I was fortunate to watch "Dreamers Never Die" in the movie theater, for one night showing. I thought it was brilliant documentary. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Thanks for covering this. I resisted the bumf..ditto and fortunately the standalone Blu-ray,was more in my price range. The Blu-ray package had a 4K format which I couldn’t play. Great film/documentary which I saw in the Cinema on a limited screening in the U.K. The film is good as it draws in the casual fan as well. Ronnie’s pre-Wendy marriage is airbrushed out the proceedings, and Ronnie’s adopted son,Dan,should have got more camera time,perhaps as a bonus feature.

Totally with you, the faux aged look annoys me no end these days. As for the set, I dunno.. the 'showbag' style bunch of tat with logos on it never does much for me. And after all that, the blu-ray isn't in a proper blu-ray case, just a sleeve! Argh.
i love dio but overall i don't like it. the discs should of been in a actual dvd case, the fake wear on the art is minimal but unnecessary, putting the doc's title on everything is a bit redundant, and it looks like they had to do something with the extra promo items so they made a box set to get rid of them. surprised the poster did not have it. it bugs me when bands (or record companies) incl useless or unrelated items in box sets. here we have tissues, a wrist band and coasters. really? they should of incl a book with the trading card pics in it (and various memorabilia, expanded text, etc...)
Hey there! Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. It's certainly true that the set could have gone deeper. It only occurs to me to now that they could have included a bonus DVD with hours of interview footage!
Motley Crue done the same with their reissues. Fake ringwear. Its cringey. Im not a big enough fan to buy something like that and I think that Wendy is overdoing his catalogue. There are so many versions of everything coming out this last 3 or 4 years. Cassettes will be next.
I wouldn't say that there's way too much stuff released. The vinyl reprints/prints were O.K. since a couple was never before released on vinyl and like Holy Diver itbwas actually out of print. And the newly mixed version of HD was actually a brilliant release. Well, the vinyl boxset after the individual releases was a bit unnecessary but then again I had no need to go for it. But if they do equally good work with remixing and packing The Last in Line I'm fully on board. This Dreamers Never Die box was a bit of a letdown. I understand that it's for the collectors and completists but I don't think that the content meets the high price of it. I bought the basic 4K/bluray release and even that fell a bit short. A booklet would have been in place there and not just the two discs and nothing else. Now, what we would really need is a live video and record from the Lock up the Wolves Tour. Every other significant lineup has at least some material released. The low-quality stuff here on YT alredy shows that it would be well worth it. Totally different lineup, young and skilled guitarist, many songs they never again played live, some older classics not that often played, crazy keyboard solo from Jens and last bigger stage production. I guess I could dig up a couple of more reasons but I think there's enough already. And I would be more than happy to get me some rarities like those Japanese bonus tracks, the songs Ronnie sang on other artists albums, demos and unfinished stuff all in one boxset companied with a book including all the information photos etc. I'm pretty sure there would be plenty of good stuff worth releasing and actually highly interesting from a fan's view.

@@jimmyagates No, I totally know what you mean. Will I REALLY take the coasters out and get mug stains on them... or will I keep them in the box all pristine? The safe money's going on the latter. 🤔😆
