At least we have nice greek style back but those outposts instead of settlements are just... the only good thing is that campaign is shorter this way. 1200+ on WH3 old world map is just an overkill in many ways, though I really like Kislevs huge territory there and even larger empire.
thanks for the video but cant believe people dont get that the administration burden is a necessary thing and it is fair also. you forgot that it is a bronze age palace economy ? where the state take care of everything?? it makes the game more realistic , and also it make it more challenging.
There's a difference between a well thought out interactive mechanic to punish the player and the most boring, arbitrary implementation - administration exact % and implementation is lazy af - it's just there to annoy, not hinder.
In terms of geographical scale sure Empire is bigger but in terms of actual size Empire is tiny, the Pharaoh map has 350 regions/settlements, the Empire map has only 145 regions, with stuff like all of France being just one single region.
I think I have to disagree with you on the administrative thing. My views are the opposite, and I think I would be annoyed if there were no mechanics in place to keep you from snowballing. Large, complex empires should be very costly and difficult to maintain.
Absolutely if the mechanic is well thought out - administration is a band aid to that instead of a more immersive, interactable solution. Currently on my run it's just a mental hindrance,my economy is insanely strong since Greeks have a way too easy time with optimizing resource production.
man, i hated the administration mechanic in troy, it's so bad that it kinda ruined the game for me, you can't field more than two full armies even in late game. hopefully they tuned it down a little in Pharaoh it was way too much in troy
Its super annoying but i personally had no problem in Pharaoh so far its just a completely unecessary headache. If they want to punish snowballing it should be through more interactive means.
@@ReptilicusTV even the supply lines in warhammer games are better than this, the biggest problem with this mechanic is that it punishes the player for playing the game such as exbanding and building more armies, hell if CA really want to make the late game fun make the AI snow ball as well. What I really want to know: is it better than Rome 2? I don't care about the particular age as long as it's antiquity so this alone isn't an advantage for Pharaoh to me.
Yeah the economy and trading side is the best it’s been in my opinion same as the battles just the setting I don’t really like iff this was set in the Roman era it would be the best game
The map needs at least Yeha (Ethiopia), Urartu, and Anshan (southern Elam) added. And hopefully (me high on hopium) that Dynasties does so well to justify a pay-for DLC set either during rise of Neo-Assyria or (preferably) Hyksos/ Old Babylon/ rise of Mitanni. - Senua

Hated Pharaohs lazy oversized chariots that are far to large for how they should be and which create hit box issues that didn't need to exist. Looking forward to actual diversity being part of the game instead of literally two choices. Needs proper unique character abilities that properly represent famous figures. Final thoughts are that this is what Pharaoh needed to be at release but this is all we are going to get and it isn't going to improve anymore from what we are getting now.
Chariots are a complete disaster for sure after the unit size increase compared to previous games, they really didn't bank on adding cavalry back then - even the post launch fixes still make them buggy as hell.
Liked the video, though your 'objective review' seems to me like it's more based in personal opinion than to be evidence based. I understand that all reviews have subjective elements, that is unavoidable. But when you said to have an 'objective' review I had hoped you would look at the evidence per subject first, and show us said evidence, before you gave your own opinion on it. This would make it more so that your viewers would be able to make up their own mind based on objective evidence. Otherwise, like I said, it's a good video, thanks for your effort!

Have you seen any Sea People kingdoms develop yet? I'm halfway through your vid and haven't seen anything like that yet.
Lukka own 2 provinces in my Agamemnon run,Tjekker (from stream) own some land in Egypt.
@@ReptilicusTV how'd you rate the AI since the update?
A bit more aggro for sure, they declared some suicidal wars on me @@jkg8108❤
A lot of Otters mentioned in this video.
We sure do love Otters
Ya nim inn now as well
it a lot like Rome 2 been paying total war game for years starting with shogun still have the disk from all the games
Daaaamn, glad you are enjoying the game !
Hi guys. One question. Why I cant vasalise in Dynasties?
Is your faction a pretender in the civil war ? It should unlock the option then / if you're already the king.
@@ReptilicusTV I started new game as agamemnon and yes. Do I have to win civil war and be king to vasalise or anybody can vasalise after? Thanks!
Main question can chariots fight cav or is it auto bad trade?
It's kinda bad trade for both tbh unless it's better cav
cant you turn off administration in campaign settings?
Haven't seen it yet i'll take a look later
@@ReptilicusTV really curious if you can put it off. Doubting of buying the game.
As far historical goes the scale and size factions included: Empire is bigger
I will make a Greek empire
It's a good overhaul yes, but the charge mechanic is still not working... Wop wop.
Well done!~
Thank you :D
I was told Diomedes/Argos would be in here but I dont see it?
He's in the Boeotian faction. Him and Ajax are playable
man, i hated the administration mechanic in troy, it's so bad that it kinda ruined the game for me, you can't field more than two full armies even in late game. hopefully they tuned it down a little in Pharaoh it was way too much in troy
Don't punish the player for playing well.
The battles still don't look good. There are fundamental issues with the battles of Pharaoh and these changes didn't address them.
do they make the rosters so small cause they now that modders do the rest?
What I really want to know: is it better than Rome 2? I don't care about the particular age as long as it's antiquity so this alone isn't an advantage for Pharaoh to me.
Yeah
Yeah the economy and trading side is the best it’s been in my opinion same as the battles just the setting I don’t really like iff this was set in the Roman era it would be the best game
Memory issues present in the original are even worse.
- Senua
Urartu is on the map ,they just used the Lullubi term for the odd barbarian reason - more of the kingdom and the other areas you mentioned should've been expanded on. I'm playing Elam and it's INSANE . Wish there was more
@@ReptilicusTV Oh I thought to my knowledge hardly any of the lands that would eventually make up the kingdom of Urartu was on the map, even if some is. But idk much about Urartu so idk
@@parthiaball Unfortunately they called them Lullubi in the game ( just the blanked term for barbs, not the OG Lullubi of the 3d millenium b.c. I highly recommend you give them a try once you play the update, their campaign is INSANE!
The battle animations of giving knees, headbutts, turning around to swing is absolutely idiotic and should be removed
Yeah the knee kicks get me every time.....
Game came out tomorow or Today?
Tomorrow,this is content creator preview
@@ReptilicusTV thanks 🙂
Hated Pharaohs lazy oversized chariots that are far to large for how they should be and which create hit box issues that didn't need to exist. Looking forward to actual diversity being part of the game instead of literally two choices. Needs proper unique character abilities that properly represent famous figures. Final thoughts are that this is what Pharaoh needed to be at release but this is all we are going to get and it isn't going to improve anymore from what we are getting now.
Chariots are a complete disaster for sure after the unit size increase compared to previous games, they really didn't bank on adding cavalry back then - even the post launch fixes still make them buggy as hell.
so dynasty pack are available?
Tomorrow,this is preview version

no paid dlc

Liked the video, though your 'objective review' seems to me like it's more based in personal opinion than to be evidence based. I understand that all reviews have subjective elements, that is unavoidable. But when you said to have an 'objective' review I had hoped you would look at the evidence per subject first, and show us said evidence, before you gave your own opinion on it. This would make it more so that your viewers would be able to make up their own mind based on objective evidence.
Otherwise, like I said, it's a good video, thanks for your effort!

@@natsukirei2016 Which faction are you gonna play first?
@@ReptilicusTV ill be going for a minor faction, i am not sure which one yet but i like the idea of starting with very little assets and building from scratch
in previous TW's, i always downloaded the minor faction unlocker mods to play a minor one

I wonder if they gonna add more faction like India, China, Scythians and many more also more gods, more weapon, armor, skin and maybe a mythos mod ? That will be great

I don’t understand those that are complaining about missile units being OP and the ‘lethality’ system.
Lethality seems more realistic and for me, that’s more fun. Usually if you get hit by an arrow in real life, it’s not a good time.
I really hope they remove the Administration mechanic at some point soon.
Other than that I am VERY satisfied.
Same,if the dictionary had a definition for anti-fun it would be TW's Administration.
@@ReptilicusTV I Love Troy (partly because I am Greek) But this mechanic sucks the joy (and my resources) out of the campaign.
Invasion fleets on the Aegean, or military expeditions through Thrace do not come cheap. In fact at the start I hardly have enough to protect the City.
The difference in resources in the 2 games is vast and I believe the lack of this mechanic on Pharaoh is the reason behind it. How is Seti for example supposed to compete when he is forced to have as many armies as his opponents?
Also Damn. That Trojan line hits hard 24:42
@@fotppd1475 they REALLY spared no expense with the banter in this game,it's wild. There's a line Bay says to enemy Canaanite generals about...spending quality time with a goat. XDDDDDD

What if I told you they used Pharaoh Dynasty as a test bed for future historical titles like Medieval 3 and Empire 2?
Wouldn't be surprised at all, same for the new armor mechanic.
how is the graphics and everything else so much worse than three kingdoms?
Great to have good cavalry, fuck the haters 😅😂
after experiencing Warhammer world in Total War game it is very hard for me to go back to historical titles. for me the fantasy world gives more entertainment and fun.
Doubt it will save the game...
thanks for the review. im burnt out from this time period. adding the troy game to this game does nothing for me. i hate the praying to gods to recieve buffs mechanics. i might give it 10 min to check out the matched combat, otherwise im going back to thrones of brittania… yep you read that right.
