I've preferred polos to tees since I was a kid, even when they were out of fashion. And you're absolutely right about a low-price polo being a better option if it fits; that's why I'm lucky that I found such a cheap option for myself.
I have to wear a burgundy Polo T shirt for work as it’s my uniform. I wear a size small, tucked into my black or dark blue cargo trousers with black shoes. Thanks for the tips for the Polo T-shirts with other clothing choices. 😎
Great video, Antonio, but regarding the tucked in polo, I have a gut so tucked in doesn’t look good on this body the way it did on your models. I guess one needs to go with what looks best and what feels most comfortable.
Great advice as always Mr. Centeno! And yes the Polo is a great substitute for the casual T Shirt as we age and looks fantastic without looking too stuffy with either a Sports Jacket or Blazer. Thank you and your Team for all the great content you guys make!
I'm just here to say how much I love that you have an Explorer I on your wrist in the thumbs-up still at the end of your intro. Explorer I is fantastic, and I love mine! 'rah!
Love the polo shirt mainly because I golf. However, when wearing these types of shirts, I become aware of sweat stains showing in the armpits. Have you made a video about hyperhidrosis? What products would you recommend?
My first suggestion, to everyone, is to do the work to GET RID OF THE DAD BOD!! The rest of the fit will come easier. Quality material and quality fit are worth the money most of the time. I am still wearing Polo shirts that I BOUGHT IN THE EARLY 80s. Learn to sew and repair. The fact that you have a skill makes the manufacturer realize that THEY are the option and must work for your purchase.
very true. A female friend told me that instead of your clothing following your body, its better that your body following your clothes (of choice), meaning try to change ones mindset to gain a better body. But my wifey kinda feels sad when I loss my dad body since she used to like that squishy pillow stomach 😂
I buy my polos from this "hood" clothing store. They have them for about 15 bucks. Thick material and great colors. But the cut is surprisingly flattering for my body. Sleeves are fitted and perfect lenght. Not to short that rides up my armpit and not long that they look sloppy. Colar is not flimsy and it hugs the body nice without showing off my dad bod. It does the contrary, it highlights my good areas and makes me look "buff".
I wear polos all the time but they have to be the soft cotton polos, the cotton poly blend with the texutre doesn't wear properly. It tends to scrunch up on my shoulders & I look like I have shoulder pads because those aren't really fitted for a muscular guy like myself. But I agree, they're an easy dress up & look great.
To each their own: I tend to find the exact opposite. Not only have my cotton-poly shirts of all types typically outlasted pure cotton (at least at my price point), but they dry out more easily and, due to the sensory sensitivities I have as the result of autism, they feel smoother and cooler on my skin. I have also not suffered the same fit-related problems.

Once I started wearing polos I got a compliment by another guy in the gym changing room. He asked me: "Are you going to a party or something?" I was wearing my polo with a necklace on top of it, with black sweatpants, white tennis socks and white sneakers. Polos really make you look a little bit more respectable.
@@msk3905Why? I thought it looked nice. And the collar prevents me from wearing any necklaces on my neck because they can't be seen. Plus my necklace has a pendant in it if that changes anything
Which polos from Collars & Co are the ones you can take out of a suitcase and wear without ironing? Don't see any where they talk about that as a selling point.
Thinking of using Polo Shirts again as I had a time I realy hated them xD. But gues it will be even harder now to find the exact one I'm looking for with all the details right xD
What about for the guys who choose the fries instead of the salad? What about for the bigger guys? Some of us are losing weight but want to still look good along the way.
The 80s 'rich kids' trend, with layering 3 or 4 RL, Lacoste or Robe Di Kappa (on the same level back in the day..) and coming back after lunch break with another 3 or 4 different polos on top of each other. 🤓
It's unfortunate that Collars amd Co. Only sells shirts for taller dudes. Their models are 5'10" wearing smalls, so being 5'6", they don't have anything for me.
Good timing this, I've never worn a Polo before until recently, my girlfriend returned from a trip to Italy and bought two for me, a very similar blue one to what you're wearing, and a beige one, I typically wear the grandfather shirt with suspenders, a classic look one might say so this sudden change was difficult, I had no idea what I was wearing so I am grateful for this video.
What are your thoughts on buttoning the top button of a polo? Or a dress shirt without tie? I would love to see a video with your take on the top button of a shirt
The funny thing is the button down collar was invented for polo playing because the players didn't want the collars flying up and then the polo shirt, invented not for polo, was then adopted by polo players because they could turn up the collar. Make up your minds, lads!
Collars & Co are 100% polyester. 🤮. A stylish gentleman should never wear polyester. The only acceptable fabrics are cotton, linen, wool or silk. NO POLYESTER . This also applies to performance suites.
@@spaztekwarriorI think the op has a point. It’s hard to find natural materials however You will look way better in natural. IMO The new poly is much better than the stuff when I was a kid! 🤮😂
Agreed. It’s not just about style. Research has shown synthetic materials are actually electrically charged differently from natural fibers and pull energy from you. Hi Antonio,
Lacoste Polo are my favorite! ❤❤❤ my Lacoste. Hang dry after washing no Dryer.

Polos are a nice step up from t shirts. The collar makes all the difference
Timely video. Just returned from brief vacation in Johannesburg after buying several polo t-shirts at Ralph Lauren, Woolworths and Edgars
