- In this video I am going to show how to use the main features of this Mercedes-Benz C300 AMG Line Premium model.
This video is perfect if you have just bought the new C-Class or if you are thinking about buying one.
Don’t worry you wont need to memorise everything I say in this video because I have made a summary sheet of what features the car has. This summary sheet will not be up to date due to all manufacturers struggling with the chip shortage so some features and options will change. I would only recommend a Mercedes-Benz Technician do all service related items. Makes it easier for warranty and breakdown related issues (if they were to occur).
hello there awesome video. have ordered the c180 and should come through next week. Obviously, different features and not the AMG version, so the Avante Garde version instead. So slightly different steering wheel, no heated seats,no built in navigation etc etc in this region. But looking forward to storing this video for any reference in the future. thank you for doing. really appreciated.

I'm going to go for the AMG line premium simply for the augmented reality. Yes it is a bit gimmicky but it is so rare to have and it looks excellent.
Probably go for the black. I love spectral blue but not sure if it is more suited for an SUV
I prefer Premium too. I have used the augmented navigation and it is super useful when you go somewhere that you are unfamiliar with.
Black is always nice. To be fair I don’t think I have seen a spectral blue C-Class yet.
@DrSaahb Don't get me wrong, the spectral blue is nice but just note sure it suits the car. Personally you can't go wrong with a black merc!

I have it as a courtesy car from a dealership and I am very impressed with interior quality. Mine has med-brown perforated seats and they make the car. I dislike gray or black interiors that became so common on MB. If you spec a new one, definitely pay for better ventilated seats in a non-gray color. It makes the car look very special.

How to fix the door open sensor warning of Mercedes C200 2022 model?
Thank you for your reply.Honestly saying, my daughter took the car brand new from Glendale California dealership, I wanted to vacuum inside but could not fight 12 V socket, but I did not look for it under the gloves compartment. Today when my daughter comes home I will for it the place you said and let you know. Best wishes
Have a look for it around there. Usually it is around there on the centre console side rather than the door side.

I was just interested in seeing the car and your detailed and thorough review of it, maybe to lessen my impatience?...
Factory pressures such as chip shortages etc have delayed every manufacturer. To be fair when I do the video it will be shorter as I will mainly show the difference in boot size, how to use the battery only while driving etc.
Informative video! Can you please help me with something though I am trying to work out of there's anyway to skip songs using just the steering wheel without having to select "Music" and swipe. Is there a quicker way to do this? Also do you know how to get the music detail to pop up on the driver display?

@@DrSaahb on the steering wheel there is the word ok with the arrows surrounding it. You slide ur finger which way you want to go and you will see on the infotainment screen the replay, pause, or skip button will be highlighted. You then just press the ok button this time actually clicking it and it will do what you have highlighted on the infotainment

Are the seat memory and mirror position controlled by buttons or touch controls?
Thanks for the comment. They are buttons. Watch from 6:20 to see how they work and you can see the buttons move for the mirror positioning and also setting a memory seat to a number.
Do you know if the standard audio system (so not Burmester) supports Dolby Atmos?
I am guessing it might. The speakers are great so you will get a good sound experience regardless. Let me know if you find out if it does have any Dolby sound technology?
Just got one, my side mirrors stopped closing automatically. Do u know how to reset it please?
Go into Settings, then find the Vehicle tab, then on the left side find Open/Close option, then find “Automatic mirror fold-in” and there you can switch it on or off.

Great Video! I was considering buying a C300, I'm not from the UK but we do get UK imports being sold where I'm from. I have a question about the fuel type, MB UK's site states the c300 fuel type as super which is 98ron, the C200 on the other hand mentions premium which is 95ron. Upon opening the fuel cap cover in the video I noticed the sticker with 95 ron in big letters and 98 ron in small letters and within brackets, does that mean that the car can run on 95ron without any problems? In addition to this I noticed in your latest video of the gle 450 that the Fuel cap cover sticker on the other hand has 98 in big letters and 95 in small letters and like the c300 the fuel type is stated as super by MB UK so I'm a little confused about this difference lol, will premium 95ron suffice for the c300 in the long run? especially if 98 isn't available.
Thanks for the comment. To be fair no-one has mentioned or asked me about this. I would recommend asking your local dealership to double check.
I am guessing but, 95ron would work but to get the best performance then use 98ron.
I am guessing MB UK mean super unleaded which is normal fuel and then you can get the 98ron aswell.

How do you change the position of the HUD?
The dealership that I go to have not had a car with Head Up Display (HUD) so I am not 100% sure how to do this. I could suggest the following:
1. On your Instrument Cluster Screen, go on to Classic Display, then scroll up and then you should have different options including Settings.
2. Go on the Infotainment screen and you may have an option under Favourites.
3. Say “Hey Mercedes, change settings for Head-Up Display.
Let me know how you get on please because I bet there are other people that will need help with this.
Then I will do a video on how to change the settings for HUD (when a car is optioned with it).
Does anyone know if the middle screen can be used as screen to display you tube or websited?
You can watch RUclips or look up stuff online either by tethering your phone data or buying a monthly data plan for the car.
Hi there, a great video :) Do you know if you can open the boot handsfree? for example using a foot movement?
Great question. On this car I tested (which was a saloon) this function was not available. I am guessing that this feature was not fitted due to the chip shortage. All manufacturers are sometimes not adding features that we normally used to get pre covid times. I will most likely be testing an estate next month so I will see if you can use the handsfree function on that. Hope this helps?

I did test the handsfree function last week and you cannot access the rear tailgate of the car handsfree. You can use the key or button on the key or you can use the button on the drivers side door.
Yes. On the 2023 C 300 coupe, you can open the boot handsfree.

The car I showed in both my videos for the New C-Class had the feature. I have been recommending both family and friends to keep a list of equipment you need in a car to ensure their new purchase will have that feature. Due to the chip shortage all manufacturers are selling cars without certain features

I've just bought a 2022 C300D AMG premium plus but it doesn't have sports+ I was told its only available in the AMG sports model, but you have it in this model which is the level down 🤷♂️

What about the Burmester sound system?
Great question. I am going to double check if this is an option. Due to chip shortages they may have either added part of the speakers or be an option. Let me find out and I will try to get back to you next week.
The car that I tested might be using some Burmester speakers but officially the C-Class does not have Burmester Surround Sound. Most likely later in the year this will be an option.
I want to see how the cruise control and speed limiter works in a separate video!

It sounds like ur car does not have that option fitted. If you go to your local dealership, they can check the specification of your car to confirm if you should have it.

This car does help abit with road signs. The car is running the latest MBUX operating system and one of the fantastic features it does is help you direct which way to turn and speed limits either on the infotainment or instrument cluster screen or even on the heads up display.
In regards to your eye sight, please ensure you go for your regular eye check ups as recommended by your Optometrist.
Hi, Getting mine in March..all I need to know next is when will a towbar be available??- otherwise its the most amazing Estate! Fab to drive and 63 interior ambient lighting colours is just crazy lol!! My 6th C class Estate but so far advanced than any of the others. Buy One!!
Wow congratulations! The towbar is an option and its called Trailer coupling with ESP trailer stabilisation - £750.00 (AMG Line Premium and AMG Line Premium Plus Estate only).

The car has done very little miles. When the car has been driven in and driven properly (not short distances) then the range will definitely increase

I've recently ordered a C300e AMG Line Estate. Would be good if u can do a video of the PHEV model C-Class.
It will be difficult to do one at the moment because currently the dealerships have AMG-Line Premium specification. After March the dealerships may have just AMG Line. Then I will have look because it would be good to see the differences such as the reverse camera only on the AMG Line.

Just found out the main display which as standard comes in “carousel” mode so you have to swipe side to side to access the icons but if you press and hold the home button on the home page, the display changes to a grid arrange to like on a phone, which I find easier to use. All I need to do now is figure out home to get the interior lights to come on when I unlock the car…… 🤷🏼♂️
I love that feature!
For the interior lights, select Home, then select Settings, then select the Lights tab, then on the left side of the screen select Interior/exterior lighting. Then you can choose to have the interior lights come on or have them off for 15 seconds etc. Let me know how you get on?
I am just editing a video on the new EQS and i have used the content that I got from that to give you instructions above. I hope they are the same as the new C-Class
@@DrSaahb I’d already got the settings correct but it still wouldn’t work. I’ve just noticed on the overhead console, a red symbol showing a picture of the car with a door open and the word OFF glowing brightly. Hit that button and hey presto, it works!!!!……😂😂😂

Also the button that I use to scroll on the steering wheel, you can also push it in the middle which is the “ok” button. This allows you to change things on that screen including setting your satnav.

I went in this weekend and the dealership suggested that the hybrid model to view will most likely be available later in the year. Most likely September so if anyone gets one sooner then they are very lucky!
I just placed an order a few days ago - it’s 6 month wait but that depends as every dealership has limited amount of slots.
Plus you will only have limited colours to choose from - 4 in total and you can only have black colour learther which is a tad disappointing as I wanted brown or red.
If you want a hybrid it’s a 1 year wait.
I remember when the previous C-Class released the hybrid model and it took about 6 months to a year. The guys at my local dealership did suggest 6 months mainly because demand will be very high for the hybrid model.

Looks like a USB connector each side of SOS button on interior lighting panel.
If so could easily plug in my dashcam. Might be touch sensors for reading lights.

Really well noticed! I didn’t notice this. I will be going to the dealership next weekend so I will update you. If I was to take a guess right now, I believe it is the microphone for the infotainment system.
I should add, You might be able to putchase a dashcam feature either now or in the future through Mercedes Me. Again I will try to find out more next weekend
Those are the microphones for hands free calls.

Looks like MB dashcam using built in cameras is £200 and saves to own usb. It's in the Mercedes.Me store.

This can be fixed by the warranty work being completed. Ask them to test it before and after, to make sure the work is completed properly.
I bought this car a week ago. It does not have Mercedes navigation, but when I'm using Android Auto with Google maps, how can I move the map from the center display to the instrument clusters?
Thank you for the question. You cannot have navigation on the instrument cluster when using Android Auto or Apple CarPlay
you can't, but you can see the pictograms (arrows) both in between the gauges in classic view and in the HUD if present, which is already a nice integration

Good question. In my opinion Estate definitely. Saloon: how old are your kids? If they are small then thats fine. If they are older and tall then consider the estate and get them in the back of the car to test. Hope that helps?
How did you install the navigation?
For UK cars we have Sat navigation as standard.
Which country are you messaging from?
@@DrSaahb u.s mine does too because I can see my location on the Mercedes’ app I just don’t know how to install it on my screen
I would recommend you get your car checked at your local dealership under warranty and ask for them to check if the Sat Nav is working correctly.

Yes there are. Depending on model and options you have one in the arm rest, one in the storage area under dash and sometimes two in the rear for rear passengers.
I don't think that is the premium trim as you stated; that's probably the exclusive trim. I have the premium trim and it doesn't have the ambient lights running the length of the door and dashboard. They are just short light strips. The exclusive and pinnacle trims have the enhanced ambient light.
Thanks for another great question. I am based in the UK and other countries have different specifications on offer. We do not have exclusive or pinnacle as an option in the UK
Hi, when I lock the door for 2024 model, my screen stays on. How do I make sure after exiting and locking the doors, my screen turns off too?
Thanks for the comment. I would get your car checked under warranty because the screen should be switching off, especially if you switch off the car and then lock the car. Let me know how you get on please?
I unlock it using the key, push the break all the way and hit the button. @@DrSaahb
@@rominataheri6812 get it booked in to be checked under warranty. Hopefully it should just need a software update and that should fix the issue.

@@rominataheri6812 you can manually switch off the centre screen but the drivers screen should switch off when you turn the car off and open the door. Let me know how you get on please?

I think there is a cigarette lighter socket hiding on the passenger side, just below the glove compartment.

If you are struggling then I will be at my local dealership in a week or two and I can make a short video to show you where it is (if it has it). Most cars have one hiding there encase you need to inflate your tires etc.

Both cars are amazing in their own right. I prefer a normal C-Class because I like to cruise but if you want a really fast car then go for the CLA45s.
Can new C Class use feet kick open the trunk same E class?
Thanks for the comment and Good question. I believe the kick function was an option but the car tested may have not had it fitted due to the chip shortage. You will find cars built from early 2020 and now will be missing some features so if there is something important that you would like to have, then ensure you check that the car has it fitted.

I didn’t notice and mosquito but I noticed my jacket had abit of fluff which I think is due to wear and tear.

It is under warranty so the dealership should fix this for you. Let me know how you get on please?
Still not a fan of the cheap looking ipad guage cluster - then secondly, the tech is way over the top.... it may be fun whilst new, but check out the cost to fix when out of warranty!!!! :)

Totally disagree - if you sit inside one it as I did recently it doesn’t look cheap at all.
The only aspect I wish it had was quilted leather seats but you can’t get everything you want in one luxury car for under £50k.
Interior looks alike a huge driving simulator....way too many huge displays....
When I sat inside and drove the car I didn’t feel overwhelmed by the screen sizes. Have you had a chance to sit inside it?
Can you watch some RUclips or Netflix while driving? heeh

You can watch RUclips and I think Netflix can work through the Browser app built into the car but only when parked or moving the car a couple mph.
If you are driving then you will hear the sound only and the video will not appear on the screen.
On that drivers screen you were hitting switches off camera and your usual “do this…” non-instruction is all the more worthless.

Design sucks, it may be very well the worst of German modern designs!
I think with time it might grow on some people. I can think of some cars that everyone thought was ugly when they first released it.
I think also pictures do not do it justice. Seeing it in person may change your mind.

@@DrSaahb I don't have likes or favourites but I'll be honest new Citroen's build quality is impressive, excessive plastic looks bad at first but after feeling it and touching doesn't squeak or rattle 0 noises, whereas c/e class will make utter noises at any touch
Fair enough. I need to check out the new Citroen models. Hopefully in the near future I can get my hands on the new models.

I have tried many manufacturers and models and really nobody makes a bad car nowadays. It all now depends on what the buyer wants and needs.
