- Walter Semkiw, MD is interviewed by Arizona Bell and Morgan Garza on Spirit Guides Radio. Walter describes the reincarnation research of Ian Stevenson, MD of the University of Virginia, involving young children who have spontaneous past life memories that can be objectively validated. These cases show that religion, nationality and ethnic affiliation can change from one lifetime to another. This understanding can help create a more peaceful world, as most conflicts and wars are based on differences in these cultural markers of identity. The reincarnation of Anne Frank in the persona of Barbro Karlen as a case in point. Walter also discusses big picture issues such as why we reincarnate and when the need to reincarnate ends. I was an MD of German descent during the early part of the Great Depression just south of Pittsburgh. My Swedish American wife and I drowned off the shore of Spring Lake NJ after the ship we were on caught fire upon a return trip from Havana (TEL Morro Castle disaster, 1934).
We were granted a *reunion* in this lifetime and found each other in late 2008 on an international dating website. When I first saw her primary photo ...even though she was formally Swedish and now Filipino, I immediately recognized her. I came to think of it as Soul Recognition. We initially agreed to be friends, and without realizing what butterflies signified at the time, we called each other "butterfly friends" in her language "Paruparo mga kabigan". Later on, when she asked if I was going to come visit her, I immediately responded "of course", as though I knew it was destined. Within six months we married each other in the Philippines. It was later in 2011 that she came to the US.
In July 2009 I revisited my new bride and we took a trip to central Philippines, Cebu, Bohol, Panglao, Boracay. It was Alona Beach on Panglao that details of our previous life together started unfolding. I had been on that very island back in 2007 and strongly felt that the woman that I'd bring back there in the future would be revealed as the one I am destined to be with. After sunset I told her we should go down on the beach. The area strangely reminded me of some things long ago, something to do with an old Spanish era castle like fortress, soldiers on horses, and something to do with dead bodies along the beach.
As we sat on the sand of Alona and took a photo together, the lights of Amorita resort was in the background. When I stood up and looked at the photo on the camera, an intense energy sensation shot down my neck and entire backside ...like goose bumps, but 100 times stronger. I was unable to do anything for a minute, and then we both looked at the photo together. The lights of Amorita behind us appeared as flames of fire in the photo, and strangely shaped like people (souls). "Oh my God, the bodies along the beach I had mentioned to you ...they died in a fire". We were both frightened at that point and quickly left the area to get transportation back to our lodging. We began preparing for our next destination, Boracay.
My wife wasn't feeling well at times in Boracay. We didn't know at the time she was pregnant. The resort we were at was nice, but overall, Boracay seemed a rather spooky place that I'll talk about in some later writings. After our stay there, we caught a flight out of Cebu back to Manila and then bus on toward her residence. Later when it's time for me to leave back to the United States, I catch an early morning bus for the long ride back to Manila airport. Soon after I got situated on the bus, a strange altered state of consciousness happened. It felt like a wave of something passed through me and changed my feelings instantly. Suddenly I felt happy and it told me that everything will be okay, that we are going to have a child. Then I saw a vision above me, three circles connected representing Father Mother and child and the name of our baby pronounced.
A few days after I arrived back in the US, my wife had an unusual and quite vivid dream that we were both together and something about a boat. She was typing it all out in Yahoo chat, but the way she communicated it, I thought it was just a typical romantic type of dream, water, a small boat, beautiful landscaping, etc.
It wasn't until later when she came to America that we again talked about the time she had a dream of us and the boat. So, I then learn that the boat was actually a large ship, and she goes over once again what we were doing on it. Amazingly, it was exactly the memories I have kept with me since my childhood days. What we mutually remember is we are waiting in line for dinner on the ship, we finally make it up to the bar area for drinks, then suddenly she needs to leave to go up to our room and get something, while they have me seated at our assigned table to wait until she returns.
She describes leaving to go to our room, climbs a series of stairs, stops and looks out a round porthole window at one point, goes up further and steps out unto a sundeck area with bright sunshine and looks over the extension of the moving ship into the vast ocean. Suddenly there's a scene change and she experiences a sinking feeling and falling in a deep state of sleep, the same as those that survive drowning describe. Later in America she relives being in a lifeboat along side the black hull of the ship at night time, rain and cold, large swells of ocean, sitting facing a man in white who she must help when it's time to row away toward land. At some point she finds herself in the water, her body finally being slammed up against large dark rocks near shore.
My memory is a worker walks me over to be seated at a round table nicely prepared, standing white fabric napkins, silverware, menu. I feel a bit self conscious sitting alone waiting, nervously touching the silverware, watching the workers come and go in the area from the left of me, a kind of buffet like setting a bit in the distance and noticing other people at their tables. Suddenly, there's a scene change and I see a kerosene like lamp that gets knocked over and starts a fire that grows incredibly fast. Everything is thick smoke and flames. I begin to fall downward, sinking and falling into a deep sleep. In a later dream I'm suspended in air at bird's eye level looking at the outside of the burnt destroyed ship, the sky filled with fog and mist, and I end up at a place called Spring Lake. Later while reminiscing this, because of the name of the place, I am a bit confused as to whether the ship was on a lake or the ocean. Later on I relive a scene where I begin ascending upward into the sky and see land and ocean below and an intense blue above. The higher I ascend, the greater a feeling I can't quite describe comes over me, like a divine source.
Including many other memories we have not mentioned here, especially those of our personal lives prior to the disaster, we are totally left without any doubt whatsoever. Reincarnation is in fact a reality.

striking resemblance. wow! this clip is mind blowing to me although i have believed in reincarnation my entire life, and read quite a bit of material including edgar casey's work. but this is in the present time and presented scientifically so that i can refer it to other people who are skeptics. i have many ideas about my previous lives which, of course... i have no way of proving, but i am convinced of their being factual. i had never heard of walter, but having found him, i must meet him.
Walter Semkiw passed away on June 9th 2022. He retold my story of reincarnation many times in his books and lectures. He is greatly missed by those who knew him. Rest well my friend and after a while who knows, maybe you will make a comeback. JK

After my NDE I knew as a child in my previous life I would look forward to each and every Christmas. Silas Dent would dress up as Santa and give us gifts. I died of a illness young, my parents loved me and we lived in Gulfport near St Petersburg Fl.
Funny as a child I never had any question as to why things looked familiar. However after a NDE I knew why. They both are connected and explain much, this physical world is nothing more than a womb to permit development. Just how many times are each soul reincarnated? The why is the real question. We all need to Love and do our best to be what it is like there. I know when I was there it is all I could feel.

Walter have you ever heard of a past life experience that was revealed by NDE?
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, I do not know of such a reincarnation case.
I have had a NDE that both met with my past dead mother. She reassured me everything was going to be alright. The entire place was nothing but pure comfort and love. I also had my mind opened . My past life was that of a young child who died within the first decade of life. We all are continually reincarnated after each passing. We need to make the inside like the outside and become love so we can stay. I know my purpose now.
I thought that Walter was very interesting. I was turned off by the woman who kept making snide remarks about Donald Trump. I mean really! Sneaking political bias into the interview is self-serving and far from an impartial discussion of this fascinating topic. You are better than that. This commend has nothing to do with my own political views. It has to do with the unkindness toward one of our elected officials. I would take this same stance regardless of which side of the isle the derogatory comments were aimed at. If we come here lifetime after lifetime to get better at embracing all of humanity, this verbal behavior is counter productive.
