i’ve tried cra-z-art pencils and have come to the conclusion that...:
for the pencils to work, you need *actual talent.*
and that’s why they don’t work for me.
Talent doesn't matter if the supplies are bad. Sure some people can do it, but most need good stuff to make it. The supplies you use depend on your preferences, too.

Crayola colored pencils are like the beloved less expensive brand of Prismacolored pencils when we were all younger.
I grew up with Cray-Z-Art xd
You can honestly make any colouring pencil work. I feel that though Crazy Art pencil are not top notch or anything like my favoured Prismacolor pencil crayons, They are surprisingly good. I do find the led to be too hard. I tend to do a heavy hand and am learning to curb that. LOL Wow Rae the end result was jaw dropping! I did not expect it to be so identical in pigmentation. LOL I love your reviews. They are very informative and really help you out when choosing a Coloured Pencil to use. Thank you for all your amazing art and reviews!

In my elementary I went to 2 different schools in the first one they had like millions of broken dirty crayola crayons in like blue pencil boxes.
In my second one we had to bring our own pencils and crayons.

I use Crazyart for school. They definitely changed their formula because they used to be terrible and now they are actually pretty good.
I swear the exact same thing happened to me when I was young. Faber Castell were notorious for having really, REALLY bad colour pencils and now fast forward to present day and their pencils are the creme de la creme of coloured pencils. I don't know if it was just the sucky student ones I had but they used to be so waxy and very little pigment.
Maybe everyone is thinking of "RoseArt".... Those are SOO effin hard, therefore nothing close to painted stick they're in lol I do like the color choices, if they'd just show up 😏

One more thing, have u tried the artist/professional pencils @ wm? That is the only thing I remember being on the plain white pkg., along with # of pencils (50-100). They are in-store, in the craft dept., not with all the other stationery/colors, & were $10.

That's what I'm thinking.
Roseart stuff is legitimately this close to completely unusable and will even anger children when they can't get their crayons/pencils to actually color, so I think everyone here is thinking of Roseart when they see the similar style of Crayola knock-off packaging.
@@cryptidproductions3160 Seeing so many people who dislike Rose Art makes me almost feel bad for defending their colored pencils. I use them pretty often and really like them, so maybe it's a formula difference. Not sure, because I remember them being worse when i was younger.

I grew up using the Craz-Art crayons and just hated them. The colored pencils however were more enjoyable. I do recall that they were scratchy when I used them so it is possible that the formula had changed. But hey, love the improvement.

clara b This is something I've tried to drive home to young artists I've met in my art journey. It's not the tools it's the SKILL. So many young artists are under this impression that their work will look 'professional' only if they have all the fancy products. It's so hard to break that cycle and it's such a bad cycle to get stuck in. It breeds so much negativity and that's never good for art growth. It's nice to see RUclipsrs who showcase good skilled art with budget materials.
so true!! my grandfather was an amateur artist and growing up he used only the "regular pencils" as he calls them and whatever paper he could find because he wasn't wealthy and never had any art training, and his drawings are precise and still as clear as the day he drew them, decades later. my aunt has them framed in her house. it's all about dedication and the techniques you develop over time.

Literally we have this in our class. The lead literally goes out like omg well except for me. But whatever it's all good I have other ones. They are bad tho. And yeah their blending is good I used them for my backgrounds. The pigment is rlly badddddd like u said

The worst pencils I ever used were the Grafix 50 Assorted Pencils. The come in a large tin and have 5 different pencil types which are; coloring, watercolor, metallic, charcoal, and graphite pencils. They are dirt cheap and it would be interesting if you would consider reviewing them on your channel. Pretty please? :3

This was a great video. I know you probably won't really listen to my idea but I have an idea for your next video or a video in the future whichever you prefer. Since crayons are pretty similar to color pencils maybe you can make a video on crayons. Of course I don't have to be crazy art crayons it can be whatever brand you want to do.

cool! How were u able to blend those? I have a hard time blending those and I can't smear them aah! (smearing the pencil to shade/blend was my sorta forte really; filling up the artwork with germs).
They definitely had to change the formula, I remember ensuring that my mom NEVER bought me crazart color pencils and rosa art crayons.

Back in the day my big problem with these pencils was that the outer color wrapping didn’t match the color exactly so you would go to color and get a different color on the paper. They must have improved their formula and also improved their pencil color packaging to make it actually match

It's not only about the quality of the pencil but also about the skill of the artist. This are great for kids and upstarting artist. They help you learn art techniques that you can then grow and expand when expanding your art cabinet

Sorry they break way too easily. That’s their greatest flaw.
I'm sharpening my colored pencil not a care in the world I have an idea in my head my paper is ready and then I hear *crack* * SCREAMS INTERNALLY *
Try using a sharpener for makeup, I find that for some reason they work better on colored pencils and things with sharper leads.
It’s either the sharpener or you’re like me who can’t sharpen pencils correctly.
Or maybe the pencil is fragile.
This might be the dumbest question, but do you use a tripod to take pictures and film the video? Im always trying to videotape my drawings to post on youtube but i cant find anything to put my phone on.
I use to have all the Prisma colors when I was like 13. I aquired almost all the colors,really wanted to build a portfolio I did that and ended up kinda giving up art around 18 and hit a few rough patches(also my basket of art stuff was thrown out during a move),3 months ago(I'm 29) my daughter got the 100 pack so I ordered a fresh sketchbook and the crayZ art have been ok to re-learn I've done some things I really enjoy. I messed up some too but not bad for feeling out pencil again . I'd love to get a better brand soon but we'll see how things go.

Yesterday, I went to Michael's to get a Prismacolor White pencil from their open stock-and a white marker or pen. The Levittown Michael's was out of both items! They didn't even have a white Sharpie. Tomorrow, I'm going to the Valley Stream one(only Michael's with a scooter for my bad back) and I'll see what they have available

What do you feel of rose art? I have like a 90 pack of their pencils from when I was a kid, with some crayolas mixed in there, and I use them so often and they’re honestly pretty nice in my opinion but I want to know, from someone who had actual knowledge, of you think I should infest in more expensive stuff. Many of them don’t seem that pigmented, and the color match from the color shown on the pencil and the swatch, it’s so different, but I’ve been using them for so long so I don’t know. I just want any feedback at all.

i like certain pigments from cra-z-art. Like the pastel colors I can get. They helped me get through senior year of art in highschool.
When I last used crazy art pencils, they sucked and would leave blank splotches and I tried the new ones compared to the old set I had in my bedroom and I was AMAZED!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 review honestly
