Thailand now has a visa where you can stay 180 days. Watch Mandy & Lloyd’s vlog about it. They opted to live in Thailand over Bali because housing accommodations are less expensive plus it cost less to live there long term.
Good point about writing your insurance policy and passport elsewhere other than on your phone. I would print a xerox copy of insurance policy plus a xerox copy of passport as well. You will need a xerox copy to have when your passport is getting extended, because they will have it for 10-14 days. That has been my experience with them having it almost half a month.
Gday from WA Muzza been following you for a little while now, been to Bali many times but always learning things about Voa's, Tourists tax, Declarations. passport issues etc etc as they change or rumors of being scrapped so good to keep up to date with your vlogs...comin over in Oct and hopin to catch up on one of your Monday evening seafood nights if you are still doing them...Cheers 😄
Interesting point about having crisp/clean Australian notes, when you consider some of the notes you receive back when changing money or purchasing items. Also, I made a 'date mistake' with the online visa in January and had to pay an additional $50 (VOA) upon my arrival, which, to be honest is much simpler and straight through the green gates. Paying the $14.00 tourist tax is a bit of an effort to find the stand! (but I paid it)
@@elsienorback7689 Wow that's a huge increase. Like I said, they should ask people to pay it when they pay for their visas and I'm sure more people will make the small contribution.
When I applied for a entry visa to Vietnam (making a visa run from Bali) the application site wouldn’t let me put my middle name (I tried Over and over) and so I didn’t put it. When trying to leave for Vietnam, they wouldn’t let me travel there because the visa didn’t match my passport and I was on last day I could be in Bali. So I had to fly to Malaysia in emergency situation to leave Bali to avoid overstay fees. While in Malaysia I called Vietnam visa agency that sold me the letter and they fixed the visa letter and didn’t charge me. I stayed in Malaysia for 7 days trying to fix this. It was a lesson learned for sure.
Well, you don’t want to get injured in America, even with insurance. The cost of medical expenses in America can cause ppl to go bankrupt, even with insurance. Many ppl fly out of country for medical work. Bumrungrad hospital is where many ppl go for medical treatment. Many years ago there was a man in America who needed triple bypass surgery and the cost was astronomical, so he went to Bumrungrad hospital in Thailand and didn’t go bankrupt.
Buying a passport holder with transparent plastic which holds your passport, to protect while traveling but also when not traveling. Keeping your passport in a safe, dry environment is important especially when it’s in storage because many things can happen.
I understand you cannot do the process of extension of passport until 5-10 days after arrival, BUT you do need to pay for option to extend before leaving the airport, right? Unless they changed the process, which they tend to do at a drop of the hat.

Muzza, very informative video. I am stopping over in Bali in October travelling from UK to Gold Coast. Useful info regarding Visa, passport condition and money.
Yeah, the condition of passport and money is that way wherever you travel abroad. They will reduce the exchange rate if your currency year is not the most current as well..

Hi, I'm pretty sure I'm the guy you mentioned that's coming in December and wanted to know what the exchange rate is. I was wanting to know the "Current" exchange rate not the December exchange rate. Knowing what the "Current" exchange rate is in Bali I can look at what the "Current" rate is in my home country and see where is better to exchange funds and by how much. Thanks and keep the videos coming.
Hahaha,we know about that Muzz hey, remember my cousin Pete,he thought he was right, had 18 days to go before the 6months,got to the Sydney airport,we were walking in,and he was walking out,and he said they wouldn't let him fly over there,as he was going to be there for 18days,and they couldn't promise him that the Indonesian government will let him fly back, and we already told him that before we left, but no he thought he would be right, didn't listen to his family that know this, learnt the hard way, funny at the time, but sad he didn't listen to come on holidays with us,live and learn they say.
Muzza ya ahould do one on the upcoming road shutdowns from sept 1st when the new train lines construction commences... gonna be a lot more traffic problems .... is it just me or is bali really empty at the moment 🤔
Its been a few years since I was here last but the vibe has changed and a lot the fault of influencers but I have yet to see crowds and there is a different vibe walking around I feel ... looking into what's happening and all the new builds im seeing I pondered the new rail lines which would make it more like KL but will also take something away ... I wrote this poem pondering the islands future Bali 2030 In Bali’s heart, a change unfolds, Where ancient tales and new are told. Rails rise like veins through island’s core, Promising ease, but bringing more. No longer taxis’ grip so tight, Yet vendors’ calls still pierce the night. Resorts now stand, a gilded cage, Where tourists dwell, yet disengage. The island’s soul, a fragile thread, Strains beneath the weight of tread. Rubbish piles, pollution’s stain, Echoes of a culture’s pain. The gap between the rich and poor, Grows wider than it was before. Locals’ hearts, once warm and bright, Now harbor shadows in the light. Animosity, a seed now sown, In fields where kindness once had grown. How to bridge this widening rift, And give the island back its gift? In Bali’s change, a lesson lies, To see the world through clearer eyes. To cherish what is old and true, And build a future, bright and new.
Funny about the foreign currency, considering the state of the Indonesian currency, you feel like you’re going to catch some hideous disease touching some of their notes. Keep up the good work Muzza.
I think you two were not in sync with each other when you started talking about VOA, and extension. Don’t you have to pay for the opportunity to extend and then do the process of extension within 5-10 days of being in Bali?
Is there such a thing as a perminent resident visa in Indonesia and can it be brought or what is the requirements? My family is 47, 47, 18, 20, 24, 25 and 25. Is it possible?
What is a dog hair Muzza…lol…never heard that before..hubby took his passport white water rafting while we were in Bali…lol…lucky they allowed him to come home…ha ha…
Gday Muzz, have followed your channel for a while but this vid has me a bit concerned. If the Indonesian authorities are going to claim any currency that is not perfect cannot be exchanged to local currency then that is a bit of a game changer dont you think?
I wouldn’t travel to Bali for medical treatment because their doctors are not the best. Even Balinese ppl travel to Malaysia or elsewhere to get medical treatment.
You forgot to mention the mafia extortion that happens at the beach where locals get to use the toilets and water taps to wash sand off feet for free but tourists have to pay ... whats the point paying tourist tax if everytime you do anything you pay and pay and pay ... Tip for anyone visiting the beach is to bring an empty water bottle go for a walk and when leaving wash your feet beside the mafia and smile ...😂😂😂 its funny when you see them watering the tarmac but tell you to use water sparingly yet its bubbling up from the ground everywhere 🤷♂️🤦♂️

what's the point of a 6-month rule for passports especially if you're only in a country for a couple weeks
since when do rules need to have a point. Almost every country has a 6 month minimum in case of emergency or civil unrest etc..
