don’t know if it’s just me, but I like Jennie’s singing tone. She has this type of folksy, raspy,type vocal range. I ain’t no expert but she has a unique sound, like a Rihanna or Sia. I’m excited bout what she can produce because now shhe's a ceo of her own company 🔥🔥🔥

I am in love with her singing, too. But I am not so sure, she didn't get any vocal training as a trainee. I do remember she herself said it something like that sometime. But I also recall that, in the vlog in the occasion of BP's 3d anniversary, Lisa gave Jennie's credits for giving her first singing lessons [in addition to her kindness in making Lisa's life bearable in a foreign country]. It still could be true that Jennie did not get any vocal training at YGE, and that she acquired that skill before becoming a trainee, enough to pass on some tips to Lisa. I absolutely don't mean to call Jennie a liar, but I suspect she meant a whole lots more time and efforts of the YGE teachers were devoted to train in her in rapping than in singing. Lisa is my bias. But I would have no problem calling the versatile multi-talented Jennie "The Ace of BlackPink". Anyway, I don't mean to take down Jennie nor @BlueprodV here. Just some thoughts on her wonderful voice. We are among friends her.

Every trainee go through atleast basic vocal training regardless of their position or passion. Its basic idol training system.

Jennie's voice is a cross between soulful and husky her voice during the korean song sounded so angelic/ soulful & then she switched back to her sultry and husky vocals during the English part
