BRING BACK GRID GIRLS❤! LEWIS loved them, he was always acting nervous around them in 2007 2008, yet was an absolute beast on the track back then. And I'm called a Lewis hater by friends and family as I didnt think he would have dominated without that car, Rosberg was a brilliant challenge in the same car. F1 fans all need more battles within the same team. It's too comfortable nowadays.
She got there on merit, not a special program.
Parents can take their daughters karting - like parents get sons into ksrting, been that way for 40/50 years, but some think special treatment is the answer.
What many fail to see is how many young BOYS got into karting young and never made it to F1......the activists act like the drivers are only in F1 because they are MEN.
Not true, they are there because they are the very best of all who showed up when they were kids and started racing.
Not to mention if a female driver could simply get a superliscense they could be a pay driver for an F1 team sponsor......never seen one of them....?
@@carlfrye1566 you need to look at the initial number of women entering karting. I won't go into every opportunity women miss out on; but the biggest ones are these:
- First one relates to something you said: parents just don't take girls' karting ambitions seriously. They don't see a career for them in racing.
- Second point is why you see women in other championships like WEC but not the Formulas: sponsors (and the sheer amount of opportunity cost incurred when signing a driver in the formulas vs in WEC.) No one wants to spend on a woman when they can spend on men. Not only because there's greater choice, but also because there's a proven track record. It's a negative feedback loop. We're now seeing women like Dorianne Pin and Abbi Pulling, who are making sponsors go okay, there is a lot more of the population to consider. But this was only really possible due to exclusive series like F1 Academy, that allows women to be picked up in the first place.
It's not special treatment, it's leveling the playing field so we can get out of that negative feedback loop. Think of some of Obama's policies during the 2008 financial crisis. Expansionary fiscal policy, increase money supply, etc. Same concept applies.
