Because I live in New Zealand, and don't get a chance to see artists like Michael Schenker, and others. It is so nice to be able to watch these archived live performances. Thanks to all who make them available.
Seeing this at 14- I began a campaign to harass my folks for an electric guitar to replace the acoustic I had. I remember my grandfather making a "what the hell" face when he saw the Explorer I came home with, but vehemently defended my choice to my parents. I did hear him joking with my uncles later about how he'd have to set his table saw to come up with that monstrosity, but he always had my back!... except for the time I used never in a sentence. He didnt like "always" or "never". He'd say, "Your Grandmother made up them words to argue with me!" Rest easy, J.R.!
I know everyone writes this, but I was there!!!! His brother & Klaus Meine came on for the encore. Meine ran about, tripped and went headlong into the drum kit. Bruised ego, nothing worse
Actually, it IS fairly easy.... but creating that was genius..... never realized how much wah pedal he had cocked on that riff.... fucking awesome live tone....schenker is up there with the greats.... he's a forefather
@@matthewroberts20 Ha! I remember him coming out on stage to Captain Nemo and there was no guitar feed. He was PISSED and kicked a few monitors and speaker cabinets and then all was well.
Brilliant....memories come flooding back. I saw him on that tour at De Montfort Hall in Leicester. Unfortunately we don't get many nights like that now days.😢
I remembered that I had heard a great Michael Schenker tune but couldn't remember what it was called and what it sounded like. I'm glad that I found it, finally!
So underrated and not heard anymore. Instrumentals like this and Eric Johnson's "Cliffs Of Dover" and Joe Satriani's 'Summer Song" to name a few, always blow me away.
Schenker is a Guitar God! I've loved him (in a non-gay way of course) since I was a little kid...I'm 51 now! I need to get this on DVD...my old VHS is pretty useless at this point!
I'm 50 years old in september. This was my second VHS video and I still have.If you want the extended edition (with 4extra songs) you can find It here:ruclips.net/video/4pgWDe0-2lM/видео.html
If you look closely (every video ever posted on the web), you'll see that, for the most part, Michael Schenker doesn't use his "pinky' finger, when playing solos. Obviously, he does play with his '"pinky" finger, from time-to-time (from his "classical" up-bringing/repertoire)...
Because I live in New Zealand, and don't get a chance to see artists like Michael Schenker, and others. It is so nice to be able to watch these archived live performances. Thanks to all who make them available.
Michael Schenker is just the perfect hard rock guitarist. He has a bit of everything good.
And some totally agree
My inspiration from the Arena until now...
Thank's Michael!
Will always have a very special place in my heart for Michael, his music, and his brilliant mind.
The Master

WTF
Too funny
I know everyone writes this, but I was there!!!!
His brother & Klaus Meine came on for the encore. Meine ran about, tripped and went headlong into the drum kit. Bruised ego, nothing worse
Andrew Forbes, I was there too, man I hat a show, never wanted it to be over. The fall was funny... after everyone know he was all right.
He makes it look so easy!
Ha, but it isn't ! Try it !
So it did with Blackmoore.
Actually, it IS fairly easy.... but creating that was genius..... never realized how much wah pedal he had cocked on that riff.... fucking awesome live tone....schenker is up there with the greats.... he's a forefather
@@kevinraabe457 everything is easy to replicate like you say but its not easy by any means to feel it
Caught this tour stop in Seattle when he opened for the Nuge.
I was there also! Seattle center arena!

Still love this album after all these years. Got me through the Army with MSG

Michael you are FANTASTIC! :)
Don't catch a word but also think he's one oft the most melodic guitar player in the world, ever ...
Awesome guitar player, one of my favorites. I saw Michael on this tour, put on a great show.
i too would have a stunned face if i could pull off that performance
I remembered that I had heard a great Michael Schenker tune but couldn't remember what it was called and what it sounded like. I'm glad that I found it, finally!
Beautiful!
Fascinating introduction !
Michael Schenker was a bad ass guitarrist even before EVH or Randy Rhoads
Yup
@@kevinraabe457 yes, also very underated as on of the early neo classical guitarists.
Well, Randy was influenced by him.

+blurbeta777 Probably he is now with 60 years more fit than u ever will be ;-)
I learned vibrato from watching this video. On The Power Hour, U68. 1986.
Damn Ted had huge sounding drums. You'd feel those pound in your chest live
this band is fucking awesome
Even Michael Schenker's instrumentals seem to tell a story.
RIP Ted McKenna 💔
Gosh , that guitar solo just blows you away , so epic .
That he wrote this masterpiece shows how much higher bars he was jumping over than other HR/HM musicians.
Haha! I was at this concert 😍
This never gets old
Love this mans playing!
The thank you series is his best work simply amazing

Was you there?
Man, tone and feel....

Back in the Village? 😳
Yep! Adrian Smith surely was "inspired" by this, lol! Maiden stole the whole riff..

hmmm i always heard that he never used his pinky. he clearly does around 2:30

I just don't dig the sound of his guitar in msg
Loved his tone with UFO and of course the last couple of years
Still DOPE
Derek should have sang for this band he is better than any MSG singer
Better than the studio version imho.
Drum tempo likely from ted McKenna?
yes that is ted on drums
RIP Ted
You forget or don't how know coked up he was back then and still play like that.
