I've been a Tull fan since the very early 70's. While stationed in Germany (in the Army), I went to many of their concerts, and every single one was an absolute blast. Ian is truly an exceptional flautist and his ability to animate while playing seemed an impossibility, but he made it look so easy. My hats off to Ian and his many band members that played with him. I can't believe I've been listening to Jethro Tull for over 50 years. Thank you Ian Anderson - Play on.

Thank you very much for the music over the years Mr. Anderson. I have been a fan for a few years ( since early 70's ) and hope for another 50 or so ( at least ). Allow me to wish you and yours an early Merry Christmas and better New Year.
We used to come down from Oceanside occasionally. The 3851 Rosecrans location. They would have two albums on sale for $2.22 or $2.33 each. They were advertised on KPRI FM. I got This Was one time and Arlo Guthrie's Runnin Down The Road another time.
@@StellarFella Yes, I remember Sol Price was quite the businessman. FedMart was another one of his successes. I used to listen to KPRI 106 and even the newer one (102.1) that lasted until 6 years ago, or so. Remember the commercial with just Bree Walker's lips?
@@kurtkensson2059 - A German company bought FedMart. Sol and his son tried to sell them on the Price Club concept and they fired them both. Sol got core investors together. They ponied up $5,000 each in 1974 or 1975. 17 years later in 1993, each $5,000 core investment was worth $43 million if they hadn't even added any more shares to it. That was when Price Club and Costco merged. Wow!
Walt Disney touch me in Christmas. After 50 years this video touched me again in the same way. I'm 58, incredible. Walt Disney and jetrho tull. What a comparison.

nice x-mas concert. now we have soom x-mas again. 18 years later. I wish to join such a x-mas concert unluckily the video stopped just after the song, so nothing to see about the visitors reaction
Merry Christmas fans, sharing new Christmas gifts, music happenings are still the most wanted ones, EPIC this performance indeed, the most welcomed Christmas gift , wishing everybody a great Happy New Year full of such awesome music happenings, dating your new cyber supporters & never let any evil dare to harm you guys, fans love youuuuu Ok?
Tull were one of my favourite bands, in part because they promoted reflection in an often brainless musical industry. I am currently reflecting on how to reconcile this performance with the lyrics of "My God" from their fantastic Aqualung album. People what have you done? Locked Him in His golden cage Golden cage Made Him bend to your religion Him resurrected from the grave From the grave He is the God of nothing If that's all that you can see You are the God of everything He's inside you and me So lean upon Him gently And don't call on Him to save You from your social graces And the sins you used to waive The bloody Church of England In chains of history Requests your earthly presence At the vicarage for tea And the graven image You know who With his plastic crucifix He's got Him fixed Confuses me as to who and where and why As to how he gets his kicks He gets his kicks Confessing to the endless sin With endless whining sounds You'll be praying 'til next Thursday To all the gods that you can count
Nothing to say... Just listening to my Jethro ♥️♥️♥️🎶🎶🎶🎶
Civilization is over it's peak and it's all downhill from here people. Jethro Tull will always be viewed as one of it's gems!
Funny, but possibly true.
Have you heard the new Ian Anderson and Band album thinly disguised as “Jethro Tull”? Talk about something being over it’s peak.

Truly one of my all time favorite Tull selections. Fantastic interpretation here. Glad the string section got to show a little musical sass.
Ho 68 anni e vi vidi a Roma al Palasport nei primi anni 70... È ancora un'emozione
Waaw i remember the concert in Rio de Janeiro at Maracana stadium. Tks 4ever it was amazing. Over 30years ago! Ahow!
С 1970 года Йен Андерсон и его Jethro Tull мой кумир. Спасибо Вам!!!! Браво!
Ian always has been a genius at breathing new life and freshness into every song he ever wrote (Not that any ever needed it of course).
Sound and vision, just beautiful.

Do we really need yet another performance of this song? Why, YES we do! Fantastic.
Thank you for this historical piece of music! And I wish you a merry Christmas!
Bought 'This Was' for $2.33 at White Front in San Diego when the album was just out in late 1968.
Have loved your music ever since.
Stay safe.
Which White Front? I remember the one in La Mesa, across from Grossmont Center.

That performance was amazing!
really good performance!
Excellent! I was waiting for a usual one leg trick from Ian (I saw it with my own eyes in 2005 in Kyiv), but even without it he is very good! :-)
Looked like he was doing a more conservative version of it.

Musik ist wie eine Faust die deine Brustkorb durchbricht, um dann zärtlich dein pulsierendes Herz in der Hand zu halten!
Still able to play better on one leg, than most do on two!!!
Aye he's still fiddling that lovely JS Bach tune, Bouree for Mr. I.A. of J.T. !
Sensacional 💥🌹💥
I’m really excited! This is 6 am what time zone? If it’s specified and I missed it, apologies.

People what have you done?
Locked Him in His golden cage
Golden cage
Made Him bend to your religion
Him resurrected from the grave
From the grave
He is the God of nothing
If that's all that you can see
You are the God of everything
He's inside you and me
So lean upon Him gently
And don't call on Him to save
You from your social graces
And the sins you used to waive
The bloody Church of England
In chains of history
Requests your earthly presence
At the vicarage for tea
And the graven image
You know who
With his plastic crucifix
He's got Him fixed
Confuses me as to who and where and why
As to how he gets his kicks
He gets his kicks
Confessing to the endless sin
With endless whining sounds
You'll be praying 'til next Thursday
To all the gods that you can count
👏👏👏👏👏
Does anyone know if this concert was released on cd? I have the Christmas at Saint brides in 2008 on CD!
Where is Martin Barre?
It's Ian's solo band
No Christmas Codpiece?
Today’s Jethro Tull, AKA Ian Anderson and Band.
1:27. Mish nicer to look at than Martian
