My dog and I have just recently been chased and attacked TWICE by a pitbul terrier that wasn't on a lead whilst out walking. The most horrific and terrifing experience of my life!! These dogs are so big and so incredibly strong. Yes it is the responsibility of the owner but unfortunately my experience is that responsible dog owners of such breads are few and far between. It has happened twice in less than 2 years (2 different dogs, 2 diffident owners in 2 completely different locations) resulting in my hospitalisation and my dog (Border Collie) that was left, both times, very close to death!! Please be responsible people for the love of God. Train and discipline your dogs 🙏

@@Briscom Right someone needs to learn about their breeds. The American Bully was created to be the ultimate family dog, they are a companionship breed, and are incredible family dogs, ANY dog of ANY breed/mix can be dangerous.
The dogs are nice but they aren't for everyone, and by that I mean owners who aren't prepared for the work to be put into them and lets not even talk about wannabe tough guys.
Yes they put in here as just a family dog, but they are extremely powerful and still have the pitbull mentality in them (mine does)

I think we should start a world wide tag system. Red for stay away, yellow for caution, green for safe to approach. I would add a black stripe for in training. Could be implemented as a vest, leash/collar or straps attached. Anything to make it easy to spot. Just a thought.

@@scrwbl8 I wish there were more people that would LOUDLY pursue that platform I am huge huge animal lover and so much about things with animals breaks my heart. I relinquished a beloved animal because not because I could not care for it but because where we had to relocate to made it dangerous for him to go outside and we just were unable to curtail the cats behavior of wanting to go outside. It pulled my heart out of my chest but at the end of the day if you LOVE an animal its about the animal....not you. Keep telling people its the deed not the breed and the deeds are caused by people. @@Briscom A dog from any breed can be aggressive. I have an American Bully who I rescued from a shelter. He looks very similar to Cartel. But he is the sweetest guy who loves all people and other dogs and sleeps with his cat brother. Being in my 50s now I've rescued lots of dogs. Jack Russell Terriers have been the most aggressive for me, and I found that cocker spaniels could not be trusted with children. I've had great experience with chows and pit bull breeds as family dogs, and mixed results with German Shepherds and collies. Bottom line is that dogs are not easy. They require pretty much the same time, energy and dedication you give to your human family and if you can't give that, don't get one.

One should read the Wikipedia article on this breed. This video represents that they are loving calm dogs very separate from the American pitbull. And that's probably true of most of them. However, there have been a number of mauling deaths by this breed in the last couple of years in the UK. I'm a believer that training is most of it. But in a few cases they've turned on their owners and innocents even when they have not been trained to be aggressive. All I'm saying is to use caution. These are not golden retrievers.
A mother and her teenage son have been attacked on Monday night by this type of dog. They were looking after it and it was at their house. My friend saw it. They are her neighbours It has ripped the mothers throat out and has other body injuries. Her sons arm was hanging off. Viscous attack Both are in a critical condition.

@@armandonorig I think the guy's point is a Golden Retreiver and a labrador have a "soft" mouth, they are bred not to chew things aggresively they are bred to bring back game birds without puncturing the bird. I have a Labrador and i can play fight with him and he'll mouth my arm but it does very little damage, very light bruising. The difference is that these Bully dogs have a bite strength that is in excess of 500lbs compared to a lab at around 200lbs. Also Bully's or their derivatives were bred for bull baiting.
Like any dog socialization is the key, however i'd suggest a labrador is the equivalent of having an air pistol compared for a small calibre hand gun for a Bully - in the wrong hands one is much more likley to result in terrible injury than the other.
@@terencej72wrong. The "soft mouth" doesn't mean anything other than they have better control over their jaw pressure when handling things like delicate birds. It has nothing to do with their likelihood to bite or ability to cause injury when biting.
In fact, despite their reputation as harmless family dogs, labradors are one of the top ten most dangerous breeds of dog and have killed several people.
But they don't look scary so nobody cares.

The dogs look very friendly. My concern is that so many of these type of 'Look at me, how tough I am' dogs always seems to end up in the wrong hands

Stunning dog, unfortunately the statistics don’t lie, there are many child deaths associated with this dog. As well as countless adult injuries, any bull or terrier is unpredictable.
Absolutely right, and a point that many overlook. Sometimes, a usually docile family pet will randomly flip and attack. Other times, owners will raise them poorly, or actively encourage aggression, and then they attack. It really doesn't matter the cause though, because the outcome is the same - more people, including children, dead or mutilated.
Nobody needs to own these appalling animals, and nobody should. Ban them now.
Thankfully be gone from British streets soon.

I hate when they crop the ears. My little girl never had her ears cropped and she was so cute. She also had a brown circle around one eye and a white face so she looked like Petey from the little rascals. Petey was an American pit bull terrier and he was wonderful with his Human children.

Yes! That UK puppy is adorable and I think the non-cropped ears make them look more puppy-like as they get older and that is likely why idiots crop their ears, so they look fierce rather than puppy-like.

Forget the looks, cutting bits of their ears off for non-medical reasons is not ethical.
I do think they look cuter, though I honestly prefer the overall look of cropped ears. They're cropped for safety reasons, since they commonly work in bite work or other rough sports, so there is such a high risk of the dogs ear getting stuck and ripped off if uncropped.

I have a standard female piebald American bully, she is such a sweetie but I will say she will defend her family when it comes to it. Someone tried to take me daughter at the park and she ran full speed after him and locked on until the police arrived. I never even trained her to do that, she did that out of loyalty and love. I can’t imagine what things would be like if she wasn’t in our life, so glad I found her.
You are very blessed to have such a dog as the one you have.
My profile picture is my American Bully, I was walking him as 2 coyotes ran up to me and attacked me. He lunged at the smaller coyote, biting its neck and forcing it to run off. I kicked the other coyote but it bit me again but my American Bully came to the rescue and the other one ran away. I know coyote attacks are rare but I soon figured that they had pups in the woods where we were walking. To this day I’ll never forget it.

The difference between the two is that the pocket bully is a whole deformed genetic mess,while the Xl still has some problems due to overbreeding and demand for “rare colors” on the dogs,but nowhere near as bad as pocket bully,they litterly look like some damm toads,hip and joint problems,and probably a compromised respiratory system

Whatever you do, the killer instinct will be there, and a lot of owners hope it never comes out.
But to think you can train that out of a dog is simply wrong.
All you can do is have the necessary precautions in place to deal with a situation for when the dog snaps.
Saw one out in my neighbourhood with his owner today. The thing locked onto one of my neighbours whilst he was walking towards his car. This dog did not break eye contact until my neighbour drove away. The owner just stood there, unable to get the dog to break eye contact. Absolutely nothing he could do. Accident waiting to happen.
News just in- "Keven Jones, 65, took his final breath while dying, saying ‘I’m going’ after he was bitten by Cookie, a two-year-old American Bully while dog-sitting at his son’s house in Wrexham, North Wales".

"10 year old Jack Lis was attacked and killed by the American bully or XL bully dog called Beast while playing with a friend at a house after school in Caerphilly, Wales, November last year.
Brandon Hayden, 19, was jailed at Cardiff Crown Court for four years and six months after admitting to being in control of the dog at the time."
My Pittie was extremely intelligent und dumb as bread at the same time. A 50 Kilogram cuddlebug with a broad head and a constant smile. God i miss that Dog, He got 17 Years old.

Hulk was a Pitbull, a big one with about 70 kilogramms, that a 154 punds and some extra. Mine hat 50 kilo, that about 110 pumds. if that helps u better
@@joanapaiva7554 I know it sounds hard to believe but it's possible. I had a Staffie that weighed in at just under 100 lbs. He's definitely the biggest Staffie I've ever seen though. My other two are not even close to his size.

Those cases are mislabeled dogs lumped in to blame one as if it's a breed issue... when it's a dog issue. They don't have the desired temperament neither the American Pit Bull Terrier is bred for and the breed standard calls for... nor the temperament that the American Bully is bred for or the breed standard calls for. So where lies the issue?
It isn't in the breed... because that isn't a desired trait. It's specific to that dog... that breeder that made it... and the lack of boundaries set through proper socialization... which comes down to proper ownership of strong breeds.
Something went wrong in the breeding selection.
And "cropping" the ears is needlessly cruel.

Oh, they do remind me of Staffordshire terriers just that behaviour! Cuddles and kisses. However, I would have liked to hear more about their health situation as there are many bull type breeds that have lot of hip, back and breathing problems. And especially when it is new breed then how they plan on to take these things into consideration.

@@iamyourdad2984 There's no evidence that cropping ears reduce ear infection. Otitis Externa, the issue I think you are referring to, also effects other breeds of dogs with pendulous ears, such as poodles, cocker spaniels, and german shepherds and we don't advocate cropping their ears, do we?

I bought my dog as an xl bully. He was 100 lbs at 1 year old. Hes now just over 2 and about 160 lbs. I thought he was another mastiff. I got my dna test back last night and he is a pure bred 100% american bully. I was surprised that he was a bully which i thought i was buying from the spca. Im still in shock cause my boy isso much bigger then any other XL ive seen. Or maybe its the camera making them look smaller then they are idk. Either way i love my dog very much and am glad i saved him

Well had best freind with an American Pitbull. In New Zealand, before they were declared a dangerous breed was an immensely popular dog. The strain that was brought into NZ in general were tan color, athletic build with muscle and generally attractive dogs. Like everywhere else it was bad owners that gave them the bad reputation. Yenko was a massive male hugely powerful but similar in nature to these guys. He was around kids, cats and friends so socialised. However given the reputation you were aware of him and made sure he was happy. Even an accidental nibble given his power was totally different from a smaller dog. That was no better demonstrated by when you have him a beef leg bone as thick as a big man's fist at the knuckle. He would EAT IT COMPLETELY in 15 20 minutes, not chew it. Another time was we were building a retaining wall with 150mm round X 2400 long posts, he was using them as fetch sticks.

Since i got my first American Bully xl 7 years ago i can`t imagine any other breed.
Sadly he`s not with us anymore, lost him to lymfoma in february. Also have a 7year old standard male. He`s the funniest dog i ever met. A real charmer.
Best way to describe these muscle dogs is that the heart is their biggest muscle. They love everything and everyone. Gentle Giants who wants to be a part of the family like the kids are.
Those I've come across have all been far gentler than I ever expected. No barking, just that ever trusting gaze , and the obvious appreciation of affection.
I have also a bully xl and he is 61 kilo end he is zo sweetheart we call hem biggie

My dog is an American Bulldog. I remember one time when I took him on a walk a mother took her children inside and gave me and my mom a mean look....
He's not a bad dog at all. He's such a sweetheart and is so sweet around my 3 y/o sister. It makes me sad.

I always ask the owner if their dog is friendly. No matter the breed. I've been told most of the time yes. Then I ask can I pet him/her. I respect the owner's reply of yes or no. I've also been told no. So I don't try to pet the dog and I just give them a verbal compliment. Not that difficult.
I'm going to be honest, I have 2 staffy cross, I know the importance of ownership and handling of dog/s, but this particular video still shows " tuff perspective" with the tattoed chap and his buddies...his dogs. I have no complaint that he is doing a great job, but , could of been tamed down a little like no thick gold chain and more uncropped ears. ps i LOVE THESE DOGS!!!!!

Wow... super dog. Deadly looks. But there is a cuteness in it.
I have a female 18 month old blue merle female. She is my baby, she has had lots of affection, she is fed on raw. I work from home so she is with me 24/7. She is used to orher dogs and our cat. American Bullies have been bred intentionally to be retain the tough characteristics of APBT (amongst other breeds) but also intentionally bred to be a companion breed. I was raised around rotweillers, staffies etc so I'm passionate aboit larger breeds. I feel in love woth the breed straight away when I met my friends XL pup. We sourced our girl from a reputable UK breeder that were still in contact with 18 months later. She's my goofy best friend. Anyone who meets her wlways say about how mellow and gentle she is. She's 40kg of pure kisses and cuddles.

I had one, and I too would cross the road on the other side if I saw this dog...not because of the dog, but because the lack of knowledge and class by some owners. These dogs are very very strong, very driven and aims to please. Ours was too lovely and soft, but at some show's I saw how mean some people made their dogs and it was sad.
