if you find upkeep is too much give sebidee better army stances mod a go reduces upkeep while armies are raiding or garrisoned in towns and cities or fortified positions i got it imported into my compilation pack that i made years ago works with AOJ and i did a unit pack as well which helps a lot of factions out sassanids get a few new ones
