Sometimes, business analyst degree or Manage Information Systems are good degree. Truly, people who understand the software and meets the customer needs. Software Sales people make the best business analysts..
Very few companies will hire people in those roles without a degree. I have been in software development a very long time. Those areas require specific skills. If you do get in without a degree you will earn 20k to 30k less. No PM comes in without a degree and certs. Scrum master is NOT a PM. You are giving people a false sense of software development. We had a guy try to jump into a developer role. He said he took algebra. All the developers laughed. You need at least calculus. Many developers have taken higher math beyond calculus. Ya there is more math. If you just want to build webpages you can get away with less but you will earn far far less like half the income.
Hi Tracy, I'm currently going through a boot camp to learn coding and plan to advance into a more structured learning environment after the boot camp to become more proficient at building on the skills I'm learning. I have a doctorate in pharmacy, have taken high level math and science courses throughout my college career (calculus, trig, pharmacokinetics, etc.). I've worked in management and corporate level in the Healthcare industry. My question is, if I become proficient in a few languages, AWS, SQL and have some training in AI, how difficult would it be to get hired on as a software developer and make a comparable salary ($120k)? I figured even if I don't get hired as a software developer, I could use the knowledge in a role like Pharmacist Informaticist.
Great video for someone who wants to get into IT without coding and is looking for ideas! However the part about Project Manager and Scrum Master was so very wrong and I feel the need to clarify. Project Manager, Scrum Master and Product Owener are all very different roles and they were mushed together here. Anyone who's interested in any of these roles, please look them up separately. The duties you described do not belong to Scrum Master. Yes, the Scrum Master helps the team to work more efficient and stay on track by conducting 5 Scrum Events, but the responsibilities on backlog, planning, review and tasks belong to either a Product Owner, The development team or both. Scrum Master makes sure the Scrum team is following the Scrum framework described in Scrum Guide, helps remove external or internal problems the Team might have that are blocking their productivity, facilitates meetings, helps resolve conflicts and supports Product Owner. What Scrum Master actually does during the day may vary from company to company, because Scrum is a framework and only describes general rules, while the practices are free to be chosen on your own. Project Manager deals with stakeholders, budget and planning and is often alloting tasks while Scrum Master does not (unless someone requires facilitation or a reminder of Scrum principles).
A big thumbs up for the business analyst role. The BA role doesn't have to be nebulous either. I'd be happy to give everyone an overview of the BA role.
Hi, I have no tech experience what so ever I have a nursing degree, and I'm back in school for a computer science degree. Do you know of any absolutely entry-level jobs that can get my foot in the door.
Ok, I just watched the second part of the video. I'm not deleting my comment just to tell you that you already have one more subscriber. Good content :)
If you do a manual QA, then it is good to have small kids. Give them a device and see if they can brake it. They can find also hidden features, which is certainly cool. Regarding coding? It is already dead, and actual coding will have gone in next 10 years. So soon we will have jobs as an operator of a coding machine. This job also won't require coding, but it will require to understand it.
ohh you forget tech consultant which is my role. I don't code (I'm good without it lol) but depending on the consulting area you can do it with out coding.
Hi Bukola I am confused, in your 'about' section you say you are a "software engineer". but in other videos you call yourself a software developer? Are they the same thing or you can be one or the other? You inspire me to keep working on my journey as a self taught coder xoxo
I think you misinterpreted scrum master role which is actually what I do. Scrum isn’t a methodology but rather a framework under the agile methodology, we have scrum, kanban, crystal, xtreme programming and likes. So we have just three roles in the team and they are product owner, development team and scrum master. Product owner/scrum master are by far two different roles and it is a major anti pattern. It is not advisable to wear two hats especially when you aren’t good in the PM role. It could make you lose your job if you don’t know the job or keep up. Just an overview of scrum master. I can’t keep writing because it’s more in-depth. Weldon bukola. You are doing well.
Hi love your videos! How does one break into manual QA testing without experience? Is there a boot camp you recommend or online courses to take? Thanks so much 💕
Well you don’t need coding to be a qa, but some companies ask you to know some programming languages I’m a scrum master and I haven’t found any job 😢 it’s been frustrating because I got my certificate 1 year ago and everyone wants at least a scrum with 5 years of experience.
I am a product manager. Can you upload a fast track for this career. I'm in NYC, in the data analytics field on the low end ($69k), and I'm trying to get to $125k asap. Is this reasonable for NYC?

Keep trying, training & praying. Many people make others think getting & keeping a tech job is easy, when that is far from the truth...
That’s finding a job in tech in general. It’s not uncommon to apply to hundreds of jobs before you land one. Assuming you’re qualified ofc.
Great video. I'm definitely more focused on utilising my PM experience to move into more IT/Tech focused roles. 😉
Hello I want to became a product manager or a customer success manager, what should I major in college? my first year and first semester I’m a computer science major but I don’t like it and next semester I’ll be as a pathfinder because I don’t know what to major in but I really want to have a non coding tech job. Thanks I have management experience as I’m a manager at a fast good restaurant
Sometimes, business analyst degree or Manage Information Systems are good degree. Truly, people who understand the software and meets the customer needs. Software Sales people make the best business analysts..
I’m not a people person what tech job can I do without having to really interact with people on a day to day
I’m currently a manual QA tester
Very few companies will hire people in those roles without a degree. I have been in software development a very long time. Those areas require specific skills. If you do get in without a degree you will earn 20k to 30k less. No PM comes in without a degree and certs. Scrum master is NOT a PM. You are giving people a false sense of software development. We had a guy try to jump into a developer role. He said he took algebra. All the developers laughed. You need at least calculus. Many developers have taken higher math beyond calculus. Ya there is more math. If you just want to build webpages you can get away with less but you will earn far far less like half the income.
Hi Tracy,
I'm currently going through a boot camp to learn coding and plan to advance into a more structured learning environment after the boot camp to become more proficient at building on the skills I'm learning.
A lot of sense and thank you. I learned some vital stuff.
A big thumbs up for the business analyst role. The BA role doesn't have to be nebulous either. I'd be happy to give everyone an overview of the BA role.
I am interested pls.
Could I have more information please?
wow
I am Interested
Am interested
I'm interested
Thank you so much!!! You're the best!!
When your image said technical writing I was like 👀👀👀👀 I graduate with my degree for tech writing next month!
Hi, I have no tech experience what so ever I have a nursing degree, and I'm back in school for a computer science degree. Do you know of any absolutely entry-level jobs that can get my foot in the door.
QA encounters password field: Hunter2
Don't forget the sales people, Saas don't sell themselves (usually) :)
Ok, I just watched the second part of the video. I'm not deleting my comment just to tell you that you already have one more subscriber. Good content :)
My fave RUclips channel!!!
This video was interesting and informative. Glad I clicked. Might look into these
Glad the video was helpful!
ohh you forget tech consultant which is my role. I don't code (I'm good without it lol) but depending on the consulting area you can do it with out coding.
Love your videos!!! They are always so informative. Thank you, Bukola !
Hi Bukola
I am confused, in your 'about' section you say you are a "software engineer". but in other videos you call yourself a software developer? Are they the same thing or you can be one or the other? You inspire me to keep working on my journey as a self taught coder xoxo
Hello! I use both software engineer and software developer interchangeably to me they mean the same thing. Good luck on your journey!
you still need to understand code
It's unlikely any of these are entry level though I assume? If you have no background in tech then I'm sure you wouldn't get a second look
Please I’m about to take my scrum exam … can we please get in contact so I can get more insight on what to expect ?
Your contents are so helpful....
Keep them coming
I'd love to learn more about UX roles from your perspective!
Hey Bukola any thoughts on Cybersecurity?
Yes I’m interested in this role as well. Hopefully she replies 😅
I'm hoping so as well😁
Hi love your videos! How does one break into manual QA testing without experience? Is there a boot camp you recommend or online courses to take? Thanks so much 💕
Check out Careerist they have a manual QA program. I have friends who have completed it and I'm thinking about it too!
@@khooouri Thanks!

Anyone know of any companies that use Macs as there main PC that isn't Apple?
Do you recommend getting at least a associate degree in computer science?
I really love wat u do Bukola
What are qualifications for these jobs
Well you don’t need coding to be a qa, but some companies ask you to know some programming languages
I’m a scrum master and I haven’t found any job 😢 it’s been frustrating because I got my certificate 1 year ago and everyone wants at least a scrum with 5 years of experience.
Omggg please can we get in contact ??
I’m about to take my scrum exam !
How can I get a low code/no code job?
I am a product manager. Can you upload a fast track for this career. I'm in NYC, in the data analytics field on the low end ($69k), and I'm trying to get to $125k asap. Is this reasonable for NYC?
yesssss love this topic
We gon meet in the future one day...
Hello. I am a political science graduate, but I am seeking a career change to IT field. I want to do Conversion course on IT path thru Masters degree. Pls which IT courses among others can be regarded as the most suitable choice to study esp. for people with very little background in Computer Sci/IT or zero IT experience,?
Thank you for this great video, very useful content 👌🏾
Do you need to pass your pmp exams before you start practicing. Just would like know .

I got on at the perfect time!
Love this!!
How much do scrum masters make? Also in terms of growth, what's the next thing for a scrum master?
Bukola: can you tell us if google has an internal IT dept.? Meaning if your computer breaks down who come to fix it? Do they have desktop support in the NY google office?
They do, they have an entire to team that deals with IT issues
@@Bukola1 so they have desktop support? That’s another position you could put in this video where you don’t need programming to be hired under google. Are they looking to hire any desktop support right now in ny office? I’m currently working as a desktop support for a financial firm, but i would love to work for google in the ny office. Do you know if any desktop support position are open right now?
Do Framework matter in getting job in Google? Do you use framework everyday? If Framework matter Angular or React for Google?
Please can you recommend videos for technical writing?
For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. John 3:16
If you are yet be saved please make this confession.
Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God, that you died on the cross to rescue me from sin and death and to restore me to the Father. I confess and repent of my sins. I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. I give myself to you in Jesus name. Amen
Welcome into the family of God.
I want to work any job in tech but I come from a science background so I haven't had much luck :(
I'm a molecular biologist by my university degree but I switched to database design. It's not easy but possible to make the transition.
Let’s go!
