  • Howdy !!
    I think I might have left it a bit too long to give my filter a PROPER clean… after noticing a bit of a mark on one of my koi, I thought I should give my pressure filter it’s first proper clean…
    Not too happy with what I found, to be honest!!
    In this video I give everything a good clean out, including the UV, sponges and a full dismantle of the All Pond Solutions PFC-5000.
    I also do a full water test with my Colombo water testing kit.
    In addition I also give a long term review of this pressure filter having had it fitted on my tank for about 14 months.
    Thanks for watching, and please do remember those maintenance schedules!!

    Little tip - These filters from APS are actually rebranded SunSun filters from china. You can buy an entire set of filter foams, shipped for under £2 (but they are vac packed do need to be soaked for 24hrs to grow into shape)

      @@djenson ah, nice one! £17 on Amazon, £1.44 on Ali Express (that’s including postage 😆) just ordered a set, thank you 👍🏻👍🏻

    Wow ,did'nt think those sponges would break down like that ,spares can be bought 😏i have the auto 20k one from Febuary, on my 7k litre pond,regular rinsing done one full clean ,maybe get a bottle brush cleaner for the pipes ,you know the type long wire handle 🤔,nice tip on the bag at the end of the pipe, i'm not convinced about this filter ,but is anyone really happy those easy pods and drum filters some one is always modding their filters ,liked and subbed 😉

      Yes, it really surprised me too! I’ll definitely order a replacement set for when I do the next clean out :) Thanks for the sub too, glad you enjoyed the video 👍🏻👍🏻

    Imo pressure filters n koi dont work. Had 3 oase pressure filters costing me over £1300 when i first started n I had nothing but issues until I bought a nexus. Go for an eazypod, nexus, screenmatic or a drum for much better n easier koi keeping best pond advice you'll ever have mate

    Nice video Charles 👍
    I've had similar issues with Pressure Filters and gave up with them after a few months.
    Have you thought about getting an Easypod instead?
    You need to water your plants with that waste water, it's like liquid gold.
    Hope you're well.

      @@CBersPond hey mate, thanks for dropping by!! Can’t help but think an Eazypod is overkill and also a massive unit compared with the size of my tank…but, to be honest, I’m starting to warm to the idea !! 😆 I saw your most recent video where you had your EZ pond delivered, how’s it going getting it set up and running??

    • @mikef6474
      @mikef6474 Месяц назад +2

      I have used pressure filters for years, I know people don’t rate them but they do work. I do a full clean twice a year and replace sponges every two years

    • @chazkoi
      @chazkoi  Месяц назад

      @@mikef6474 yea, I think that’s the important thing really, to keep on top of that sort of maintenance schedule, and also to factor new sponges into the ongoing running costs 👍🏻

      @@chazkoi I had an Easypod on my IBC fry tank, and it worked really well.
