Hi everyone. So after a long and tedious job search in New Zealand I can share a few tips for those of you who are IT Professionals like me. The only option for those of us in India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka is accredited visa for which one needs to get a job offer from an accredited employer. Now I applied for (Business Analyst) vacancies with each and every employer, not even a single one was left out. My CVs were custom made as per the employer requirement and I included Cover Letters as well but the majority of the employers didn’t respond. Few of them did, but they basically stated that they preferred a candidate who is either a visa, or a permanent resident. It’s next to impossible for highly skilled workers to get a job in NZ as they prefer candidates locally. The only way to get a job for IT Professionals I suppose is to get the holiday work visa and to then apply for opportunities. Again, I’m not saying all this to demoralise any of you but I just don’t want anyone to waste time like I did. However, I did find many visa sponsorship opportunities for nurses and chefs, fork operators or those who could do heavy lifting.
Thanks a lot for this info! Would you have any idea about sales or marketing jobs in NZ? How does that go about and as an Indian Citizen, is accredited employer visa the only way to move? would appreciate your thoughts on this. thanks in advance!
@@riyalalwani1568 Yes accredited visa is the only way. mate any other job apart from manual work will be hard to find. New Zealand usually prefers low skilled workers from India. Those in skilled categories like ourselves will have a hard time. I did get few responses and basically they all said the same thing which is that, they would rather prefer candidates from New Zealand first. I even asked one of them for feedback and had them check my CV and cover letter to see if it was as per the NZ standard and they said skills and CV are fine it’s just that they prefer candidates locally. Don’t want to demoralise you though since you never know. Here’s a small tip. Most of the jobs there (irrespective of profession) need a driving licence. It’s mandatory to enter yes or no while filling up the online job forms. Always select ‘yes’ for driving licence if you have an Indian licence since that license will be valid for 1 year in NZ. Selecting ‘no’ would mean your profile would be automatically rejected by their system and won’t even get to a human eye. All the best!
@@MrIncognito-z5e sorry I don’t know about student work visa but if someone can’t find an intern work related to their field of study in 3 years then they would find a hard time landing a job in NZ. 3 years is a long time
This policy change is good for people who are already in NZ, not for the offshore candidates, offshore candidates are getting benefited cut off marks are coming down only..no use otherwise.
