Also the use of the Word Auntie in the first video I believe is not what you were thinking…. They strongly believe in respect for their elders so it’s sort of like if you know the individual really really well but are not blood related you would still call them auntie (I believe I could be wrong) so as an example my best friends mother since I know her really well I’m able to call her by her first name but when I first met her I called her Mrs.(insert last name here)…. At least this is my understanding… being that I’ve been in similar situations with some Korean people I know…. Also another example with that now, in that group of people there was one older lady who had the same last name as me and obviously we were not related but still she considered me a sister…. Does this make sense at all???
Please understand BTS is different from other Kpop groups and BigHit is different from other idol music companies. These first few episodes can be misleading because it makes you think BTS management follows these guidelines the other idol members from other companies are talking about, but BTS and BigHit don’t do those things. Notice how when it is said idols don’t have a lot of creative freedom, you see Namjoon and Yoongi writing lyrics, or when it says idols have phone bans or something, you see the BTS members on their phones, or how when idols say they aren’t allowed to go outside the dorm, you see Yoongi walking around freely. It can be a confusing thing for new ARMY to make note of, but PLEASE notice these differences. It is vital to how BigHit runs differently, and therefore why BTS is so different from other idol groups from the very start.
Agree. Thank you for pointing this out. That's why BTS is much different compared to other groups. I'm so grateful to Bang Si Hyuk that he created his own company and decided to not be like to other company who's very strict and such. And I'm so happy that BTS used that freedom in a good way (I believe other artists in general is not like that), they still worked hard and full of dedication. In short, BTS got into the top by themselves that's why they deserved it. Sorry if my grammar is wrong
I think that was what Aneesa intended to do, to show the contradictions and ironies BTS have with Kpop, but I see how a lot of ppl will miss that, esp if they are new.......
@Chyn Chyn YEEEES!!! SO much thanks should go to BigHit and Bang for operating like this, it made all the difference. Honestly the whole reason Bang PD made BigHit and the first group he hand picked was so rebellious. They were INTENDING to rebel since the beginning, from idol practice to what idol music talks about, and I’m so glad they had the backing and bravery that they did in order to do so, and I’m so glad they have managed to keep the core of that principat until today. It’s phenomenal!!
I do agree.... but should also aknowledged that some members of other groups also write and produce their songs even in first album... But big Hit was definitely different from mainly the big 3.
I get what you're trying to say, but if you watch the episodes closely, that's actually the content creator's intention: to showcase how different Bighit & Bangtan are from the rest of the industry. It showcases the blood, sweat & tears...dedication & hardwork the guys put in, yet still have fun & be optimistic despite an unsure future PLUS given the creative freedom to put their stories into the songs they create & produce. Like Bang PD said...the one thing he wanted them to do was to put their own stories into it. 💜 #ARMYsince2014
I think it's important to notice the differences between BTS' worries and the other trainees worries. BTS' were worried about their own personal skills (not dancing well enough, song worries, etc), about not getting attention when they debut due to their small company, not having money, etc. While the other trainees seem to be living in fear of being cut from the company at any moment if they make one mistake, worrying about weight quotas, etc. BTS stayed until late hours because they WANTED to, while the other trainees HAD to. Obviously BTS had things they had to do too, they could've not made it to debut as Jimin almost did due to short training, but instead of using that as a fear to hold over them Bighit seemed to use it to encourage them to work harder and improve themselves. BTS were allowed to make mistakes without worrying they'd be thrown out of the company. I'm very glad that they all signed with Bighit, and that Bighit has caused a shift in the Kpop industry, lots of newer companies are giving their groups more freedom and treating them better due to BTS' success. These companies see that idols don't need to be punished and forced to do things in order to succeed, BTS are proof that freedom and happiness should be the most important thing.
Run BTS isn’t a docuseries, it’s a reality show where BTS plays games and does challenges, and basically makes fun of each other and tries to cheat for 20-30 minutes. It’s released everyTuesday for the last several years, so there are many many episodes. Some of them are kind of funny and some of them are hilarious, but if you want to learn the different personalities of the members and understand the dynamic and rapport that exists between the members it’s a good way to see that. Especially if you start from some of the earlier episodes where they are still quite young, and then see the more recent episodes to see how they have changed.
The fact BTS never flopped since debut is the hardest pill to swallow for some. They never flopped, their achievements were just never published or surfaced on search engines. Only a few years back did their early achievements resurfaced.
Honestly when Namjoon said "I was a good student and adults told me I would be successful but I had no dreams" (paraphrasing) I felt that because I was ABSOLUTELY that kid, I LOVED getting good grades and all the positive reinforcement I got for that, but then I finished university and.... that was it. I'm still struggling to figure out what to do in life when from like 5 years old until like 27 EVERYTHING was about "If I do well in school I get praised for it and people are impressed" then I graduated with 3 degrees and that was it. No more goals or, as he said, no more dream. I graduated about the time I got into BTS so that really connected with me. Their message made so much sense.
i'm a 20 year old dutch uni student majoring in history who grew up with and loooves nightwish (and all metal, as well as nearly every version of rock, alternative, classical, etc etc etc) (i even met floor jansen when i was younger and she was still with after forever because my parents knew her haha, i quite literally grew up in that music scene) and i absolutely love BTS. good music is good music and i think metal fans are some of the most appreciating music fans, which is why it's easy to love bts - because their music is just incredible.
BTS doesn't do variety shows so they made their own...Run BTS! It's not a docu-series, but rather a variety show where they do different fun things and challenges (i.e. sports, cooking, games, etc) There are rewards and punishments for the winners and losers. It's all great fun and very entertaining! Hope you enjoy it!
Please remember Korean age is one year older. When Junkook said he was 16 he was 15 international age. Subtract a year from each one. I love your reactions so far.
I have watched "Rise of Bangtan" several times now but it is best watched with others. I love seeing the reactions of Baby ARMYS as they learn about the Guys. Borrahae 💜🇺🇲
Young guys. Putting all their cards into one basket in a very poor company and it means endless hours of hard work, crappy living conditions, too little sleep and not even knowing if they are going to get to debute and have a chance. 7 strangers needing to learn how to work as a group. Learning to put their ego's to the side and put the group first. It must have been a worrying time of exhaustion and not being able to see their families during very long times. It can't have been easy and certainly not so fun a lot of times. What I love about seeing these old clips is to realize that they really haven't changed other than that they have matured. Their personalities is still the same. Their interaction with eachother and their humble and sweet personalities are still there intact.
Part of the reason that these music shows can be so important (especially for artists just debuting) is that it's a very good way to get attention when you may not have enough music or a large enough following for a proper concert. There were only three full songs on BTS's first EP so they couldn't have done a full show, so music show appearances along with fan meets were the only real opportunities they had to perform at the time. The more people that saw them on these shows the better because it would boost their sales to help the group survive long enough to make another album.
I really love BTS and BigHit for what they have done for the industry itself. You’ll find a lot of the harsh training regiments that were highlighted in these episodes and future episodes are from older groups. I think because of BTS a lot of newer groups (post 2018) have gotten a much nicer training system. It also feels like they have a lot more freedom than previously, although we can never be too sure what goes on behind the scenes but from the number of writing credits rookie kpop groups have on their music (Ateez, Stray Kids, Purple Kiss immediately come to mind), there has certainly been an increase in the participation in the creative process and I think BTS played a huge part in that. This isn’t to say that older groups had none - but i do believe they didn’t get a lot of creative freedom until later on in their careers. Of course there are still issues with a few smaller companies as you can’t fix them all but I truly admire what BigHit and BTS have done for the kpop industry.
You have to understand something. These boys were anti-establishment from day 1. And they were direct competition to the big 3 groups because there was so much buzz around their debut. So they were always going to get hate. I'm just so happy they pulled through beautifully.
Bang Sih Yuk has stepped down as Chairman of HYBE to go back to doing his first love - creating music. He still hold the majority of shares in HYBE and currently worth more than 2 billion USD.
This is perfect! I'm writing this before I even watch your reaction. I'm just loving your insights about our well-loved BTS. I'm sure not missing any of your reaction for anything with BTS content. I've already watched The Rise of Bangtan series but I'm gonna watch it again with you :) This is the best BTS documentary I've seen so far. And thank you, too! ♥
Jimin almost did not debut not because he isn't good but because of his short training time. He only had 9 months of training. Anyway, look at him now. Voted King of Kpop two years in a row and Korea's IT boy, #1 on the Male Idol Brand Reputation Index for 34 months straight. Only entertainer with 3 national level awards. And the song "Friends" which he produced (performed by him and V) is on The Eternals soundtrack!
what you'll see and notice is this documentary series perfectly blends descriptions of kpop and the industry with how bts doesn't completely fit into it in a lot of ways, and how they do in some others. so, some of these bans or bad experiences the idols talk about, bts never had to deal with and they show that in the footage. it's a masterfully done documentary.
About not showing "nibs" the dance MV for ON in 2020 was all about nipple flashing. I still remember my shock over it and watching many other reactions with the same shocking expression 🤣🤣
Debut. Pronounced DAY-BUE, noun. a first public appearance on a stage, on television, etc. the first appearance of something, as a new product. (of a young woman) a formal introduction and entrance into society, as at an annual ball. Lol, appreciate you doing these. These videos are a must for new ARMY, YES extremely well done. Thank you.
This is a great series! Aneesa (the creator of The Rise of Bangtan) shared that she has been working on this series (her labor of love) for over 3 years! She is taking viewer on a journey step-by-step from BTS' perspective not looking back on their days but living through them (with them). She edits their content to allow BTS to speak their thoughts, through their experiences at the time because BTS has been documenting themselves since BEFORE their debut, so there is A LOT of material to edit down to tell their story! She also gives an overview of the KPop history for those who are not familiar with the industry. She uses clips from different video clips of other idols/journalists interviews to try to give a broader perspective of the industry. Her skill as a professional video editor really shines through. Amazing work! I think many ARMY really like this series (besides it being extremely well made), she doesn't try to interpret what "she thinks" BTS is trying to say, she just shows the viewers exactly what they said and shared about what their thoughts were at the time. She is an "OG" KPop fan and BTS fan since pre-debut! She also shared that BTS has been the light in her darkness for many years now. She said she will be posting a new chapter every other week bc she's been extremely busy with her new "real" job as a video editor. She just announced that the final episode (Chapter 18) of Season 3, will be posted on Oct 28th. Then the final season of The Rise of Bangtan will begin airing Friday Dec. 31st on a bi-weekly basis. She didn't confirm how many total episodes before this is complete. Take your time and enjoy the journey!
I'm so happy to see you reacting to this..it's crucial information. Please don't miss reacting to the bonus content and deleted scenes for each chapter...equally good and equally important information and footage. How lucky are we that BigHit had the foresight to vlog their journey right from day one? The creator of this series is named Aneesa (and she has a team of ARMY helping her gather info) and she is a full time video editor in her day job and did an amazing job with this ongoing series. I am not your typical BTS ARMY demographic either (62 year old woman from Canada), but good music is good music and there is no age limit to that! I am going to subscribe to your channel now to watch you enjoy this journey....this is the best informational series about BTS out there and I am happy to watch it again with you. When a group debuts, it's when they are officially revealed to the public. At that point they have been practicing and perfecting their craft for up to 3 years and no one has heard much of their music yet. V was kept as a secret member until debut. They were pranking JK for his birthday. The reason I didn't like it is because he was such a young kid, away from his family for his birthday and not feeling secure in his job yet. Thanks for your reaction. I have found Doolset to be the most accurate lyrics and sometimes gives some cultural references. Most of the RUclips lyric videos are trash and just throw something out there for views. Explanation videos are often good regarding songs because there is so much symbolism in everything they do that isn't apparent to the casual listener.
So many things changed in the industry after BTS did something. It seems like everyone has to wait and see how people respond to something new BTS does before they can do it.
Well playing from the basement indie scene does exist in Korea, it's pretty strong really. But the lines between different genres and indie/mainstream are somewhat blurred. It's just a really vivid music scene over there in general
Jin came from a well off family and yet he embraced the trainee life and all the hardships he has to go through. According to some comments I've read also in here yt that during their trainee days Jin would treat his members whenever they crave for something to eat or just randomly using his credit card his mom gave him. And he still does it randomly like last year when Suga celebrated his birthday, he treated all the members and staff for dinner. They grow and become close to each other maybe because they lived in 1 house and whenever fights would arise Hitman Bang used to tell them to kill each other and no one would dare do that as how he sees it BTS dyingly love each other maybe it's one reason they really are caring to each other. You should watch RUN BTS series and BTS BOn Voyage where you can see them travelling, doing their own stuff. LIke Suga or Jin would cook for them all and the rest of the members would do their own share in helping what's needed to be done. They are so humble like if one would ask the other one to get something or bring something the other one would do with no objections. They always find something funny in every little thing they do. Like in Bon Voyage all of them would go to the grocery and would buy stuff they would all need. They all do the carrying and all. Even in series In The Soop it's just a happy vibe watching them. One thing I noticed is that they all have respect to Jin being the eldest and when RM says something they would all listen and obey including the eldest. And I salute RM for his sky high patience to all his members. Please react to the MV that they made, all 7 of them when they were at their hotel room in Chile. The song is titled Spine Breaker (its about social issues) pls check on the link ruclips.net/video/o2wHJr0NrT4/видео.html and watch the finished product or MV ruclips.net/video/36C6kO5lY7Q/видео.html Thank you.
The head creator of these videos does have a degree in videography so it makes sense that it looks so polished and professional. Thank you to her and the rest of her team 🙏
it's scary how fate works. The fact that Seokjin actually passed his first round of audition in SM entertainment but declined the 2nd round and chose Bighit, that Taehyung agreed to accompany his friend, that Namjoon got Bang PD's attention, Jimin and Hoseok auditioning for Bighit but Hoseok was gonna leave at one point but the members asked him to stay and Hoseok agreed because he trusted them, Jungkook seeing Namjoon and thinking he was cool, Yoongi wanting to just start his job there as a producer. You can't make this stuff up.
@@sariel8406 RUclips's gonna remove my reply if I put in the interview link. but he said "actually I did it. and they contacted me again but I didn't go."
@@notnamjoonsstanacc agree. I saw that too somewhere. I was surprised that time because I didn't know that, even his members are surprised too when he said that (as far as I can rmbr). I believe there's so many things we didn't know abt Jin, he's not that open compared to other members. He's very private and I respect that
Jin´s personality really changed from debut. He became more confident. I was shocked when he said "Mine (photos) aren´t good." during their debut photoshoot.
I was reading today that pay for Hybe personnel is a lot more than other companies (7 months to earn 12 months pay at for example SM). They also have amazing employee benefits and autonomy, flexible working conditions, eg 6 months maternity leave on full pay, unlimited annual leave, work from home, set your own hours etc.
@@JimGames One way is that some companies don't pay their idols until they have "repaid" the cost of their training. Not so much the majors these days but it still happens. Hybe doesn't do this. They do spend money on promotion and production. I am kind of surprised how polished the early years of BTS are given how little the company was earning (comparatively), but these days the money is obvious. Current series of "In the Soop" Hybe basically got a wish list off BTS, totally renovated 3 mansions and provided everything for a full 4 day break away. Filmed yes but very relaxed. They recently filmed an In the Soop with the group Seventeen in the location BTS used last year, so it looks like all groups will get the chance for this kind of totally secure, group led experience. Also allowing creative freedom including writing and producing means members have that income stream on top of any regular income from sales and performance. There's always the chance for exploitation when young people with big dreams meet corporations unfortunately.
Last I read the split of costs was one of the best in South Korean Kpop companies. For example, SM takes 90% of physical sales profit leaving 10% to artists For Big Hit Contract years: 7 years Physical sales: Agency (50%), Artist (50%) Physical sales renewed: Agency (30%), Artist (70%) Events: Agency (50%), Artist (50%) Overseas promotions: Agency (30%), Artist (70%)
@@HadassaMoon144 they have LESS THAN 2% COMBINED all 7 of them! how tf is that "major shareholders"?? can y'all educate yourself first or stop spreading misinfo?
Run BTS is their own variety show created because at the time they weren't invited to a lot of the popular Korean variety shows like most groups were. It's a great show to watch to get to know their personalities and their bond and to have some laughs. I've also learned so much about Korean culture through the show. Sometimes they will play games (made up by the staff, or real games like mafia or uno), sometimes they will play sports (tennis, badminton, paintballing), sometimes they will try something new (pottery, flower arranging), sometimes they'll do skits, or sometimes they will cook (which is always so enjoyable). They have over 150 episodes (2015-present) and it's always my go-to when I'm feeling down because they make me laugh. If you decide to watch the episodes I would love to watch along with you 😊
I really love this documentary cuz it starts of on history and it just not revolved instantly to BTS but it makes us feel the appreciation to the trainees and idols
To add: most trainees go into their career w a debt to the company bc they have to pay 50% - 100% back of what the company has invested in their training (living & training expenses). BH does not do that. There’s no trainee debt. Means unlike most of other groups, BTS had the luxury of starting their career w/o debt. So BH (now BigHitMusic under HYBE) is really a lot different from other companies. Also they split album sales 50/50 and everything else (oversea activities, commercials and the like are usually in favor for the artist (60-70%).
Cherry on top of this masterpiece...the creater has a background in film. This project was initially suppose to be like a couple hour film/movie/documentary, but turned into a 16+ episodes docu-series instead. This was her way of showing her friends and family the reasons why Bangtan is so important to her. 💜 Also, notice the titles of each episode to this docu-series....it's their song titles. 💜 DOOLSET Bangtan would be your best resource for lyrics translation. 💜 #ARMYsince2014
45:16 oh that's cool you're mentionning 2pac, Nas, Biggie bc they're a big inspiration to the rapline, espicially RM, they mentionning them in one of their song dedicated to their love for hiphop :) and RM talk about Nas in one of theses early logs too :)
Yeah the instrument choices and effects on them are similar to the music of that era and style. It's cool because it's not ripping them off in any way. The sound design just pays homage to the style.
Really enjoyed the double feature, great idea thank you! I too have watched these and am happy to do so again and again. It's amazing to see just how far they have come, especially in light of the constant criticisms and hatred coming their way from the get go. Their work ethic is incredible, wish the youngsters in the West would be as diligent. Perhaps following BTS will inspire many to do the same. Love these young men to bits! Looking forward to watching the rest with you... 💜💜💜
These documentaries are fabulous aren’t they? So professional and well done. They are still being created though so you’ll probably get to the point where, like the rest of us, you’re caught up and anxiously awaiting the next installment. Loving your reactions, by the way. And that overprotective attitude? Yeah, we all started out that way. I’d say you’re well on your way to joining ARMY. 💜 Keep it up!
It one of the best documentary series by Armys infact old or new every army watch this ☺ its reallt good informative. For song translation i would suggest Doolset is the best and also provides Korean References if there is any in a song.
Yay! Glad you were able to get this up. I figured it was the album reaction that was getting blocked. If you are able to maybe you can do a cut down version of it, If you are able to. But this was great.
Age is calculated differently in Korea. For their international age you need to reduce what they say by 1 or 2 years. So for example, Jungkook was 15 when they debuted and 13 when he first became a trainee.
I'm a fan of Nightwish since 2003 and a fan of BTS since 2018, and I know quite a few who are part of both fandoms! There seems to be an overlap of these groups - people who gravitate towards sincere music and artists who are not afraid to try new things and break genre boundaries
I know it’s extra, but there’s a lot more content with this series, the bonus content and deleted scenes are also very good with lots more interesting clips:)
It was worth the wait! I really enjoyed watching that with you. The Rise of Bangton team take it slow and really let the story develop. Can't wait for the next one. 💜
So glad you posted this! Hope it stays for all the episodes. The JK prank at the end just reminds me of the kind of pranks from my childhood, savage but with love lol Must've cried all his stress out poor bunny
I'm super late to this, but something I think you missed was the comparison in these two parts- Typical K-pop company training program vs. BigHit's 'Just wing it' Trainee program. See, Bighit never had a trainee program like most companies do. You have to understand that these trainee programs eat up money. BigHit didn't exactly have the money to have the typical structured trainee program. So While a typical trainee day would be like 7am, vocal practice, 9am language classes, 11:30 acting class, 1pm lunch, 1:30pm health/workout.. etc. This wasn't BigHit's way. As Bang Si-Hyuk said, they didn't have that structure, they decided what was most important pretty much daily and would only focus on that the whole day. So as Bang mentioned in part too.. Practice was most important most of the time. So instead of all those extra things, these guys primarily focused on Vocal lessons and dance. two things all day with breaks. Workouts were done as well, but performance was their main focus. Also, the dieting thing, members would put themselves on diets if they believed they should. And on a few occasions they've been encouraged not to diet. But also, if you saw how these guys eat.. even when they 'diet' it's not just about food consumption, they might work out more and eat a little healthier during a certain amount of time. The prank wasn't that mean, but those who are sensitive to those kinds of things might view it as that. JK had said before that after that prank he did find it funny, there was no ill intent behind the prank, just a joke that pulled. Of course you can see immediately the members are praising him and being loving toward him, he is their little brother and they always check to make sure they didn't come off a certain way with one another. They've said that in past they pulled a lot of pranks on each other, most we've never seen because it's just between them. Which will most likely stay that way. But even now they still do prank each other from time to time. The only legit lyrics come from- doolsetbangtan.wordpress.com/ This ARMY is a translator who provides context. As an ARMY from the start, most of us from that time can attest that Doolset lyrics are the best, as they provide context and meaning. Once you get into the music you'll find you might be curious about the meanings of some stuff.. and for certain songs/MVs you'll get requested this channel- DKDK TV. They are the best when explaining BTS's MVs from the Korean prospective... and since BTS are Korean.. well it makes sense to have a Korean explain it.
I'm so happy you reacted to this, i haven't watched it yet but i hope you will also react to deleted scenes and bonus content right after each episode next time. There are a LOT of important information as well as some scenes to see better member's personalities. And the person who made it have so much work on doing it and providing it for free for everybody. Please don't forget because it's literally an additional info about each episode. And have a lot of scenes hat complete scenes that were shown on each episode. This is why it's important and more interesting doing it in order right after each episode. 💜
I think you misunderstood the music shows of Korea 😂😂. It’s not like a show where you perform then automatically get a number of votes that let you know if the audience liked you or not. Each show has a lineup of acts (solo, groups, bands w/ actual instruments) that have recently released music and are on the charts in Korea. There, the acts perform their latest singles for fans and viewers at home. Throughout the show you can vote for which performance you favored BUT at the end of the episode what is tallied is things like, album sales, viewers votes, charting placement, etc to see who wins. So essentially, think of Billboard having its own TV show (like MTV back in the day) where ppl who are high charting on the billboard charts perform, viewers watch live and on TV, vote, and at the end Billboard unveils their Hot 100 for that week, and the #1 group/artist gets a trophy for it 😂😂 Performing on these shows definitely isn’t as stressful as you think they are. What’s stressful is how successful ur album sales are overall, but the performances themselves are probably the best part for idols bc all musicians really just want to perform at the end of the day. (P.S. you only perform on these things after an album drops. The whole point of these shows is to promote their albums by performing their new single.)
I think he thought it was stressful because the norm of promotional performances on shows used to be only a couple of times.. in Kpop though they do this multiple times throughout the promotional period that probably run 4 weeks depending on the album drop not to mention they have to dance almost every performance which isn't really usual for a lot of western artist ... But for kpop Idols is the norm... He ain't use to Kpop industry promotions
I have huge respect for Hitman Bang. I hope he will always remember why he created his own company in the first place (cause he didn´t like how the industry worked at the time) and won´t be corrupted.
I think their debut era gave them a solid start. Their views as artist.Developing good work ethic coming from working with producers and other members themselves.
I'm so glad you're watching this series! It's fantastic. I jump at the chance to watch ever new episode as they're released. And I love that you've approached your journey with BTS this way; with watching all the informational videos before the music. So many people start with the music and get confused and then have to go back to all these informational videos. And I think, as someone who started with their music and then fell into the rabbit hole after, it's actually better for people to do it the way you're doing it. To understand these men as the amazing people they are ahead of time. It think it adds so much more value to everything they've produced when you have all the background information in mind too.
Its the second time i watched this reaction… i love your genuine reactions … from the Philippines 🇵🇭 bts army … cant wait for your next rise of bangtan reaction …. Continue to be authentic saranghe
To give perspective of the Realistic survival rate in the kpop industry:- Out of total of 36 boy groups and 31 girl groups (=284 trainees from various companies) who debuted in 2013, BTS is the only group still active today. This does not include those trainees who never even made it to official debut. As 1 of the smallest companies back then with scant financial resources, Big Hit/BangPD showed incredible risk and fortitude NOT censoring the social themes BTS voiced in their songs; instead they deliberately nurtured creativity and stressed authenticity in the boys' artistic compositions. This was/is shockingly Atypical to most idol kpop music which is generally supposed to be just sexy/fun/cute, i.e. the very last thing to make listeners question society's norms, tradition or the establishments. Despite their classic textbook kpop packaging in surface aesthetics, BTS has always been FAR more than they appear since day 1.
I promise you when I saw that u uploaded this video I was like “Yes!” And ran to make some popcorn .watching ur journey through bts with the mindset you have is so entertaining and I appreciate the time u took out to try and get this uploaded for us
ahh and one more thing. It's cool that you are doing it on a livestream so army can clarify you some things. But you missed couple of things because of reading the chat. If would be a better experience and understanding of the whole idea that the author of this series intended if you would pause the video to read the chat. If you dont mind of course.. :)
Agree. This is impossible when you have to read subtitles and try to follow chat. It's also okay to rewind if you miss something! Why keep going in ignorance?
thank you for this awesome reaction! I really appreciate you take the time and actually want to get to know them! I've seen this documentary many time but I swear I'll watch every single episode with you :)
It was great getting to experience this live with you! Thanks for figuring out how to get it up here so I can share this with my sister! Love being on this journey with you!
For FESTA I went to that Restaruant they ate at in their trainee days when I was in Seoul 2019. That auntie was still there, and so happy to see ARMY. Also, walked their old bighit building... So many are asking "are you here for bangtan?". They were so helpful with directions. The food was really good...wish I could have stayed longer.
💖 Your reaction, Mr Jim. You said that you felt like a protective parents towards them., I felt that way to from your reaction of 'Butter' I always watch RUclipsr do their reaction& always write to them, Listen Without Prejudice. If you don't like them, it's okay. I am old Army& love them for whom they are. I can't wait to teach my students 'Permission to dance' next week after school reopens. See you again with other reaction 😁
Hi! I’m a spaniard 18 year old army and i loved your reaction! Not many people reacting to old school bts content so this is great!! My bias is Namjoon (RM) and my fav album is skool luv affair, i recommend you react to it😊😊. I love and really appreciate and thank you for taking the time to know our boys well and not just react to the mainstream stuff❣️ Also RUN BTS is a variety show that bts has for free every week for the fandom that is actually hilarious. If you want to get to know the members better you could react to “BTS the seven members of bangtan” :)
RM is my bias as well. The first two albums are not my favorite but I love him so much during that period. He was such a young kid and had so many expectations on him as the leader, not only from the band but from the company
Getting this up on YT was a struggle. I apologize for the blocks. Thank you for sticking with me 💜

Seven hearts are for each bts member, one heart is for army and the last heart is for u Jim!
OMG 😃 you did it 😂👍👏👏
Doolset is the place the majority of people will agree is the best place to go for translations.
#ARMYsince2014
It's amazing what a bit of understanding and positive reinforcement can accomplish.
@@JimGames yes!
ty for pointing this out. It's totally easy to see what Aneesa is doing in the chapters to me but many reactors miss her point.
i think its not fair to say that other idols only trained because they had to,it is diminishing their owm wants too, they want to do what they do tok
I'm both a Nightwish and a BTS fan. 🥰🥰🥰 I'm a middle aged white woman metalhead from Australia. There are a lot of metalheads who fell for BTS.
Agree, I'm 43 and I was only into rock music all my life and had no intention on changing that, then BTS found me...
Yep agree.
i'm a 20 year old dutch uni student majoring in history who grew up with and loooves nightwish (and all metal, as well as nearly every version of rock, alternative, classical, etc etc etc) (i even met floor jansen when i was younger and she was still with after forever because my parents knew her haha, i quite literally grew up in that music scene) and i absolutely love BTS. good music is good music and i think metal fans are some of the most appreciating music fans, which is why it's easy to love bts - because their music is just incredible.
Sometimes two years though! Depends on when your birthday falls

I have watched "Rise of Bangtan" several times now but it is best watched with others. I love seeing the reactions of Baby ARMYS as they learn about the Guys. Borrahae 💜🇺🇲
I agree. I been watching this a lot from all different reactors. Gonna see what they think about them.
No not many companies give the artist autonomy. This is what one of the things made BigHit unique.
He stepped down as CEO, he is still the chairman. But, yes he did it so he could do more producing which is his first love.
I totally respect his move, it really shows what is his priority in life...music 💜

Omg thank you for uploading this been patiently waiting for you.

Can't wait for more! I'm here for you in your BTS journey, Jim! (sorry for my English)
Well playing from the basement indie scene does exist in Korea, it's pretty strong really. But the lines between different genres and indie/mainstream are somewhat blurred. It's just a really vivid music scene over there in general
Thank you for uploading this! Hope it wont get taken down again!
I really appreciated how the og video added different pov of the training period, that made it seriously interesting.
Kpop idols are so strong.
Yay, you finally got it to work on RUclips!
it's scary how fate works.
Jin never went to SM at all. He has said it twice in interviews thar he thought the offer was a scam.

I can only imagine how the major labels rob these artists. I'll have to look into it.
For example, SM takes 90% of physical sales profit leaving 10% to artists
For Big Hit
Contract years: 7 years
Physical sales: Agency (50%), Artist (50%)
Physical sales renewed: Agency (30%), Artist (70%)
Events: Agency (50%), Artist (50%)
Overseas promotions: Agency (30%), Artist (70%)
All BTS members renegotiate their contracts 2 years ago and are major shareholders in the company. They're set for life.
I bet idol training is an economy in itself.

Cherry on top of this masterpiece...the creater has a background in film. This project was initially suppose to be like a couple hour film/movie/documentary, but turned into a 16+ episodes docu-series instead. This was her way of showing her friends and family the reasons why Bangtan is so important to her. 💜

Yeah the instrument choices and effects on them are similar to the music of that era and style. It's cool because it's not ripping them off in any way. The sound design just pays homage to the style.

i'd say the general idea with kpop is taking pop music and training it up like it's a sport.
Finally! Been waiting for this to get uploaded, thanks so much! I really enjoy watching your BTS reactions.

So essentially, think of Billboard having its own TV show (like MTV back in the day) where ppl who are high charting on the billboard charts perform, viewers watch live and on TV, vote, and at the end Billboard unveils their Hot 100 for that week, and the #1 group/artist gets a trophy for it 😂😂
Performing on these shows definitely isn’t as stressful as you think they are.
Thank you so much for your reaction video! I really enjoyed it 💜
Omg I'm waiting for this reaction thank you.
Can't wait to see the rest of your reactions! Love hearing your thoughts. 💜
It think it adds so much more value to everything they've produced when you have all the background information in mind too.
yay finally!! i was sad because i missed the live thank you!
YAAAH! “The Rise of BANGTAN” 💥 Thanks for getting to know more abt our BTS! 😉😎
Wow! So happy you’ve finally started on this wonderful series 🥰
Its the second time i watched this reaction… i love your genuine reactions … from the Philippines 🇵🇭 bts army … cant wait for your next rise of bangtan reaction …. Continue to be authentic saranghe
thank u thank u thank u thank u for this 🖤🖤
I appreciate how you react… doing it the right way…..subscribed.
I promise you when I saw that u uploaded this video I was like “Yes!” And ran to make some popcorn .watching ur journey through bts with the mindset you have is so entertaining and I appreciate the time u took out to try and get this uploaded for us
BTS concept during debut made them stand out which helped them I believe. Even if the reponse wasn´t all great at the beginning
I'm sorry you had so much trouble with copyright 😭 thanks so much for uploading this!
ahh and one more thing.
Thank you Jim 🙏🏻
It was great getting to experience this live with you! Thanks for figuring out how to get it up here so I can share this with my sister! Love being on this journey with you!
44:28 yes the second one. (Bah- ng-tan So-n-yo-n-dan)
Don’t worry about mispronouncing, Korean can be very tricky!
i enjoy it till the end your video.. thank you for your time to watch and reaction to this.
The rise of Bangtan 💜 and whole album, wow, excited. Even if this is old and I’ve watched the whole series and know the songs, excited to watch 💜💜
I've watched this series so many times and still enjoy every moment, and enjoying it thru your journey! 💜
Aah I'm a little late to watch this video but I'm so excited 💜💜 :D
For FESTA I went to that Restaruant they ate at in their trainee days when I was in Seoul 2019. That auntie was still there, and so happy to see ARMY. Also, walked their old bighit building... So many are asking "are you here for bangtan?". They were so helpful with directions. The food was really good...wish I could have stayed longer.
Thanks for the video 💜I really enjoy watching your reactions on this journey 😊
I'm enjoying listening to your show while working. Thanks for reacting to BTS.
I love following you on this journey! I'm very excited doing this docu-series with you!
The girl in 1:02:00 isnt one of girls from BLACKPINK. Its probably a trainee from another company
For context : Jimin's problem was a time problem, he joined last and had roughly 9 mins training compared to the other guys w ~2-3 ish years
*9 months not minutes
Looking forward to share this journey with you. Loving your insights.
See you again with other reaction 😁
ah I'm so excited! Somehow you got me as impatient for you to finally hear the music as you got yourself! xD
You worked hard getting this up, I really appreciate it. Love you!!💜
Thank you so much for uploading it here on youtube!! You made my day!!! 💜
Love ppl reacting to this series!!
