- Does Christianity exist in Pakistan?
That was what we were wondering before coming to this Islamic country. Can people of other religion practice their faith openly in the Islamic Republic Pakistan?
Well, we found our answer when we visited one of the oldest Cathedral in Lahore (Cathedral Church of The Resurrection). The exterior looks like we were in medieval Europe. And the interior displays gothic style designs with beautiful arches and chandeliers. We also had a chance to interview the Pastor whom shared his view about living as a Christian minority in Pakistan. Check out our vlog!

Churches are being tolerated to propagate the illusion that there is freedom of religion in Pakistan, when reality is otherwise.

Being a Swedish christian i have traveled from Multan to Abbottabad and visited churches in 35 cities and i was shocked to see that how they are situated in mixed neighborhood. Even muslim goes there for Weeding photo shoots and very open society. I must say Christians are more acceptable in Pakistan as compare to Muslims in Europe.
Good & honest observation Erik. When I was in school (CPS Sialkot) I had 2 very good christian friends, David & Samuel. My chemistry teacher was also a christrian Late Mr. Asi. He was the nicest guy in the school. And can never forget my school principle Late Mr. John. He was a wounderful guy.

Hey, if you ever decide to come back to Pakistan, there's a very beautiful church in Sangla Hill (near Faisalabad), do visit it.
We were honestly wondering if there are other religion that exist in Pakistan other than Islam. Surprised to find that Pakistan has freedom of religion and that there are many other places of worship in Pakistan. The beauty of diversity❤️ Travelling teaches us so much about the world🌍
There are Sikh shrines mostly in Punjab ,Hindu temples mostly in Sindh and Baluchistan ,churches and not to mention many Buddhist stupas in swat
There is a must watch place, near Lahore. Gurdwara Kartar Pur Sahib. You guys must visit there to have an idea about minorities status. This Sikh religious place is close to Indian border. And there is a large numbers of Sikh community living in India. Pakistan government has provided a corridor for Indian Sikh pilgrims to visit this holy place without any passport and visa requirement. That is a place to visit for wisdom lovers like you.
Hindus,sikhs,persi, cristians there worship places in Pakistan
Go visit Texila, its near Islamabad. There you'll find Jaulian Buddhist Stupa & Monastery its amazing.
Visit Gurdwara Kartarpur. It's a must see and near Lahore

I am a muslim and went to Christian medium schools most of my schooling years. We never even thought that we are in a christian school. It is a predominant Muslim country but the Christian population is very large especially in cities in eastern provinces of the country (Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and other cities and towns in Punjab province especially).

D Gothic style architecture of d cathedral building is really beautiful. Islamic architecture n European architecture, two of my favorites.
Yeah I also noticed the Islamic style in there.. the striped pattern on the edge of arches inside..which we see in Egypt, Masjid e Nabawi..Turkey..a very typical one was the 1st one I noticed.
The building from outside was pretty much a cathedral. I noticed there was no trinity though. Eastern Christianity or orthodox christianity is different than Roman christianity which I see in the West.

I am from abbottabad kpk we have 3 churches here , st Luke's church is the oldest church in my city built by Britishers back in 1860 when you visit north explore abbottabad too and visit this church especially

Hello. St Luke's Church in Abbottabad , Pakistan , was completed and consecrated in the year 1864 not 1860. One of my relatives served as vicar there prior to 1947 and I have visited there a number of times and read the records and registers .
If I may please correct, St John's is the oldest church in Peshawar , completed and consecrated in 1860. The All Saints church was completed in 1883 and formally consecrated in 1884. For your information .

I live in Pakistan and move into different rentals. Almost everytime we had christian neighbours or sharing different portions into the same house and we always had very friendly relations with them.

Pakistan also build Kartaar pur corridor temple for Sikh community recently. Every day thousands of people from all over the world visit and do worship. Pakistan is completely safe for minorities. Some bad incident happened but percentage is so little, media take those incidents to potray Pakistan negatively. I had so many Christian friends while living in Pakistan, they are loyal with country and experience freedom of religion.

@@JetLagWarriors between 2004 to 2015, due to terrorist activities at Afghanistan border, some extremists groups did violence in all over Pakistan. At that time no body was safe. Thanks to Pakistan military operations, they have sacrify more than 30 thousands soldiers to counter terrorist activities and secure the land. I live in Europe as a minority, generally European countries considered safe for minorities but still sometimes few people or small percentage of population create problems for minorities. It happens all over the world but Scandinavian countries, Canada and new Zealand are best example for minorities safety. 🙂.

Was wondering why you guys didn’t upload a video yesterday but I am very happy to see today’s video as it showcase a truly wonderful aspect of Pakistan. No matter who you are or what religion you worship in the end all that matters is that you are all Pakistani. It is basically like in Malaysia where we have Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, Sikhism and also all those aborigines like Kadazan, Murut, Bajau, Dusun and etc with their religion. All of us have different religion but we are still Malaysian.

There are dozens of churches in Lahore alone, this cathedral is my home :) really enjoyed this vlog, beside this cathedral there is roman catholic cathedral which is also worth watching, St.Andrews's church empress road and Mary Magdalene church Lahore cantt are also worth watching!
I was trying to figure out if the Cathedral was Catholic or Anglican. Given the British were here until 1947, I would have guessed that the biggest church in the city would be Anglican.

This is the Anglican Cathedral and still there there is flag of England on the tower of the building, and yes it is one of the biggest but Churches like these are also present in Pakistan

What a gorgeous cathedral! Reminds me of the Addams Family house 😂. I see a slice of Malaysia in this vlog. Where I'm from, you can see a temple, Buddhist monestary, mosque and church lined along the same road. Quite the sight to behold

I Think there are 4-5 churches in Lahore city alone... Karachi has even more . There are Temples, Mandirs and Gurudawars for other regilious minorities. In November 2019, Pakistan has inaugurated the biggest Gurudawara in Kartarpur for Sikh Community.

@@JetLagWarriors Hey Guys just wanted to say we don't eat meat or heavy food every day( only 2,3 /week)however we eat out only for the sake of meat dishes and Pakistani snacks.The best vegetarian food is home cooked by our moms, so if ur taking a break try to find a cafe with home cooked food or the cook at the place ur staying (if any ) could make em for you:
Daal( lentils, different types ) with boiled rice
Kari( pakora dipped in yogurt based curry)
Aloo gobhi( potato and cauliflower)
Mix sabzi( mix vegetables) and many more. You can eat all these with roti or rice. You can find them at proper resturaunts too not that I have ever ordered that 🙈
Steve, we finally had nihari today. My husband had been craving it since the video in which you had it, and it got too much for him to bear. Today he marched in and announced, "I have taken matters into my own hands" and shared that he'd ordered nihari from BBQ Tonite. Needless to say he was a happy camper at lunch today!

The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “If anyone wrongs a non muslim, detracts from his rights, burdens him with more work than he is able to do or takes something from him without his consent, I will plead for him (the non muslim) on the Day of Resurrection.” Narrated by Abu Dawood, 3052; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood.
