@@GrandRoofingInc hi thanks for all your videos, I just had a new roof installed a couple days ago, I'm in buffalo ny. I have some concerns about the shingles around my b vent. And day 1 the Temp was 20 for a high followed by 2 50 days and rain now back to cold with snow. Could I send you a couple pictures? Need help. Thanks Jim
@@jamessafy4223 Hi James, yes you sure can. If you look on the about page of my channel you will find an email contact.. I will say I don't check it regularly though. I try to at least check it once every week or 2, at least until the channel grows. I will keep an eye out for it though.
@@GrandRoofingInc great thanks I will send you an email now

I would love to learn what causes those splits above shingle keyways. I know they say thermal expansion but why are some houses more susceptible than others? I've seen in all brands of shingles
Funny how many roofers can’t grasp the fairly easy physics about water flowing downhill and how to lap materials properly to prevent infiltration.
It's also mind blowing how many homers just want to get a good deal and not make sure their roof is installed correctly. Anyone can shoot shingles down on a roof and make it look decent from the ground. It just takes a little extra knowledge to make it not leak.
Really though.. its not rocket science, the guy that taught me always said "just think about how the water wants to flow"
Glad to see snow melting spring is near can't wait
Yes definitely can't wait!
Back on January 29th I had seen a flock of robins which is a migratory bird that is only in our area in the summer. I was confused as to why they were here. Either they are extremely confused or they know something we don't. Either way I can't wait to get back out there.
That roof installation is crap, it needs to be replaced.
Ya between poor install and all the cracks going on everywhere, its leaking in multiple spots, it needs to go
Those chimneys are the worst, some only have a 2 inch flange
That just looks like a guaranteed leak, im Never gonna understand why people who rely on caulking to seal a roof can't even be bothered to do a nice job of the caulking. I'd just flash that out like a normal brick chimney and move on
On the PVC pipe, if that was not a lifetime pipe boot, it's only a matter of time before the material deteriorates causing a leak.
The silicone in the lifetime pipe boots make all the difference
Headwall, backwall step.
Tear off for sure. Nice video bro
"We're getting other estimates" Is a common phrase used by homeowners that think they're saving money, but end up either spending way way more than they thought they'd be or passing along a very expensive future roof replacement to the buyer of their home.
I mean if they can pass this on to someone else that's a smart decision by the homeowner.
@@mr.g937 I would say that's actually very, very foolish; especially if the homeowner knows they're not getting the job done right.
"Smart" wouldn't be my choice of adjective.
@@ScottWConvid19 Who cares if it's done right if it's going to become someone else's problem?
@@mr.g937 Those that understand the laws of sowing and reaping and do not want to intentionally harm another.. you know, the kind of people that actually love their fellow man... and they that fear the Lord. 🤷♂️

LUV UR ATTITUDE AND PATIENCE NOT BASHING THE PAST ROOFER U R RITE !!!! 35 YEAR CONTRACTOR IN FLORIDA USA !!!. WHY NOT USE LEAD ON PIPE FLASHINGS ????? JUST. SAYING NO HATE ?????
We always flash our chimneys with step flashing then finish it with lead flashing. I will say this is the first time I seen one painted all white lol
Can you show us or make a vid on what you use to record these inspections and repairs? I do a lot of insurance work and would love to record my repairability attempts.
I love these kind of repairs easy and fun to do
0lus the leak is obvious
