The getting whooped wasnt even that bad, I dont care if he just cant keep up with the superhuman teenagers he's with, become a strategist for all I care. Its just how often he went back on his convictions. He watches his girlfriend die in the future, steels himself and commits himself to not breaking up with her so she never gets hurt again, and one talk from her father breaks his dedication. It wasnt even a harsh one like the dad points out everything wrong with him and Takemichi genuinely has to question if he's a good guy, the dad literally just asks him if he's right for his daughter, nothing else, and apparently that's enough to shatter his conviction. He forgets all the determination he was building up and breaks up with her right there and then cries about it. Takemichi pisses me off big time

Imma go Tokyo ghoul for me. It took a interesting idea and turned it into just another edgy body horror anime. I mean it could’ve been animes equivalent to the Prototype games but with more psychological drama given the fact that in order for a ghoul to survive they HAVE to eat people. But instead it focuses on a MC whose just a moron deciding to team Up with the same organization that tortured him and wants him dead.
Yeah, that didn’t happen in the manga. It was a stupid change that ruined much of the story(in the actual manga, Kaneki left Anteiku to form his own organization against Aogiri Tree and to figure out the truth). The second season removes so much important stuff, changes so much, tries to add the same fights despite this, and even worse compresses it all into such a short amount of time. Manga Kaneki was the goat(even after his first organization failed, he made a bigger organization that was even called “goat”) I’d recommend reading the source material. Much better than the adaption

The fact that you understand the main character is probably a major part of the problem. Obviously having a confusing character isn't a good thing but when you understand the characters entire story in the first 3 episodes it's just boring.
I say it's not that understanding the character in a short period of time that makes it boring but the situations the character is put in that does. For example I'm currently watching Game of Thrones(season 2) and I understand like 80% of the characters and still enjoy it. The reason why Revengers got boring is because it was repetitive, i.e Takemichi goes to the past, get beat up, cry, fix something, come back to the present, then oh no something even worse happens and Hinata still dies, and repeat. This is what made it boring

They thought they could throw a really tight time table at newbies and make it work. Like the animation team was new and got hit with some bonker ass deadlines. I don't blame them at all. Just the people in charge of them
I'm surprised they even put that up there, Although thinking about it I guess season 2 doesn't feel as narratively satisfying as season 1 since it felt like there was a lot of unanswered plot thread introduced that was left behind (which will probably happen in season 3 anyways) but quality wise it still felt as enjoyable as season 1 compare to the rest listed which the quality dropped felt hard

I mean it could’ve been animes equivalent to the Prototype games but with more psychological drama given the fact that in order for a ghoul to survive they HAVE to eat people. But instead it focuses on a MC whose just a moron deciding to team
Up with the same organization that tortured him and wants him dead.
Manga Kaneki was the goat(even after his first organization failed, he made a bigger organization that was even called “goat”)
I’d recommend reading the source material. Much better than the adaption
@@traehignightThe same shit happened in Bleach. A lot of Bleach was censored and his relationship with Orihime was mostly cut out, then the fillers, "Kurosaki-kun", etc... this also plagued Naruto and Naruto Shippuden, but to a much lesser extent, they only made Hinata say Naruto-kun every 5 minutes and somehow make Sakura even more unlikable than in the manga where she already was a shithead
@@ellingtonf1097 interesting. I’ve never watched Bleach and the Naruto filler(as well as just not being able to get the manga at the time) kinda made me drop out pretty early into Shippuden so I didn’t know that
@@traehignight Studio Pierrot cut out some important bits of the manga and also had a massive amount of fillers. There was also a MASSIVE amount of censorship in the anime from what the manga had (although this was because it was on the morning block and not the nightly block like the TYBW, so they needed to censor the gore). This also happened with Naruto, although the manga wasn't as gory as Bleach's manga, so it only got off with ruining certain characters, namely Hinata and Sakura (tho Sakura was already shit). And it's quite a coincidence that they also made Tokyo Ghoul.
How dare they put kakegurui on blast like that, that show was fire af

Yeah plus the 2nd season was still good, I hated the ending tho-it should’ve been the twin sister have her gambling scene that’s how it should’ve ended but whatever
@nataliawashington872 wasn't the auction the last part of season 2 of kakegurui but I either I agree with I love season 2 but am mixed on the ending but it still enjoyable with its flaw am still wanting for season 3 but you how netflix is....
@@RandomFanmare i just realised i havent seen season 2... lol

For the rest of the animes here despite dropping off somewhat I still see quite a strong community around them. Ive barely seen any tokyo revengers stuff since s2 ended despite me watching a lotta videos about it
Dead Man Wonderland. Ending it with a poorly placed flashback episode was just criminal.
If Takemichy don’t get some boxing lessons or something real soon… homie is gonna stay as a punching bag 😅
Weird to see SAO since I'd say the worst ark was in the end of season 1. Kinda hard to say it fell off when there was nowhere to go but up.
Wow I honest thought that he was going to say seven deadly sins
For me it's Sao
@@khaliyahjefferson832 SAO died for me when the stupid Beta Tester hate subplot showed up... which was, what, like episode 4?
I love SDS but it never had good writing (after S1 and S2 is my fav), people didn’t care to point it out until the animation became horrible. That’s prolly one of the reasons he didn’t point it out
Try episode like, 2, lol, it was an alright entry anime, that got far worse@@lo4tr
@@lo4trthat beta thing wasn't exactly a subplot. It lasted one episode tbh. SAO was dope. Up until Alicization. Alice season 1 is good. But after that it slipped
What confuses me about take, in the first episodes his friends stat that he used to throw the hands and All of sudden since he grew up and went back to the past he lost all recollection on how to even throw a simple jab.
Does NO ONE remember the part where he literally tells the viewer why he lost his heart? It happens in the first episode
@@wwalton I remember it well, but even when he wanted to throw a punch back he couldn't throw a proper one, your feelings don't negate the experience you built just the effort behind it.
@@SaxualiTea and that's exactly why he felt "weak" he even declared it himself "that's right I didn't actually get any stronger I was just close to strong people"
@@wwalton Im talking about the retainment of knowledge; I'm giving it about 5 years since he quit fighting before he started going back into the past. That means he quit fighting for a good bit, he should've still retained the knowledge and form of knowing how to throw a proper punch and how to dodge. Unless, when he was originally a “delinquent” he was always fighting super scrubs.
@@SaxualiTea my guy do you not pay attention? He didn't believe that he could, he was traumatized into believing that he was weak after he became a slave to Toman and after that he proceeded to never stand up for himself in his life until the events of Tokyo Revengers and even still no one said that Takemichi back then was that great at fighting but he still had the heart and confidence and it was not just 5 years
Tokyo Revengers just kept getting better. Season 3 going crazy right now 🔥🔥
Tokyo Revengers is literally like the Fairy Tail of the new gen
Probably the first anime you watched and while watching, you're thinking it's amazing but then you watch more, better anime, you go back to it and you're just like: "This aint as cool as i remember".
I will say though, i dont think "fell off" is the term I'd use cuz it was still a best selling manga back when it was still ongoing
I love Tokyo revengers but don't compare it to fairy tail because that anime is easily one of the best shounen and well written if you ignore the cringe moments
@@jimmiemarshall7980 I don't mind simple characters. Especially simple villains. Being able to see a situation from the villains point of view is nice but sometimes it's good to see someone who's evil because they enjoy being evil. No tragic backstory or heartfelt motive needed.
@@jimmiemarshall7980 I think the biggest problem with Tkmc is he gets rewarded despite failing and yet never levels up or learns from his mistakes. Like, he fails and cries but then when he gets a new goal he's super confident for no reason??? you're like where did this confidence come from but he goes into a battle with no training and gets whooped, gets saved by others and then gets comforted or praised later on. The whole gang should've dropped him quick but he gets the type of support other MC's bleed and sweat for despite never putting in actual work.
What? Some of the most well liked characters are relatively simple. Luffy can be understood after a few episodes as being a simple minded guy with an unshakable dream.
@@sharkguy2340exactly what I thought. Luffy, Deku, Sasuke, Goku, Cid Kageno, Ainz Ooal Gown... So many great characters are do great because you understand who they are. What makes us love most of them is watching them grow knowing who they are. And what they want. But takemichi had potential to be dope MC but he fumbles. SO OFTEN
All of em fell off the most, it’s quite heartbreaking 😢
Bro??? The promised neverland???
Tbf promised neverland only had 2 seasons not enough for people to stay hyped around the other series had the same amount or more
It was kind of the animes fault for that not the source material. They cut too much shit and didnt compensate for the pacing. I think Tokyo Revengers is the one on this list. At least the other shows tried to do SOMETHING with their plots
At least I could make through an entire season of Promised Neverland. For me, I couldn't make it past episode 4 of SAO and I couldn't make it past episode 2 of Tokyo Revengers.
The question is which anime fell off, so it has to be Promised Neverland.@@potatovine
@@lo4trSeason 1 of SAO is actually gold, so your loss
I deada$$ at first thought the main character was Mikey only to find out it's Takemichi💀
I loved that every time takemichi went back in time and fixes things, something has to go wrong in the future. It was like the equivalent exchange where u have to sacrifice something to gain the other. Then everything fucked up when he went back to save mikey and even worse when he went back with Mike and made a perfect future
He is the most frustrating mc to tou? You are blessed to be unaware of Kazuya from rent a girlfriend
Takemitchi at least has character progress, rent a girlfriend sells you the illusions of progress but there isn't any
Reminder that dude, Kazuya got a boner when imagine Chizuru cucking him
The author of RAG, is a fan of NTR, he literally said he wants to be cucked by one of the girls on his twitter. It is not an illusion of progress, it's the author's fetish.
I fucking despise Kazuya with a fucking passion.
You can't even say rag is mid since it'd actually have to good to be mid. Trash by any other name is still trash
I ain't gonna lie, I'm surprised anyone expected quality from an anime called "rent-a-girlfriend".
my favorite part though is how Draken was supposed to be the heart and friend that keeps Mikey in check then when Takemichi becomes friends with Mikey the story just forgets about that
its really an interesting thing though when a character is *supposed to be* pathetic and annoying though because you're like *well is this a success or a failure here? kek
This! Like I was expecting more moments with Draken and Mikey where is remembered that Draken Is Mikeys heart, it doesnt help that when takemichi comes into the picture they make it seem more that is Takemichi and not Draken. I really dislike that.
And in the character thing, I think It depends? Like how much the character Is disliked because of It.
They be forgiving EVERYONE like they wasn’t trying to be Mikey’s biggest opp that same day
This is what I been saying lmao. Every single thought I had of this show u explained
He is literally the reason I refuse to watch it. I can't stand the look of him and he is so pathetic every time I see him it makes me sick. The MC are typically my favourite character so it was a slap in the face to hate one so much💀
Outside of Tokyo Revengers, I think the only other anime I've watched where I hate the main character is Naruto. But, at least in Naruto the rest of it was enough to keep me interested. The good parts of Tokyo Revengers did nothing to alleviate Takemichi's existence.
@@lo4tr Oh, that's a controversial take. I applaud your bravery for admitting that lol.
@@theCHILLIntrovert I don't know why it's controversial (I assume you mean me not liking Naruto). I personally don't like Naruto a a character but I'm not saying he's a badly written character. I just find him insufferably annoying.
@@lo4tr Controversial in that he's the MC of a popular mainstream shounen, one of the Big 3. I've heard people say he's not their favorite character, they aren't a fan, or that he's annoying, but I've never actually heard anyone say they HATE Naruto the character, even the most staunch of detractors that might not like the series. Hence the controversial, in my eyes.
@@lo4tr Come to think of it, I wasn't *as* much of a fan of Naruto as I was the other big 3, he just seemed to be too down in the dumps, plus the fact that he chases after Sasuke despite him tryna murk his ass on multiple occasions along with his own girlfriend. Also that damn swing, that motherfucking swing. Ichigo has a backstory but it doesn't cut to his mom's death every 5 episodes, Luffy's backstory is more upbeat than the others, but it's the present that's more important. I kinda like Ichigo the best out of the Big 3 protagionists because it's a perfect balance of present character development and having an impactful backstory, without flaunting it too much like Naruto, also the themes are more mature but it's more implied than shown which is why Bleach is so cool since it makes you look deeper into the lore, where things are even darker than the show
Out of the 4 animes I’ve watched on that list
Kakeguri- it didn’t fall of for me because I don’t know how you can fall off when you’re writhing on the floor.
7 Deadly Sins- Such a good start, only to have the most confusing, asswabed plot come out of literally nowhere for every character. Like hey! Can these two characters just meet and not a contrived story of how they fought/loved/fucked each other in past lives? No? Okay.
The promised neverland- same thing where it was SUPER interesting and then they escape and it’s like, okay I’m kinda sick of it. + I didn’t comprehend the plot of season 2
SAO- does anyone whose watched it need an explanation 😭 wtf happened in that show
I wish for scenes of Takemichi in a training session. I want to see him lifting or some sort of martial arts training. Later on in his adult years, dude is jack ah.
That's goofy as hell NGL, bro doesn't have that kind of time
Bro when I heard about how the manga ends, I thanked the lord I never stepped beyond the first episode lmao
After the tenjiku arc, it goes downhill and takemichi somehow gets worse after that arc, which doesn't make sense because he actually showed courage and was throwing punches. The writing is awful
I I feel you for sure but Escanor going out like that pretty much killed it for me, like you've got He-man but suddenly his theme music doesn't show up and gets folded.
It's literally what happened to He-man to a tee in the reboot now that I think about it. God now I'm pissed just thinking about it... Well least we got a fabulous secret powers meme reboot guess.
Dude had no muscle or smart lol. Osamu might not the strongest but he sure damn hell can figure things out better.
Y’all don’t even know the half of it, the manga makes this series UNBEARABLE istg the hardest fall off 💀
After the tenjiku arc, it falls off hard.
The fact that it took him as long as it did to think, "Maybe I should start training," is crazy like with all the fights he's been in and his position and how often he got whooped how was that not 1 of the 1st things he thinks, hell he's cool with many ppl way stronger than him that could probably help him train
I understand that takamichi does dumb shit and STILL DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIGHT because I completely agree 💯 but for some reason I still endure because the other characters😂😂 cf
I actually agree with this take cuz honestly and truly takemichi really be getting his ass beat numerous times and this dude has like numerous opportunities to get in shape and learn how to properly fight. However he doesn't utilize it nor does he take advantage of it, it's actually kind of if not very annoying in my opinion anyway.
How “getting his ass beat” is a common saying in the anime community has me dead as fuck 😂😂😂 mfs be getting beat on in anime fr
@@InfinityHS yeah you right a lot mfs even the mfs that really know how to scrap be getting folded half of the time if not most of the time. But at the very least they don't just take the L sitting down they get back up start putting in the work and hours training to prepare for the run back and next fight you know what I mean? But idk maybe I could be just overreacting it is what it is. 🤷🏿♂️
As an anime merch seller I'll say this to put in in perspective: in 2021 EVERYBODY and their mom wanted Tokyo Revengers stuff, it was like alchemy: you had a Draken tin button it turned into money as quick as breathing, but now I had to put merch on sale and even at 50% off people just won't buy it.
I'm used to see people falling off of trends, it's part of the job, but the Tokyo Revengers fell off was HARD and something I've never seen before.
The greatest powerup Takemichi can get is a phone with 911 on speed dial and unlimited minutes. Why is he fighting?
Is the side character in his own anime. That's what i call a npc. 😂😂😂😂😂
Takemichi is the only MC I've seen that legit would work better as a side character😂. I love chifyuu, Mikey, draken, and pretty much most of the cast. I just can't stand takemisery

I cant say its Tokyo Revengers. The anime its self has not fallen off. Just the character itself is just frustrating to everyone. Thats like saying Naruto or AOT fell off cuz Gabi or Sakura
I don't care how much endurance this mf had, it was tiring to see his ass get beat up repeatedly
I'm watching season 3 and bro is still getting ass whooped
I must be in the tiny minority because I'm the only one that finds it hilarious and slightly impressive how he can get his ass beat every episode and still keep going. It's kind of like Mark from Invincible but admittedly less well excecated
Except Mark actually gets development. Just wait next season as someone who's read the comics just know mark is on that timing 😂
One part he said reminds me of something I heard another RUclipsr say once. It was about how JoJo doesn't get good till the 5 Arc or 73 episodes into the anime. If anyone tells you hold out till the 73rd episode because that's when it gets good, drop it and run.
