Sid returns as a playable character in the non-canon video game Buffy: Chaos Bleeds. After his curse was broken in "The Puppet Show," the First Evil stole his soul and placed it in a duplicate dummy body of the one he was trapped in. After the First is defeated, Sid disappears in a flash of light, free at last. Chaos Bleeds is, as far as i'm aware the only game where you get to play as Willow & Xander. Be warned, spoilers for season 5. The game has also been novelised as a book by the same name.

Buffy stuck to a monster of the weak format for a good while. But Joss Whedon did an amazing job weaving in story and world building. Season 2 is when we start really falling into more character relationships, and then by Season 4 you just are in love with every character.
Nightmares is my favorite episode since Witch and SMG's acting is a good portion as to why. She's such a good crier in saying that she's very good at not only showing emotion but also making you feel that emotion. First real taste of that in the show

I'm completely aging myself, but I remember watching Buffy live on the WB. It was, and remains, one of my favorite TV shows of all time. I miss the days of 22 episode seasons! There are genuinely excellent episodes in practically every season, but my absolute favorites are in season 4, 5, and 6 (Hush, The Body, and Once More With Feeling!). It will definitely be a while, but I can't wait to see your reaction to these three, and to feel the feels myself all over again!
When I saw episode 10 (nightmares) for the first time, the talk between Buffy and her dad really resonated with me.. I was a teenage girl, my parents were divorced and the way my father treated me felt like he hated me and or didn't care about me.. The things Buffy's dad said to her were what I suspected how he felt about me.. I always felt like Buffy's nightmare was my reality but tried to convince myself that I must be wrong.. A couple of years ago when I was a lot older, an adult, I finally had the courage to tell my dad that the way he treated me felt like he hated me and he answered "well of course. You have to understand. You know what your face looks like, so you have to make allowances for my behavior towards you since you deserve it." It was kind of a nightmare come to life, but in a weird way it set me free instead of devestating me.. ended my contact with him that day and that was the best decision I ever made..
One little detail in the nightmare episode I always thought was very sweet was that one of Xander's fears was nazis, given that Willow, his lifelong best friend, is Jewish.
RIP, Sid the Demon Hunter. IIRC, the nightmare with Buffy's dad is the first time we see her cry. And when Buffy cries, you FEEL it. It won't be the last time.
"Let's not give Xander too much credit." Why the heck not? I mean, I imagine grabbing the coach like that was pretty cathartic for Xander. This episode is our first solid clue that Xander lives in an abusive home and has a parent that has in the past beaten him. Sooo...helping capture another kid's abuser probably had him riding a nice safe high. Just sayin'.
I still regularly have nightmares that I can’t find my classroom, forgot to study for a test, can’t remember my locker combination, etc. and I’ve been out of high school for 12 years now lmao
Cordy's bad hair day was a great callback to The Puppet Show. Same with Willows performance anxiety. Which I also have. Even just class presentations were increadibly nerve-racking for me.
I love Cordelias nightmares! And what I like to point out is: her fear of beeing dragged into the chess club doesn't seem to be of having to play chess. But rather about others perceiving her as being a nerd. Maybe something to keep in mind.

Cordy is so masterfully written. It's easy to make people like the hero who saves countless lives (although some people fail, and not for the lack of trying), but writing a high school queen bitch so likable - I'm still not sure how it works.
I never get how no one notices in the Nightmare episode that Cordy was wearing a nightmare clown outfit that she usually wouldn't be caught dead in lol

Lie down to help test the "magic truck" guillotine that just chopped a melon in half? Really? Turn his back on the zookeeper who sure knows a lot about the primals? Of course it makes for more drama, but Giles does seem to be a bit too trusting of people sometimes, given all that he knows. Wisdom isn't his best attribute.

Having the most Wisdom doesn't necessarily mean you have a lot, just that you have more. I would put him at a little above average, but I think his Intelligence is very high. I would put Willow at a little below average Wisdom. Spoilers... Giles at least recognizes that using magic recklessly is dangerous, while Willow simply assumes she can do whatever she wants with it, without repercussions. But part of that is Giles' learned experience, through his less mature exploration of magic - he learned his lesson the hard way, by being a lot like Willow when he was young. He has gained some Wisdom over the years as he aged and accumulated various experiences, but that just moved him up to the just above average point. In D&D terms, he added to Wisdom through both getting older and leveling up. ;)
People do call her Cordy! Sadly, except in international versions (like French), people don't call Xander "Alex". I adore Princpal Snyder, he becomes pretty interesting, and Armin is such a great actor!

Most 90s shows were aired as double-episodes on one day of the week, and most followed the format: one episode filler, one episode that went on the main story. Not only Buffy, but mostly all other 90s shows too. And Buffy always took a part of some movie that was the hype at that time, and turned it into an episode (not going 100%, but twisting it - sometimes more, sometimes less. (Here we had Inspiration from the Chucky Franchise (Childs play) and Nightmare on elm-street)
Best thing about the Puppet Show episode is our introduction to Snyder, one of the great characters in the show who has really got it in for the Scoobies straight off. Again S1 is hard going for newbies to the show, as many of the storylines are fairly weak, love the fact that you really enjoy these early episodes. You really seem to be loving this show as the Series progresses, and believe me from mid Season 2 onwards it improves leaps and bounds. Nightmares was one of the better written episodes of BTVS in S1. The interesting concept here of everyone's nightmares coming true in reality, also the the spectre of child exploitation here with the demon used as the metaphor, even though we see the coach as the real villain causing the distress to Billy Palmer. This episode is definitely a step up for show in S1 and really shows where the series can go.

But Cordelia becomes a main player in that show. The character arc of Cordy is one of the greatest in television and one of the most destroying. Seriously she becomes someone that you will love ❤️ a lot of people don’t like Angel… I don’t know why. But she is a reason to watch it😉
