Brain I’ve watched a couple of your videos and you have not only motivated me but also helped me get over others saying I can’t do it… listening to you talk about venturing off has helped me more than I can explain. Thanks
I repaired three rows of poorly installed three-tab on my father in-laws house. I would hear your voice talking about poor nail placement. Got the placement correct. Thanks
Man I laughed so hard when I saw the straps holding that gutter up! The main thing I do is gutter repairs and replacements, and I mean... I have never seen someone do that before. I've seen them held on with wire, glued on, one guy stood up a step ladder and tied a board from the ladder to the gutter with a rope to keep it from falling down... I mean I've seen alot but I've never seen that one! Good thing the roof's plenty steep lol.
I generally call the brace your talking about for the rafters a collar tie or ridge collar. Also rafter ties further down help a lot too. That is gonna be fun tear off hopefully not too much of an onion.
That electrical conduit to the shed is so wrong. They should have used over head wire and installed a … drip loop to stop water problems 😂 and we call the rafter braces collar ties here

im so confused that people actually 'roof over'? that sounds so silly. the roof is bad. so now your putting a big ole bandaid over it? is this common?
It is done more often then you would think. It's all about $.
But shingles layered over wood shingles? Never seen that, until now. 😊
almost a guarantee that homeowner is going to cringe at a full price roof replacement + their framing isn't done right to even spend that amount.
