    I have the ZR2 version of this truck and I absolutely love it. At $51k USD it was a little spendy but I think it is a great package in comparison to the rest of the mid size market with a ton of interior features and offroad capability. The infotainment is a definite high point. Of course it is a big screen and the wireless carplay works seamlessly but what I really love about it is the customizable shortcut bar on the side. The carplay runs in a slightly smaller window which leaves me quick access to my 360 cameras, music, vehicle status (temperatures and trip/mpg info), and carplay. The lighting selector is a little button on the top row that is always selectable and the lack of a lighting stalk has been a non-issue.
    In comparison, the new Tacoma offers the 14" screen but doesn't offer the customizable shortcut bar. It gives you an oversized view of carplay but anytime you need to view a different setting you are having to fumble around in carplay to get out of it. It doesn't seem like they added any capability to the head unit by going from 8" to 14" other than making everything twice as large. The 11" in the GM twins is a great in between size and is standard on all trims.

    Awesome! Especially for those who think Tacomas look and perform kind of boring, like driving a paper bag. This has so much more presence and style.

      Prices for the full-size pickup trucks have gone up considerably in the past year. We were looking back at the 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali we did, even with $3k rims it was coming up to about $84k CAD. Today the same truck would be around $100k.

    In the US the at4x only comes with MT tires from the factory. So not ideal for the snow. I'm assuming canda gets AT instead.

      I believe so, but GM also puts winter tires on these vehicles as they're required by law in the province of Québec.

    Wow dude your 5'11 and have trouble scooting into the AT4X... I'm 5'7 --- fingers crossed I don't need a step ladder. I ordered my truck without the running bar / boards / steps because my last truck was just always scraping my pant leg and getting my work clothes dirty every day... lol. Maybe the trucks are a bit over sized for me.... hmmm

    • @live4mac
      @live4mac 8 месяцев назад

      I have the ZR2 and at 6'2 I'm able to step in without too much difficulty. I still decided to add the front steps because my GF at 5'7 had to climb in and complained about it every time! One annoying thing is there isn't an A-pillar handle on the drivers side so you are using the steering wheel to pull yourself up. I figure the side steps will probably save the seat bolsters as well since we aren't sliding off them. You should get ~$125 in GM rewards points with the purchase of your truck that you can put towards the steps. I do like the ZR2/AT4X step design because you can remove them with 4 bolts each if you expect to need the extra clearance. I only did the front set, because I rarely have rear passengers, and I think it visually gives the truck a little more of a pre-runner look to it. It makes it looks more like an extended cab than a crew cab. Either way you can't go wrong and they are very easy to add later!

      But that’s what it is. Yes they’re bigger than trucks of 20 years ago, but so are full-size trucks. They’re enormous. The segments adjust based on the products.

  • @CrowCreekOutdoors
    @CrowCreekOutdoors 8 месяцев назад +1

    $55k for a midsized pickup? No thanks, GM and UAW. Nearly 7x what people paid 30 years ago. Inflation calculator says an item that cost $8,000 in 1992 should cost $17,508.25 today in 2023. So why do trucks now cost $50k to $100k plus? Because labor unions and foolish consumers.
