They needed Mick Jagger’s permission to release this. They met with him in NYC with a tape of this in a boom box (yeah, we called them “ghetto blasters” back in the day 🤷🏼♂️). They hit play. Jagger just sat there. Then he jumped up and started dancing around! He frickkin’ LOVED it! Legend. Game knows game 😂
My favorite band as a kid in the 80's. Their own spin is what they call deconstructing the song. It's unfortunate they are known mostly for Whip It because they have so many great songs. Staying up late as an 8 year old and watching them play this song on SNL in the yellow radiation suits was a seminal moment in my childhood. DEVO rules!
Devo is one of the all time greatest. I know I’ve said this on a few videos but NOTHING and I mean NOTHING sounded like Devo. Devo made the uncool, the nerd, the dork mainstream.

I think he knew this was too weird to be more successful than the original lol.

we are Devo!
Are we not men ?!
@@denysmace3874 WE ARE DEVO!!
Devo are way ahead of their time..pure genius
Unique band! Have many of their records. Amazing stuff.
Imagine being 18, arena rock bands dominating the airwaves, then you hear this. That first Devo album was game changer for so many people.
DEVO are underrated. Everyone just thinks of the song Whip It, but they have a lot of other good songs.

They weren't just a band, they were a philosophy, a movement, a way of thinking
I'm tired of containing it, I'm gonna say it. Devo is better than Talking Heads.
Great cover, love Devo
You guys nailed it. I appreciate the fact that you also appreciate various musical styles and genres. 😊
That video cracked up my whole family when we saw it on TV back around 1978.
This was so brilliant back in 1977, but you ought to also check out The Residents version of Satisfaction. Devo's first album is so good.
the moment it started and i realized i know this song version once you ear it you will never forget it
Wild take on the Stones' classic--thanks for bringing it to us!
Favorite Devo video
I suggest Ian Dury - Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick
There is a lot of satire in New Wave, post-punk; a different kind of weapon. You have many treats in store.
They had to ask Mick for the okay before Devo released the track and he liked and danced to it, so can't be bad.
Devo or Talking Heads. Both pure 80s.
Psychedelic Furs, Oingo Boingo, the list goes on.
"I appreciate the effort." Lex as mistress of the nuanced comment. 🙂
Hello, love Your Chanel ❤ hello from Sweden ❤
When in Devo, do as Devo do.
General Boy approves this broadcast.
Apparently
I like to see reactions on 'Mongoloid', or 'Blockhead'. ;-)
And I see the ressemblance with Cake: dead pan humor.
Girl U Want!
❤ NY artsy Punk ❤
Ohio, maybe?
😁👍
React to american trilogy - Elvis presley
Great cover. But if you want to listen to the strangest cover of Satisfaction you should listen to the one by The Residents.
Snakefinger, what a guitarist... such menace in the whole track, brilliance.
Space Junk.
Simply dreadful
Amazing
Dreadfully simple.
Ah, the great Devo. So many good tunes from these lads. Gates of Steel, Jocko Homo, Gut Feeling, Uncontrollable Urge...
In the words of Simon Cowell, 'It's a no from me.'
I think Lex might like 'Dancing in the Street by Mick jagger & David bowie
