    Got to agree with you on Dehumanizer - absolute god tier album.
    I assume all review copies now tend to be mp3s? Certainly when I was doing reviews a few years ago that was how the website would get them.
    Though about 70% of my reviews were from copies I'd bought myself.

    I used to have a lot of advance tapes in the early to mid 90s as well. Got them mostly from friends who were writing for Metal Hammer or Rock Hard Magazine. They´re all gone now, I sold them when I moved out of my parent´s house. I still had the advance tape of Alice In Chains´ debut and sold it about a year ago. I got an amazing 2,50 Euro for it, hahahaha.....
    "Dehumanizer" is among my fave Sabbath records as well, I saw them in 1992 with The Almighty, Testament, Helloween, Slayer, W.A.S.P. and Iron Maiden (Superrock, Mannheim, Germany, Aug. 22nd 1992).

      Hello sir! Great to hear from someone who also has knowledge of these tapes. Wow, yes, it really is weird how most of these tapes don't fetch a very high price. That gig you saw sounds amazing. That same year, I saw Sabbath in London with Testament supporting, so that wasn't at all bad!

    The Music For Nations label always invokes happy memories, they were pretty much a blind buy guarantee in the 80s, well until the AOR bands crept into the mix in the late 80s. Interesting to see the Nuclear Assault under marketed with the MFN logo but with the Under One Flag cat # - spin it, I would! These videos are great Jason, love getting the skinny into the heyday of metal journalism back then. That KH tape is very cool, Gamma Ray are a favourite band of mine. If you have more of these I'd love to see them!

    • @PossessedByMetal666
      @PossessedByMetal666  2 года назад +1

      Hey there! Good spot about the MFN, UOF discrepancy there. I will indeed spin this thing. And thanks - I'm glad you're enjoying this video. I knew it would be more niche than some of my other stuff, but it's nice to have a mix, eh?

    Fav Sabbath album has to be "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" the first album I heard of theirs - visiting my Metalhead Cousin (who got me into rock and metal in the early 90s when I was 12 years old....... Listening to it on Vinyl and was blown away - so many memories.

      @@PossessedByMetal666 My Cousin was gently introducing me to Metal and Rock. He got me hooked on KISS and Alice Cooper and was moving me into harder stuff lol Thrash was too much for me at the time so he started with 60/70s metal. The classic bands of the time - when I heard that opening riff I was blown away and the vinyl cover pulled me in absolutely love the albums cover.

    Interesting, I used to have a few of these (bought at record fairs etc), like you mention it's surprising that they are generally still cheap if you do come across them. In most cases they're cheaper than the actual commercial cassette releases go for ! Very much enjoyed the video anyway cheers!

    Nice collection there Jason. I own a few of those albums but they're just the albums not these cool tapes you're showing here. Have you got any demos too? As in before bands got a deal? That would be interesting to see as well. Bands I was involved in sent tapes to Kerrang in the hopes of getting noticed but we never did but if you've got SKINDRILL or LOWLIFE demos I'd be over the moon to see/hear them. Shades of God is the only PL album I like, I like that Trouble album too. Death is the big one here for me though.

      Well, it very much varied from company to company - everybody did them differently. The Coroner tape in this video is clearly a C60, and the original sleeve is even still in the case along with the record company's own sleeve!
