      Hi Ryan. Thank you very much for the nice feedback. I am very happy that you like it, and it’s really nice to get hear from someone new to GrandMA 😀 promise that you will ask if there is something you need me to clarify 👍

    This was so helpful, I'm using this approach to building a showfile for busking with a midi controller (via OSC) and an onPC node. Thank you!

    I’m surprised you don’t save more often.
    I’m saving my work constantly!
    Thank you for making videos!!!

      Hi Mr Mills.
      Thank you for watching, and commenting on the videos. That makes it more fun to do 👍👍
      I probably would save more often if it was a “real” show I was working on. But until now I haven’t had one single crash yet on GrandMA3. Sometimes I set it up to auto save every 10-15 minutes just to be sure 😀 Have you experienced any crashes on the software? 😀

    Hi Tue! Thanks again for another excellent tutorial. What is the purpose of grouping the fixtures within the patch creator? Is this different from creating groups by making selections from the fixture sheet and storing them in a group pool? Thanks

    you have to type "EDit layout x" to enter a spreadsheet where you can change anything for multiple layout objects at once.....

    • @Event-Lighting
      @Event-Lighting  2 года назад

      Hi Tobias. Yes, and you can right click on the layout name next to settings in the layout window. BUT..... It´s not working. I can assign appearance just fine, and you can see that it´s assigned in the list - but nothing happens in the layout window :-)

    Really great video, will help me make my own show file, coming from Chamsys, maybe you could make an in depth video about fixture type change, would help me a lot thanx!

      Hi Eduards.
      Thank you very much, it´s always nice to get some positive feedback 😀 I am interested - how does it compare to chamsys for you, and why are you looking at GrandMA3?
      The video for swapping fixtures are on the drawingboard, and you are going to love how easy it is on GrandMA3 :-)
      Thank you for watching, and for commenting 👍👍👍👍👍

      Hi @@Event-Lighting .
      Thanks for the questions 😀
      Chamsys is straight forward, all presets are already made, not as much writing. With GrandMA3 we can achieve more precise and complex fx. We choose the MA3 for it's potential in the future and to increase our show's quality.
      Can't wait for new videos!
      Kind regards.

    Instead of using images especially for solid colors i would use just the appearance itself with background color, saves you storage and the file does not get loaded as much

    • @Event-Lighting
      @Event-Lighting  2 года назад +1

      Hi Jogi. I agree that it would be easier to make colors that way, but this tutorial is more of a beginner tutorial. So I think that showing the functionality was the important thing in this case. That way a GrandMA3 beginner can easily change their image to their liking 😀

    Hi!
    Thanks for your nice style of showing things and experimenting with how stuff works.
    I think that's very inspiring for newcomers like I am to just jump in and play around with the software.
    I just discovered your channel this weekend and will watch all the content over the next weeks.
    To really start using the software for small projects someone gave me the tip of getting the vizkey that unlocks 512 parameters from the onpc version.
    Together with a raspberry Pi with dmx dongle that makes for a super compact light tool :-)
    But on a music video shoot I completely failed in making the lights do nice stuff.
    Like you say: it takes time and preparation and practise
    Thanks for your help on that.
    Any plans for a new live stream??

    • @Event-Lighting
      @Event-Lighting  2 года назад

      Hi Michael.
      Nice to hear that you have arrived on the channel, and that you will watch the videos.
      Yes the wiz-key will unlock 1 DMX universe, so that you can start outputting something 😀 Before you shoot your next video, you should set it up in 3D and then force yourself to learning the effects you need to make it look like you want it 😀
      My first livestream was very spontaneous, and I am thinking of making another one. But I don’t know exactly when it’s going to happen 😀

    • @bubbl_media
      @bubbl_media 2 года назад

      Hey Michael. I think your idea with Raspberry Pi will not gonna work. The vizkey will only work with visualizer-software that is whitelisted by MA. Unfortunately not to output any data.

    If you want to set individual delay times, could you just set it into the colors preset via the macro instead of each cue? Same could be with fade time as well, but not as necessary since it works the way you have done it already.

    Great video again: Question? I assume that layout views cannot be populated with programming other than objects that trigger programming via macros. Thats the same with MA2 and as I wanted to attach timing to a speed fader and not use macros, which resulted in the macros getting rather big.
    Perhaps you know something about how seqences behave with settings and options. A Hog seq travels with setings and options to the playback, this did not happen on MA2, but I heard they changed this, but cannot recall who said so, have you an opinion if the options and settings to a seq are now stored with the seq and not the hardward a seq is placed on?
    Have you an opinion?

    • @Event-Lighting
      @Event-Lighting  2 года назад +1

      Hi Andy.
      Thank you for commenting 👍
      In the GrandMA3 software *you can now assign almost EVERYTHING to the layout view* . You can have groups, macros, sequences, presets you name it. I have uploaded an image in the shared folder you can take a look at. As of right now, I can only get the speed master to work as a “learn” button. But I would assume that it´s likely going to change in future updates.
      See layout picture: onedrive.live.com/?authkey=%21AFolVFISKViRDv0&cid=ADD76BEB41257BDE&id=ADD76BEB41257BDE%211097&parId=ADD76BEB41257BDE%211095&o=OneUp
      The settings for a sequence now travels with the sequence. So, no matter where you assign it, it will keep the setting you gave it. 😀

      @@Event-Lighting Now that was great information and happy settings will travel, that was a pain in MA2. Many thanks again, I am again more informed.
