This is great, but I think it's interesting that Joan is actually only at her best with a room full of her hardcore fans in front of her. There are plenty of bands that aren't great live, but Joan Jett and the Blackhearts always play their music flawlessly AND make their fans feel like the love goes both ways. You simply have to see this band live to get how really good they are.
What a legend! When I was a teen in the 80’s I wished I could be a rock star like her. I’m going to see her in concert with Poison, Def Leppard and Motley Crue🤘🎵
I can not wait for this show, going to be totally awesome I already know. Joan is freakin AMAZING, her music is timeless and perfection and she is so very beautiful.
I found out watching this GCS episode that I was at the Runaways final show 12/31/78 at the Cow Palace. All these years I never knew that. The Readymaids, a local SF band opened up, the Runaways came out next, then Rick Derringer then Sammy Hagar. Ronnie Montrose came out for the encore Rock Candy. I will never forget that show. I had no idea they would become iconic. Joan mentions that in the interview.
Joan Jett look like she could have been Judge Judy's daughter. Seriously!!! I love Joan Jett she's a beautiful woman and a hell of a rocker!!!!!!! I guess I should just say that Joan Jett is fine as hell. With Judge Judy's attitude. Still fine as hell 2 this day!
You see; I *want* to like this more than I do- I'm going to embrace my inner Simon Cowell when I say that as a vocalist and musician overall, it's not that it sounds forced per-se; but it's like finding your old leathers from that one summer where you thought you'd lost it or something? while partying and shit happens, right? oh well, right? Amazing news, RIGHT?! but instead of being vaguely inspired, there's this dissonance akin to listening to the judgmental friend express disapproval through disgust at someone sleeping with their secret crush from a little while back, but not out of jealousy, because their crush turned out to not only be vindictive, but high-school style drama has everyone being gossipy little tweets about bird-brain or beak-lips or whatever. The utter contempt in "I hate myself for loving you" seems to wrest the listener's attention from one thing and into the zone with steaming words that subtly glow alongside that hidden smirk that Joan Jett annunciates so vividly, and I wish I could hear *that* Joan singing *THAT* Jett; but have the song be cherry bomb- she is without a doubt THE BEST vocal sound for this track, I'd rather not even listen to anyone else try to cover it- but the fact remains that I can hear that she has her stance towards the song, but Bruce Lee's words regarding water flow/crash comes to mind as being disregarded or used incorrectly; I stopped the track initially after hearing "Well I..," instead of a bottom-of-the-fist thump "Can't...," and nobody is getting any younger here(citation needed) and as a 27yo male finding this much critique on this ww3 bombshell of a woman, I can't help but feel a little distant seeing as this is what she put to video; but hey, this is a sessions recording. it's hit-or-miss for quality because it's either a bill-payer or an exposure technique.. or something. I'm going to listen to "I hate myself for loving you" before going back to soundcloud trying to dig up rock/metal remix gems for my own experiments. If God is a woman, her name is Joan Jett and we tremble in thine majesty \m/
The greatest female frontman ever, Love this version so much better than Cherie curry version respectfully,Joan can make anything sound better,The greats always do,Rare you hear a song performed better than the original version this one is a perfect example
Good to see Joan's guitar ability has remained the same for 40 years...which is to say she still completely sucks. I know 10 year old kids with more ability.. And she's in the Rock Hall of Fame 🤣🤣🤣
Holy hell she looks GREAT after all these years!!!! You go Joan!!!
All natural, too
I'm girly but I'm also so Goth
@@Triple3hot pretty sure she got some plastic surgery done 🤔

Joan Jett definitely embraced the Philly and Maryland accents. She sung at the Baltimore Orioles game in the run for the pennant.
and slight jersey also
Something about Joan Jett singing “Hello world I’m your wildest girl” you truly are and we love you for it.
What a bad-ass! She's still got it!

Joan can make any song sound better, including this one, This song sounds alot better with her on vocals instead of Cherie, respectively

Nah runaways version edges it , more raw and fresh
The song could've done with another solo and chorus before finishing.
Is she even real?
+Ariel RedHair She's real, and she's my ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-cherry bomb.
Ted was right
Those tattoos look awful.
sadly, she looks as old as the song is; in her older videos, she looks hot (especially Do U wanna touch)
She looks great. She is 60 years old. I am 45 and I look like shit.
