Driving Over the Sunshine Skyway Bridge in a Lightning Storm

On our way back to the Tampa Bay area from Naples, we had to cross the Sunshine Skyway Bridge in the middle of a thunderstorm. This area is known as the lightning capital of the US. It even has a sports team named for the frequent lightning - Stanley Cup Champs, the (Lightning) Bolts.
I drove and my son filmed from the passenger seat. We encountered this storm pretty much the entire way from Venice until we got home in Dunedin. It was a massive storm by afternoon storm standards. And a pretty vicious one.

I used to wade fish the flats near the Skyway bridge. This video shows why I always stopped fishing and got out of the water whenever a lightning storm began.
