😂😂... Waiting one more gen, hope they put meteor lake (core ultra) instead of raptor refresh for 14th gen...
can you review m18 by alienware?
What is latency thing ? 2:59
The design looks sick, especially the back side.
but think gonna get G14 cause it has more efficient ryzen cpu.
Also kudos for putting bass in speaker
Make a video on how to install Ubuntu on any laptop plzz
Do the latency results really matter?
Mostly if you do audio production.
@@JarrodsTech Thanks for the reply! so they don’t matter for us gaming guys.
Personaly I prefer the looks of the old msi stealth with the 30 series cards, it doesn't scream "gamer" too much
Yeah. It seems like MSI forgot about the meaning of stealth
this would have been the PERFECT laptop, if not for the port location.
I'd like to see all ports in the back....
But then it wouldn't say "Stealth" 😂
I consider it the worst of the three (vs Blade 14 and G14), BUT it´s the only one with Intel processor, which means that a few years from now, you could theoretically upgrade it with an upcoming 5080 or 6080 via e-gpu, and get massive gains. If you buy AMD, the laptop will become useless for gaming much, much faster.
When Thunderbolt 5 comes, at 3x the bandwidth, I will never ever consider buying any laptop without it.
Stay alert, Jarrod!! ;P
Both G14 and Blade 14 have 40Gbps USB 4 and also support eGPUs.
They day TB5 comes, though, gaming laptops will become a residual market, IMO.
is it bend tho?
Hello there Jarrod
Real day 2 of review of acer aspire 7 i5 12th gen 12450h, rtx 3050
I wonder when lenovo will enter the 14 inch gaming segment
They are this year, they announced the legion slim 14 or whatever its called recently
@@PividolThey don't have a very premium option though. Just a 5 option with no 7 or 9 option (which are higher tier).
You really need to look at the zenbook pro oled. Fantastic 14” gaming laptop. Battery sucks but screen and performance are great
i was thinking of getting that instead of the g14, would you recommend it?
@@etherealglory It depends on how much gaming you do. The G14 is still the better gaming laptop in terms of raw power, but the Zenbook is good enough for all the games I play and the screen is true HDR. It also has a smaller power brick. It's a hard call. The G14 has better battery life and more powerful GPU.
asus tuf a15 rtx 4070 on the next please.
8:27 is a deal breaker for me. A laptop becomes complete unusable to me if the FN + arrow keys do not have Home/End and Page Up/Down. And triple half-keys? You have 6 half-keys in the space of 3 regular keys, looks like a nightmare.
