@@firestorm165 Not yet. Sadly, when our army plans of getting rid of something, most of the time big czech arms corporation like STV, Zeleny sport, Excalibur army and other. Buy it for the scrap price and sell it as overpriced.
In the alternate Earth, Kleç got greenlit and put into production up to ten thousands units. Eventually becoming one of rival to RPK in worldwide arms trade..
However hello!) Is this a real Czechoslovak RPK? And is it a prototype or did it serve in some quantity? It's just that in Arma 3 I gave one to the Slovakian bandit that opposes the Slovakian police, and this machine gun is a mod from CUP.
As mentioned in the video: 1. It's not an RPK. The only thing it has it common with the RPK is the thought behind it - making a light machine gun version of an assault rifle. 2. It was never mass produced. In the video you see 2 out of only 9 prototypes ever built.
@@ShootAUT It's clear. Thanks for the clarification. I meant RPK as a counterpart and similar in appearance to the buttstock and barrel with bipods. So it will never be shown in the movies, only in the game, and we'll have to show it at the thug use in Arma 3 as a stolen prototype that came in handy for fighting with the police. Do you know why it wasn't officially adopted and what replaced it so to speak from this case?
@@DyadyushkaMalferonDrevnich Yes, we won't get to see it very often, be it in movies, games or anywhere else. There're only a few people who know that it even exists. From what I know, and what Karel mentioned in the video, the project wasn't very promising from the very beginning. The gun had reliability issues. Also, it appeared kind of pointless to the Czechs, because it couldn't do anything that the vz. 58 didn't do already. So there was no real place for it in the Czech army, which lead the project to be abandoned. Putting more money and time into a lost cause didn't make any sense. From there on out, the Czechs used a variety of machine guns from a number of different manufacturers over the decades. Sorry, but I don't have more detailed information.
Too bad the LMG configuration didn't make much of a difference. It would have been nice if they cranked out tens of thousands of these, 'cause they are cool as hell - and would have been a ton of fun on the US milsurp market 3:-) Anyway, thanks for giving us a close look at it!

Thank you, interesting pieces of history. I'm quite surprised there was no practical result from the different rifling.
Polygonal rifling will give you a small velocity increase due to being a better seal versus traditional rifling.

Shortly: Yes Czechoslovak arm accepted Dragunov rifles and also got rid of them this year (2022) 😉
