The guys at my store are fine with playing stairway to heaven. But they banned me from playing the tropper by Iron maiden
Stairway wasn’t even a single. And it became the most iconic rock song in history. Imagine if it had been
And you know why....because in the song are included several styles, starting with folk, then blues, then rithm and blues, rock progressive rock, and heavy rock finally, touching all the styles in order..that´s why is the most complete song ever writed.

Top 3 are spot on! In my heart Hey Jude, BohRhap and Stairway are equal. Greatest songs ever and always can hear either of these one more time

I don’t care what you say, Bohemian Rhapsody and Stairway To Heaven are both masterpieces!
I genuinely only came here to check that they formed the top 2
Don't think anyone disagrees.

C'mon free bird has to be in there
Gotta add space oddity
Hendrix’s version of All along the watchtower is every guitar player’s dream.
YEA HE CAN PLAY 4 THINGS AT ONCE AND MAKE THE SOUND OF WIND COME FROM A GUITAR I DONT C WHY HES NOT #1
Yep Bob Dylan made the song and Jimi Hendrix brought it alive.
Don’t understand why that wasn’t on the list. He literally took someone’s song, transformed it into one of the greatest songs ever, then the creator of the song straight up said “yeah his was way better” and tried to play it like Jimi did.
@@Potato_3336 well Bob Dylan's most famous song is Like A Rolling stone.
@@Potato_3336 either that or Hey Joe.
AC/DC, Guns and Roses, Survivor, Journey, Boston, Fleetwood Mac, and Van Halen have left the chat

Stairway to Heaven as #1, I 100% agree with.
Queen is my favorite band, but Stairway to Heaven definitely deserves the #1 spot with how influencial it is.
It's impossible to do an iconic rock songs list with only 10
Nuno Sousa tru
Nuno Sousa at least top 150
a dolphin nah
Nuno Sousa more like top 50
KRACKER 50 can but you have then still people that then say why is this song not in it
Stairway Is quite possibly one of the greatest songs ever made.
Strongly agree
I hate that song lol. Just my opinion though
RonnieGamesFTW to each his own. I just think it's really artful how the song builds and seems to add layers, while simultaneously taking them away. There was clearly a lot of thought put into how the song was constructed, and how each component works together.
Henry Marston Led Zeppelin had some better songs, like Kashmir (one of my all time favourites).
Kashmir is FANTASTIC, nice and heavy and strong. But stairway is a song that I have loved since i was old enough to form words. Nostalgia is a funny thing but as i grew older, I learned to appreciate the song a lot more.
"thanks to Pages complex guitar work and Plants unique singing style" (sad Bonham noises)
Plus -sad JPJ's bass, mandolin, keyboards, underrated tears-
Smells like teen spirit should’ve been on the list, almost everyone you meet has heard it at least once.
It should be a felony that teen spirit, sweet child o mine and back in black arnt on this list lmao
I hate to be that person, but... any of these is way better than anything today. 🤷🏻♀️
It's True tho.
How surprising that a top 10 list compiling the best of the best with a century of music to choose from is better than most things right now. Who would've thought?
Well, you're not wrong.
So true
What a stupid comparison
When i saw bohemian rhapsody at no. 2 i immediately knew who was no. 1
ikr all of these top 10 videos is bohemian rhapsody and stairway to heaven in number 1 and 2
So did every adult in the World who followed the list.

Let me guess your number 4 is Hotel California and 5 is Paranoid
That's my top three! Good choice
Most Queen Fans here are from the movies. Queen is really amazing, and so did Led Zeppelin.
But for an iconic rock song, it's a tie for both of them. Stairway and Boh Rhap are two of the greatest songs ever written.
Yeah I've seen a splurge of Queen fans after the movie. Like that's fine but it's so obsessive...
In my opinion, stairway narrowly edged out bohemian
basketball3825 absolutely not and Led Zeppelin literally plagiarized the riff, not to mention they plagiarized a bunch of their other songs
Offus Youfus prove it
@@offusyoufus4278 the opening shares a similarity to another song, but it is not a complete copy, different riff. The rest of the song is pure magic

CIAgent42 I agree with you about The Who, for the same reasons. I would have probably slid a live version of Chicago's 25 or 6 to 4 in it's place as Terry Kath in his prime really smoked others guitarists (supposedly Hendrix said he was better than him) and they pioneered the heavy use of a horn section in rock. Queen? I don't think so. I'd definitely have put CSN&Y's Woodstock on the list as it truly is iconic, defined a whole generation and it's lyrics, vocals, instrumentation and song structure are unique in the history of rock. Then again the list is subjective and I'm being subjective too so don't go hating on me.
Gambler Genes The Who is One Direction. Those One Direction people ripped off The Who!
I always wonder how The Who were just SO energetic I mean damn not even my little cousins have that much energy lol.

I didn't even have to wait until the end.
I knew Led Zeppelin would be #1.
Yankee watchmojo always puts Led Zeppelin at number 1
Muffin ASH because they deserve it
@@Blitz-xo4oj Funny thing is, I was hoping for Whole Lotta Love, but knew deep down they'd take Stairway.
Steve Johnson This entire list could be of led Zep songs to be honest.
Muffin ASH that's because they are by far greatest.
Stairway to heaven is by far the most iconic rock song and for good reason. Short of a country without wifi I dare you to find a population that would disagree
stop it eddie,its over played

They're just going to diss ACDC, Guns and Roses, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Metallica, Poison, Kiss, and Kansas like that
your the only smart commenter here
yes, face it, these acts are not nearly as good as the songs on the list.
Yeah really can't thinn off a good reason to leave these artists and bands out
+Ste-V YES
Kiss is shit
YOU MISSED ONE OF THE MOST ICONIC ROCK SONGS OF ALL TIME!!!!
we will rock you, another of Freddie's masterpieces.
I mean seriously I dont think there is an american child alive today that wont know the beat and the title.
Levi Karkiainen I think they decided to put only one song per artist/band and no Queen song can compare to Bohemian Rapsody.
true....but still....they should do it properly. its called the top ten most iconic not the top ten most iconic with only one song per an artist.
Actually, Brian May wrote we will rock you. Freddie wrote we are the champions, which as you know, goes hand in hand with we will rock you
Levi Karkiainen I am 13 years old. I treasure Queens songs :d
Older music is way better that today’s music, there is just more enthusiasm
I too enjoy the music of the '60's and '70's the most. But virtually everyone says that about the music of their formative years versus the music that came after it. Just ask your kids what they think of your music. And think of your parents music.
Hell of a list and that includes the honorable mentions.
My List
1 “Stairway to Heaven”-Led Zeppelin
2 “Bohemian Rhapsody”-Queen
3 “Hey Jude”-The Beatles
4 “Smells Like Teen Spirit”-Nirvana
5 “Paint It, Black”-The Rolling Stones
6 “Another Brick In The Wall Pt 2”-Pink Floyd
7 “Welcome to the Jungle”-Guns N Roses
8 “Dream On”-Aerosmith
9 “Fortunate Sun”-Credence Clearwater Revival
10 “Livin’ On a Prayer”-Bon Jovi
Bon jovi is hard rock can't be mentioned
Bon Jovi is a good pick

House of the rising sun wasn’t even an honorable mention which blew my mind
I'd be happy with the top three in any order. Though, all ten are amazing.
@@rileyraburn9090 Definitely need a longer list with no ranking
idk about your number one, when the levee breaks is, in my opinion, far superior to stairway to heaven.
Sure today’s music has its moment with recent indie rock songs but you can’t beat the classics
yup i want to go to the past to see the classic music and my grandpa
To me The Beatles A Day in The Life is more iconic than anything on this list, it showed how innovative The Beatles were and what could be done with music.
My god Watchmojo, what do you have against the 50's? Nothing from Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, or Jerry Lee Lewis? Sure, Chuck Berry got an Honorable Mention, but that should've been on the list. Also, Rush not even in Honorables? Seriously, Fly by Night, Tom Sawyer, Limelight and so many others could've at least been in Honorable Mentions.
Yeah, I was surprised that Elvis or Buddy Holly wasn't on the list at all as well. Rush is good, but I wouldn't consider them to be iconic, sadly.
Evil Presley is trash. He's the Justin Beiber of the 50's
whostolemyTV Yes, except musically talented, a good singer, not a horrible person, a good dancer, post-pubescent, and overall a talented artist.
Professor Mercury He didn't create music that really made you think. He was nothing but an entertainer - a good one - but not an artist.
I agree 100% man its bs
Watchmojo be like:
what's Guns N' Roses?
Ikr
Bad lmao
And AC DC
ikr no sweet child o mine or welcome to the jungle. also how did smells like teen spirit not make it? so pissed at watchmojo
@@Sam-qu4pm And ZZtop
These songs are amazing 🥰
Yeah both bohemian and stairway are iconic and hard to choose from but stairway is just......
yes, I totally agree with number 1.... I just love Zeppelin and Stairway to Heaven
RockForLife 12 I would switch Led Zeppelin with queen, its no doubt for me.
I think "paint it black" should've replaced "I can't get no satisfaction"
lol no just because it was in the bo3 trailer does not mean it should replace satisfaction
I never understood what's so great about Paint it Black. Gimme Shelter and Sympathy for the Devil are so much better.
+Daniel Lindberg lol its used for like every trailer ever and it is a really good song in general and its one of them classics that whenever you hear your either like 1 guitar hero and then sing along lol
Along the Watch Tower by Jimi Hendricks , The Rising Sun by The Animals shouldve been on the list IMO
+Edwin Echevarria i do agree with give me shelter

Blake Brinkmeyer you are a good list maker my friend
Did uhh.. You guys label Foxy Lady Purple Haze in the intro
Bob Bobson yes they did. thank you. we need to get their attention about this
He literally says foxy lady in the beginning how did they screw that up
Bob Bobson I think so
glad im not the only one who heard that
When talking about ICONIC rock songs, you have to add Jailhouse Rock. Not one of my personal faves but it is definitely iconic.
Not here to take a shit on today’s music, but growing up in the 2010s with rap, and now by 2020 ( I’m 20 yrs old) giving all types of genres a try, rock is just untouchable IMO. I just absolutely fall in live with the instruments the artists and bands played, compare concerts to now and then, legendary bands can play and sound the same over 50 years of time, nowadays it’s less skillful, and not as many play instruments and sound bad with autotune. We really progressed to fast, so great fun some friends got me into 60s,70s, even 80s rock
Nirvana is the most overrated thing ever. Fight me
I'd love to
lol i fucking hate nirvana
+Antón Lucas López Agras Finally people understand that Nirvana is just a bunch of garbage. Comparable to Nickleback and Coldplay
+Antón Lucas López Agras nah I agree ..it's not that I don't like them at all but it's just sort of gotten to the point where I roll my eyes whenever I hear their name ..or Smells Like Teen Spirit ...or grunge ...or Kurt Cobain
not so much because of them but because of all the hype surrounding them
+Anja Pöttinger that's exactly how I feel. It's not that they're bad, but people talk about them like they're a gift from the Gods.
Thank god Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin were on here at some point
It seems silly to try to rank these amazing songs.
Ranking Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix is impossible. Both were revolutionary things
Piano Man should have been.
1rst should’ve been since I’ve been loving you instead of stairway
WHY WASN'T QUEEN #1
Love it, watching this as I’m creating my own rock playlist on Spotify, love your number one pic but mine would still be Bohemian Rhapsody, just love it too much, also as 90s kid i think Nirvana deserve a spot! (I know it was an honourable mention), plus several rock classics with female vocals should have made the cut. (Evanescence, Edge of Seventeen, Zombie?)
This is one of the better MOJO lists.
