E16 - GrandMA3 Fade And Delay Effects - GrandMA3 Tutorial
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 4 окт 2024
- This time we are going deeper into working with GrandMA3 Cues, and we are starting to look at the more advanced features of the GrandMA3 programming.
The GrandMA 3 Sequences and Cues can be a lot more powerful than you would think, and sometimes you can use Fade and Delay timing instead of starting up the phaser engine.
I will show you the whole process of simply storing a few cues, and making it more complex, with splitting fade in and fade out times, and looking at how we can use the GrandMA3 delay option to make simple effects.
And I will also show you how you can remote tricker the sequences from other sequences.
If you are trying to learn GrandMA3, i think that seeing the entire process can help you towards your goal of being a GrandMA3 programmer.
I hope you enjoy the video, and please leave a comment if you have any questions or comments.

I am absolutely addicted to your videos!
The info I need just when I need it. How did you know?
Hi Mr Mills - Nice to hear from you again 😀
I must admit that I am relying on blind luck in that matter 😀😀 No seriously, I am trying to build this tutorial series so it makes some kind og sense if you are a new user - I seems like it´s working? 👍
Thank you so much 🙏 Just started to learn GrandMA3, and your videos is speeding up the learningcurve in a great way 😊👍👏
God bless you in Jesus name ❤️✝️
NICE! More of this please
Hi Larz. More programming techniques or more GrandMA3 features? 😀
@@Event-Lighting programming techniques
Okay 👍 😀
Quality content. Thank you for this.
very cool
These videos are what I’ve been looking for. Great work. Also, do you know how to use the RDM software on MA3?
Hi Matthew. Thank you very much 🙏🙏 Where in the world are you watching from? 😀 I haven’t spent any time on the RDM functionality just yet, but I definitely will in the future 😀
@@Event-Lighting watching from Colorado Springs CO USA
@@matthewkinney8343 thank you - nice to have you here 👍👍🙏🙏
Hi, nice and helpful videos👍
How you trig custom effects on Cues??
thanks.
Hi GGs pelos.
There will be a new video out about that tomorrow :-)
@@Event-Lighting what's the number of the episode or link of the video about this?
2 more questions:
- what's the view that replaces the "Channels" pool??
- How the best and easy way to store values of channels from fader sequences, in a Cue of another different sequence?
thanks.
Watching again…. Refresher on split Delay timing.
how do you create the DC Center Position preset?????
Great videos....where do i find the off time for an executor in ma3?so when i release a toogle a temp etc it goes whit off time...great job
Found it...is in the cue off of the sequence
Hi Collin.
I am happy you found your answer, without my help. 👍👍👍
I am very sorry that i didn´t answer you before now, but you message was flagged as spam for some crazy reason only RUclips can answer, so it was hiding in the flagged folder, and I didn´t get any notification that it was there - I am sorry.
@@Event-Lighting No problem keep up whit the great job u´r doing with the tutorials
Question, in your tutorial at 9:48 you set the second cue to go back to magenta. Is there a way just to release the color info in the second cue using a delay time?
Up until this video I've been able to identically match your screen layouts but now I've run out of layout room on my laptop! Did you change the screen resolution when you made this video?
Hi Mike. Yes I might have - go inside to grandma3 settings - go to screen configuration - set resolution to 0.75 that should give you the same resolution as I am using. 😀
@@Event-Lighting That was it! BTW: Your video's are the best! I really like the fact that I can go back and rewatch a video on only the topic I need help on! Please keep them coming!
I am up to video #17 but I have had a question for a while now. Can you please explain the meanings/functions of the buttons on the 3D view/Layout views? In MA2 Layouts I knew how to Select, Move, Orbit, etc. I am struggling a bit when trying to navigate in MA3. I'm using a newer version than the one in the videos so sometimes the screens look slightly different. Thanks...
Hey man, thought I’d help you out. If you’re on the onPC software, whenever you place your cursor over the tool bar in the 3D viewer, it tells you the action in the command line. For example, if you place it over the four arrows on the left side of the 3D window, the command line will read “Pan tool”
@@LiveLightLIGHTING ah man, thank you so much! I’ll check that out the next time I’m on my laptop. That was driving me nuts! 😂
I have not as yet found a syntax way to split a delay on selected fixtures, I find the clicking around a bit annoying. I prefer to use in the commandline something like Delay 0>10>0. Not had success with that.......What do you know, is that still not something that works or as a Fat Frog programmer do I not know what I am doing?
I use Delays fanned across all sorts of things to look better than I am, and also as you know with Hog 2, lets not talk about the other ones, that pulling out a colour only delay is somewhat funky.
The question is can it be done in the command line? Don't make me turn the desk on to answer my own question.
Hi Andy. I would probably type something like: store sequence 1 cue 1 FadeDelay 0 thru 2 thru 0
You can also tap the TIME key twice to get the FadeDelay. 😀
I am pretty sure that will do the trick, without having tested it 🤓
@@Event-Lighting I been using the time button and via the delay sheet.....if thats whats its called, seems a faff. I sure the command line was a bit ropey, maybe a software update will have changed that....
Super helpful video. At 11:24 it returns back to magenta as the defined colour in the cue. Say you wanted this to be a flash effect and u didnt always know what colour you would be returning to, is there away to almost use that second cue as a release back from white into whatever colour previously 'owned' that light, while retaining the same delay effect? Thank you.
Yes you can make cue 2 a “off” for your colors. And the delay the off like you did the color. 😀
@@Event-Lighting thank you so much! What would the syntax look like for that
@edfrearson5 If you have stored cue 1 with a "split time" say 0 thu 1 second.
You can store cue 2 and right click one of the color wheels. Then you can select OFF and store that. (Make sure it says "feature" so you do it for all color parameters)
When you have done that you need to edit the cue and delay to color 0 thru 1 second. Let me know if it works for you 😀
can you show us how to make time code?
Hi Clazz. Yes - i will definitely make a timecode episode at some point 😀
Could you make a video ma already marked color picker and position how to fill tha macro
Hi Unni. I am not quite sure what you mean? Is it more macro tutorials? 😀
@@Event-Lighting ma already created macro in demo show. That macro import to my show how to works . Color picker macro
On the Macro buttons, how did you get the colored buttons for Store and Update? Sorry to keep bothering you!
Hi Mike. You are not bothering me, you are more than welcome to ask questions 😀 If you use the swipes on the macro, and go into edit - you can see a tap in the top called appearance. If you press that you will get a list of possibilities. If you go down to the bottom of the list you can create a new appearance. Then just select a color you like 😀😀 When you have created a appearance - you can reuse it in other locations 😀
@@Event-Lighting Thank you. I got it!
Perfect 👍👍👍
Ty sir ....show how to lock desktop with password
Hi Rehan.
You can´t - You can lock and unlock the screens on GrandMA3 onPC with F9 - but no password.
When changing the value of cue, first enter from edit. Thank you for not knowing.
Hi Seiji. I say enter “please” in my videos, because the enter key on all GrandMA consoles is called please 😀😀 www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinteresting/comments/chli5s/this_lighting_desk_has_oops_and_please_keys/
