    Great video that makes the program easy to understand. We've increased our audience and long-term engagement with Discovery Mode and recommend it highly to any independent musician or band that's eligible!

    Thanks for the simple and easy explanation. Way better information than that provided on Spotify's website.

    What is the minimum required budget? Or average budget for these results? Are you able to share this information?

      From my understanding, they take a percentage of your stream revenue. You don’t pay anything out of pocket.

    Is it only available in the US?

    • @BandBuilderAcademy
      @BandBuilderAcademy  Год назад

      No, it's available in most countries now, but you have to be with one of those 10 distributors mentioned. You also have to have an active Spotify for Artists "team" that’s registered in one of the 40+ countries listed on the Getting Access Page - support.spotify.com/us/artists/article/getting-access-to-discovery-mode/?ref=related
      Your distributor can be added as a "team" member (that might be automatic), so as long as your with one of those 10 distributors, you should be fine. That is all I know about territory, any other country related questions, see Spotify's website link above. Todd

    Damn. 25k minimum monthlies. Hard for newer and smaller bands to hit that. I think our lifetime listener on Spotify is around 5000 people. I guess this is why people were gaming the system with bots to jumpstart their profiles

      I think Spotify has lowered it now. I've had several clients get it with 10,000 monthly listeners. It's more about how many algorithm streams you're getting than streams. So 5,000 algorithm streams in one month may be enough to trigger eligibility. You're correct that by keeping that threshold high, they were just sending the message to new artists to "game the system" just to become eligible for Discovery Mode. Not good. So I think they have recently realized their error and now artists are getting it sooner - once they have good monthly activity in "radio" and "autoplay" algorithms.

    Do you absolutely need to have three songs out in order to be eligible? We have one song out right now....did 120 K streams in a month and we have 37 thousand monthly listeners..... but we just have one song out. We meet the 25 K monthly requirement and multiple streams from Radio and autoplay but yeah not three songs out. and oh yeah we use Distrokid and based in an eligible territory (Canada) Anyway to bypass this or just wait until we release our third single?

      Just make 2 more songs and enroll? I personally dropped discovery mode a few weeks ago as I went from 120k monthly listeners before to below 75k after joining. It just swapped my GOOD weekly algorithmic plays for radio instead and never pushed anything I had in radio. I have about 200 songs on Spotify. If I could I would only enroll 1 or 2 top songs in the programme. But I don't have that option on my Distributor.
