I've watched many exchange student videos (having been one myself) and this is the best edited, most cheerful, diverse, and happy one ever! Very solid work.
That means the world to me! aww! Thank you so much for telling me that and watching the video of course! I put so much work into the editing, you can't even imagine hahah. So it's soo lovely to read nice comments like this :) Thank you again and feel free to follow the rest of my journey
A video of your thoughts and insights after your exchange, would be interesting.......was it a "blessing and a curse"?...did it change you?...or did it change your family and friends around you?....going back to school in Belgium must of felt weird, at first?
looking forward to your video. The "virus" has changed alot in America. The high school life you lived...would be hard to find today. Your "new normal" you lived in the States.....hard to find...but..its like that world wide, now...
@@danaasher2591 yeah, hopefully things will become normal again soon! then i can also visit :)) i'm also posting a new video on my channel soon which i'm excited about ::))
Tear-jerking all the way to the end! I only wish young Americans love and appreciate our country as much as you do. Thank you for this beautiful remembrance of who we are. May you always cherish in your heart.
So glad you had such a positive experience. Your outgoing personality shines through your video, and your willingness and energy to participate in a number of extra-curricular activities certainly enhanced your stay with many friends who appear to have appreciated your visit as much as you did. There is no question whether your future will be bright: you'll be the one bringing the light.
That is so sweet! That means a lot :) I really felt very welcome over there and miss everybody so much. I hope I can finally visit again after Covid. Thank you so much for your time and feel free to follow the rest of my journey
Super experience Lise, and couldn't you bring one of those handsome nice american boys to Belgium😍, you will never forget all those pleasant situations!
You were at a small town. I hope that really worked out for you. Some "big city" kids move into small towns in the USA and they really hate it, because it doesn't match up to their dream of America. But it seems like you jumped in with both feet, which is the right thing to do, because in the small town the people make all their own fun and much more than the big city, they will care. Thank you for show casing us as we want to be seen. I hope you had a good time. God Bless.
@@TKDragon75 Really? Richmond? This doesn't look like a high school somewhere in a city of 240,000 people. There aren't enough students, etc. My high school in a city of 24,000 people was bigger.
Hi Matthew & The Real TK-Dragon! Thanks for your comments. I was in a very small town 45 minutes away from Richmond. I arrived in the airport of Richmond and came there on Sundays to go to church with my hostfamily. My school itself had around 1,200 students (I think) and had many extracurricular activities, which I loved so much! I'm very thankful I got to do things like cheerleading, going to football/basketball games, joining the marching band and just living an American lifestyle cause it made me experience the dreamy but real American things. I always tell other exchange students to not have any expectations cause they might have other chances that dont fit in their 'dream'. I just learned that not the place, but the people make the exchange and I couldnt have had a better experience in my small town in the outbacks 😊
Thank you so much for watching! Me toooooo. I'm thankful every day for that. It would've been so different and I had the most amazing and perfect experience ever. I'm very grateful.
Wow, such a sweet video - with a real message about your American experience. And it appears to have been a positive one. This is a nation, under God with Liberty and Justice for All!! People of all backgrounds and ethnicities working together, smiling, laughing together. Is our nation perfect? No, but we strive for equality for all. Love your video. Come back to the USA real soon. You did live the American Dream, it's there for all. Work for it.
Thank you so much for your sweet words and taking the time to watch the video :) America is so diverse for sure, it has it's flaws (like every country), but sooo much beauty too! And I had the most amazing time of my life over there. I would love to come back after Covid cause I miss it so much! Thank you again and feel free to follow the rest of my journey
Like watching a movie for us probably but for you it was likely as traumatic and thrilling a two year experience as any young man or woman could live. What a journey Lise!! ❤️ from Florida!
Don't know you, but I enjoyed watching this. I would love to hear like what you thought about America. Like what you expected vs reality. What you didn't expect, differences from where you live and that stuff
I can't compare to other years of course haha. But it was a loooot of snow for sure! We couldn't go to school for a whole week and the roads were pretty dangerous to drive on. I made the best out of it and went out in the snow as you saw :)) Thank you so much for watching!
I understand that your parents are worried, mine were mostly about the fact that I would go to the unknown. I really showed them how much I wanted it, took them to info moments, let them talk to former exchange students (which helped a lot!). Tell them that everywhere and anytime things can happen to you in life and you need to be careful everyday in general, but that shouldn't take a possible life changing experience away. Also choose an organization that has good reviews and you trust. I have been close to guns, but have never at any moment felt unsafe. My host parents were also very protective. I hope this helps! Inform them about this unknown thing you ask them
Im american, and guns (if your family owns some) are always kept in your house usually in a safe, and only taken out to go hunting. You should watch "The deer hunter", thats what i mean by hunting, like in the forest for animals. Very rarely will you ever see someone holding there guns randomly out in public, ive only ever seen the police do that (which is normal). Also, a huge amount of families dont even own guns, most places you need a permit im pretty sure. Hopefully you get to come one day!
It’s our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. We have guns so we can defend ourselves if we need to. The guns is what makes it safe. Hope you can come someday.
Hi ! So I think she went with WEP, but YFU offers to give you a bigger scholarship, depending on your parent's salary they can give you up to 4 000 euros. But even with that it is still really expensive, so maybe you can try to go later as an au pair ?
@@namritsingh7759 Oh that sucks... Well as I told you maybe you can go later ! Or find a place to go on exchange that is less expensive than the USA... It depends on where you live but I know some countries are really unexpensive to go to for a year.
Brune has said some right things! As much as I know, you can get scholarships. You should really inform yourself about it at the organization(s) of your choice and see how they can help you. I hope you can work something out! Good luck
