In Korean military service, usually it's girl group who got famous. But during BST (Blood, Sweat & Tears) era, it was BTS, who became a sensation even for men in military service. Their dance move (JK part) became a strength standard & the armies told to try that (as a measurement of core strength). I know that BTS with BST can hypnotize ARMY. But I dont know if it can hypnotize the real armies 😅
They have 3 movies, with all three docu-series accompanying those movies. Not to mention Bon Voyage and BTS in the Soop, which are series that follow guys on their travels or in their free time. To see after or during the docu-series, if you look into it one day. BTS Army is heavily criticized by the media, belittled by journalists, used by celebrities seeking attention, but despite that, we stay true to ourselves. Toxic people are everywhere, especially in such big fandom, but usually people don't realize that it's antis that disguise themselves as Armys, solos, agkaes, sasaengs, shippers which are very toxic and not only on the internet, but in real life some go far. But BTS Army, we have created a culture that relays the positive, that wants to make a change, that supports the music and messages of Asian artists who are often victims of unjustified hatred. I'll never forget 2016 MAMA. I was watching the livestream but because of time, I had to go drop off people to school while the Artist Of The Year was going to be announced. In the car, had one person hold my phone with the live stream on. BTS won and I was literally screaming my head off as I was driving. Then I was told they were crying so I was still screaming and getting emotional driving haha. I finally got back home and was still screaming my head off in happiness. As for 2016 MMA, I was crying seeing them cry. I was so proud of them and still proud to this day
I love the shocked look on their face when they won their first Daesang. They legit did not know what to do since they didn’t expect it. I love RM’s strut to the microphone.
The diet thing has changed. We have to understand that this was the way things were and I want to believe that this lead to the Love yourself series. This is for us and for them. To accept the way they are and help us accept and love us the way we are.
Omg i am loving your Journey of getting in to bts. Thank you so much for your kind words aswell for us army toi are now part of the community not 💜 and I can‘t wait to watch the streaming of wings on Twich now
The sad thing is that BTS & Army had an extremely tough time during this period between 2016-17, it was the height of all the hatred and vitriol they received (I was so shocked). So watching them being so surprised at that award shows just how hard Army worked (borahae Army!) and them crying I think might also have been stress relief to some extent. However it didn't stop the attacks. I now also understand the cyphers more because of this. Damn proud of Army back then (thank you Army's) and BTS (Saranghae!) for sticking it out so I and many others could find you. Best Group EVER.
I didn't watch Rise of Bangtan series on my own. I watch it with you. I have seen the clip when they first win Artist of the Year many times but still, it always makes me cry. I am just so happy for them.
Jim! I got excited when you said you are going to post more of your BTS reactions in you tube yey! Thank you. Secondly, yes..BTS MAMA performances are the best (the fact that they put so much effort into an award show performace -2019 and 2020 are my favourites. Yes they literally turn these award shows into their concerts. :) Lastly, even after this rise, the guys still thought of disbanding in 2018 (outro:TEAR is the song that talks about this and their 2018 award speech is something to check out).
I just want to say something on the diet subject. Jimin said he used to eat 1 "proper" meal every 10 days, meaning that 1 meal can be rice with side dishes or any main dishes. During the rest of the time, he would probably eat like an apple or fruits or anything that can be considered as a "snack". He did put a disclaimer afterwards, saying it was extremely dangerous and he would never do that again. A lot of idols result to starving themselves as a method to lose weight as they need to lose weight in a short amount of time. Ailee mentioned that she consumed only 250 calories each day. However, I remember learning that a human body needs at least 700 calories the absolute MINIMUM per day to survive. Ailee went on an extreme starvation diet, resulting in a yo-yo effect where she gained back the weight she lost. In the end, she decided that her mental health was all that matters and stopped caring about what others say. The beauty standard for the Kpop industry is improving VERY slowly, little by little thanks to artists like BTS, MAMAMOO, Ailee, Jessi, and many more. Besides from BTS, who's constantly promoting the importance of mental health, as we all know, MAMAMOO said it flat out that they take care of their own diet and they don't starve themselves. Korea, as a country, however, is still very close minded in terms of minding their own business. Koreans (obviously, I can't speak for all) would go out of their way to "present" themselves better for others or not make decisions that they initially wanted to make solely because others would say things about them, even if that decisions will benefit themselves in many ways. As a developed country, Korea still has a long way to go as their citizens have, many times, voiced their unhappiness living there, referring to the country as "Hell Joseon", cannot get proper mental health care, being under pressure from society, etc. Jim has basically said everything on my mind about what I want to say about judging others and being judged, so I won't repeat that. I just hope baby Kpop fans and/or Koreans can snap out of it and realise that most idols look so underweight in real life and it's actually so unhealthy to follow their unrealistic dietary
8:40 Until now, the guys are very much grounded and well aware of their status. In ep.6 of their docuseries Break The Silence (2020), they discussed about letting go and not having regrets when the time comes as long as it's not "crashing" according to Suga and Jhope. In the docu, Jimin expresses doubt tho that even if their bodies tell them it's time, he might not listen. As expected as dancing is his passion.
watching this ep rly brought me back omg I wish you could have been part of the fandom when this happened bc armys were SO emotional and bts was so emotional and twitter was just flooding with celebration :')))))) the fandom was so full of love and support for the boys and the boys just kept showing their gratitude back ahhhh those reaction videos featured are just the tip of the iceberg
Bts were already getting attention before but they started to sky rocket when they released there wings album especially internationally. Alot of people will tell you that this album was the beginning of bts world wide domination. Many of my favorite songs comes from this album and this is also the time I started to get into them.
*Hey Jim. Actually korean armys already said that the 1 meal every 10 days was a serious miss tranlation. He actually said 1 meal a day, for 10 days. I mean, if it was 1 meal every 10 days he would have ended up in the hospital. No one would survive that.*
Actually, the translation was fine but its meaning was interpreted in different ways. What he literally said was "I only ate one proper (full) meal in 10 days", meaning that he was barely nibbling here and there and only after 10 days (and probably the scolding of Bang P.D. and the doctors) he decided to eat a complete meal. Even nowadays (2023) he does very strict diets before important events; you can easily understand when he's dieting because he talks only about food during his behind the scenes interviews. I'm not surprised though because, like in ballet, you need to be very thin to dance in the way Jimin does, otherwise you could really hurt your leg ligaments. PS: on the other hand, while everybody is still debating today if Jimin said "one meal a day" or "one meal every 10 days", Jungkook candidly admitted that he didn't eat at all for 5 days before recording Butter's video...
I know you weren't going out of your way to speak about body dysmorphia and just sharing your opinions but a lot of what you said rang true and helps to hear. Thank you for that.
They have 3 different documentary series' and accompanying movies that came out in theatres before. You'll be seeing a lot of clips from the first documentary series and movie called "Burn The Stage" in the next few episodes of The Rise of Bangtan showing them on their WINGS world tour. Would really recommend watching them too once you're done with TRoB.
@@SilverFang95 don't be rude dude. He's just starting to learn about loads of stuff about Bangtan. It's LOADS of contents and he's trying to take them all in, it's easy to forget some details. Besides, he also reacts to other artists, not just bts. just cut him some slack pls
@@SilverFang95 cut the guy some slack. He's new to the journey and there is a LOT to take in. Plus he has a team of people putting lists together of what to watch, it's a guided journey. I'm sure he will get there, he can't listen to every person's requests there's not enough time in the day. No need to personally attack him! Try requesting it through other avenues, other social media platforms, doesn't he have a discord? Maybe he takes most requests through there. Calling him names for not jumping at your request is a good way to be ignored. Good luck though, I hope he reacts to what you want. Have a nice evening 💜
**Melon Music Awards (MMA) **Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) **Golden Disk Awards (GDA) **The Fact Music Awards (TMA) These are only a few of the Awards shows but they are some of the biggest. There are many live performances done at these shows by BTS. They really have a talent of turning award shows into their personal concerts. (2014-2021 are some of their best shows.)💜🤗🇺🇲💜
I have tried to get an interest for other kpop band but I can't. I love BTS as they show their raw emotions and personalities even on stage while I feel other groups are more unisone, robotlike in their dancing and lacking personality on stage so I can't get interested. BTS isnt trying to keep up any cool image instead they keep natural. Cry when they are sad or happy and show themselves corky, weak and silly. They are real.
Same here...since became ARMY and then being introduce into the world of Kpop, i tried to listen other groups too but none of them interest me and not to mention other fandoms dragging BTS and almost like wishing BTS downfall, it seriously put me off, i suppose they doing it out of jealousy and insecurity
I’m making a prediction… The waiting music next Sunday before the stream starts is going to be some musical variation of “Lie” 😂 After seeing what Jim and went through in this episode and then hearing his song it really drives home the meaning. I also love begin, awake, and Reflection on that album
I always tried to watch Rise of Bangtan but for some reason couldn't keep watching it alone. I felt like I need someone to watch it with. So tried to watch some reaction videos. Watched episode 1 or 2 with someone else but didn't feel like continuing. Sadly not many reactions of Rise of Bangtan are on RUclips..and most of them are from older reactors so I wasn't that much interested....so it's been difficult for me. But when I saw you were new to BTS, I got interested to watch it with you. You are the one with whom I could watch till this episode. So I'm really grateful and want to say Thank You for reacting.
Dang one thing I recently recognizing is that I really enjoy your honest personal opinions on some topics…thanks for expressing your point of view and trying to understand different cultures as well
Really like your reactions to The Rise of Bangtan, and yeah they're definitely right when they say it only gets better ^^ I've also watched your live on the WINGS' album on twitch and although I love how they give you the context and help you understand the meaning, I find it a little too bad that you are not really given the chance to give your own take on the songs. Like giving your own interpretation of it and explaining what you felt while listening to it. And that's one of the aspects I love about BTS music because, of course, there is a final meaning that fits the project of the album as a whole, but it can also mean so many other things. And BTS themselves have always tried to keep their songs open to interpretation so it kind of spoils the experience. It's really more exciting to understand by yourself or even find another meaning, and maybe read the explanation afterward? That's also what's so interesting about reaction videos, because we don't all understand things the same way, and I've learned so many different ways of thinking thanks to that. I don't want to depreciate the work of those you did the explaining texts though, they did a great job 👌
Although I have watched each episode of The Rise of Bangtan documentary series already but I always look forward to rewatching with you. I'm glad you love the series as much as I do. Thank you for your comments about BTS ARMY. Like any big fandom it's bound to have some bad fans although some of the bad reputations were from fake Army's.
I missed this on Sunday and so I’m glad it was uploaded fairly quickly. I love your reaction to this and I cannot wait until you get to the love yourself series because I think you’ll be very inspired!
I’m enjoying all your Bangtannies reactions Jim. I’m glad that you doing this, thank you. can’t wait fr next episode. Be it before til up to date the Bangtannies always get emotional 🥺. Will always support them from afar 💜
Watching over and over here from the Phil’s 😂 … I really like your reactions it’s authentic and raw and unfiltered continue your love for BTS we are here for you ❤❤
Jim, it speaks to the goodness of your heart that you assume that all people are not feeling good when they judge others and that it doesn’t make them feel good. Bless you for your faith in humanity. I hate to disillusion you, but there are a **lot** of people who do indeed get off on causing hurt and harm, narcissists and sadists among them. I was unfortunate enough to have two narcissists for parents, one of whom was also a sadist and an alcoholic. My mother was self absorbed, shallow, petty, judgey, manipulative and emotionally abusive. But she was easy compared to my father, who was all of the above **and** delighted in causing physical and emotional pain in others just for his own amusement and also often flew into drunken, childish rages. As an empath and a child of narcissists, I am pretty adept at identifying such types now and working to avoid them. But the internet is overly populated with them because they can find a ready supply of narcissistic feeding online with usually zero social consequences. Studies show the level of psychopaths, sociopaths, sadists and narcissists on the internet and social media is far higher than their concentration in the general population, which is too high as it is. I still have faith in most folks having good leaning hearts, but there is, unfortunately, indeed a cross section of the population bigger than most people assume who are not good people.
In 2016, after releasing BST and the Wings album, as a fan since then (actually even way before) who has witnessed everything, it was after they released Wings, BTS was unstoppable and has officially established themselves as royals in the kpop scene. After Blood Sweat and Tears, everything was over, the competition on who's at the top was over because BTS has started to conquer. It was the era and the reason why the Billboard's door opened to them and starting from there, they slowly gain attention and popularity in the West. Wings era was the era that opened a lot of door for BTS' career
The part when talk about the weight I cried because lastly I have been very concerned about my weight and how many calories I eat per day, so, this video make me think heavier about this and make me love me a little more, thank you
❤ your teaction & thank you.As you have seen by 2016, BTS havr made a name for themselves. But still, they are threated badly, when they went to Korean awards show. You have seen this in their hardship video. They was not given any proper room to chsnge& had to use the bathroom&practised in front of it.Other idols still looked down on them.It just sad because they already broken numerous tecords with the song, 'Blood, Sweat&Tears'.😥
The awards they won here is not best new artist, they won those 'new artist' awards at 2013. They won Artist of the Year and Album of the Year in 2016.
For diet thing... it's gotten a lot better. Members have become more confident in the way they look. They still complain about their face being swollen, but while mentioning that they ate jajangmyeon at 4 AM last night... so they are indeed eating enough. They do go on diets sometimes... but I think it's more healthy type like not eating flour or something.
I watching you while doing my make up on for the monday, its not easy 😂😂 Omg I saw this a 100 times and still crying. Thanks Jim,..till next mondaymorning🙏💜
really enjoying your journey. its funny when you say this is going to be THE art album.... cus.... they DID top themselves with each new album kihihihihihi. it is exciting
As Korean-American, beauty standards of Korea is impossible to achieve, even over 30-40 years ago. As a monolid, my own mom used to call me zipper eyes and has told me to get plastic surgery over 30 years ago. Of course, since I was raised here in good ol US, I always snapped back, YOU pay for, I’ll get it! My white step-dad would always tell me I was beautiful and good person just the way I was/am. Fortunately, my mom has improved her mind-set about outer appearances but this attitude still persists, not just in Korea but everywhere.
@@JimGames I hope to be back next week. Love your channel and the community you have made for us. sending love and best wishes to you and your wife. Hope you are both doing well.💜 PS> DW about baldness or grey - men get more distinguished as they age. ... You are very handsome (and your eyes are a gorgeous blue) and you're a really nice person inside too - hair or no hair. 💜If your hair loss is really noticable - just shave your whole head and rock the "bald look", it's what my husband did at the age of 25 (he had early baldness) - he would look weird with hair now!! You have a good face structure for the bald head look especially if you kept the beard!!
Sometimes they don’t even let male idols build muscle or bulk up,because then they’d lose the “boyfriend” image. Things are changing now. Even BTS guys are bulking. Especially JK and RM. Monsta x guys on the other hand build muscle in anyway they want. So things are changing
Most koreans listen to music on Melon app. Spotify, apple music, etc are no competition. So charting #1 on Melon or winning Melon music awards is a big deal.
Body image is a big issue around the world these days. It is not just a physically dangerous thing to be that much critical of they way you look but also mentally. In psychology we have a certain disorder under eating disorders that talks about people who starve to lose weight under the pressure of society. Celebrities almost set the standards in society so it's important for celebrities to be more relaxed towards these topics and for their companies to take a healthier approach to looks. That does not only concern the celebrities as individuals (which is already enough reason to stop the crazy beauty standards) but also for people who follow them or look up to them and collectively the whole society.
did you just mentioned BTS movie? turn out they do have it. Its a documentary series and the behind the scenes of most of their events and activities. They realeased 3 movie starting from 2018-2020 and it was actually a very emotional documentary too. I remember sitting in the cinema crying 🤧🤧 also the 3 movies are: Burn The Stage (2018) Bring The Soul (2019) Break The Silence (2020)
Thanks for your reaction 💖💖💖it so much. Mr Park Jimin tends to do extreme diet. He always fainted because of that, it makes ARMY worries about him a lot.Always sending him encouragement that he's perfect just the way is. The Korean Beauty Standard are so high that they selected Kim Seokjin as handsome and beautiful by 85%. Totally disagree by this. All humans are beautiful💖
they work out to gain muscle and stretch ligaments. Totally different thing from dancing, plus they need to eat healthier, not starve. The reason Jin couldn't gain muscle was because he was eating two small chicken breasts a day! To skinny and to fat are both equal health risks. Korea is nuts on looks. They legit dis on people who aren't stick skinny, white/pale skin, big hit didn't put the guys on diets, they did it to themselves and hid it. poor Jimin got called fat because he still had a baby fat face in the beginning and he starved himself until Jin helped him to stop it. A prefer a healthy looking person. Their faces and hands bloat from the MSG and sodium in ramen and jimin eats it a lot. LOL he is talking about the swelling in his cheeks and under his eyes. also going to the clinic for IV's is a walk in thing in Korea.
Jimin is worried about his appearance because he has been called a pig by antis...with death threats. He is still being called that way to this day. Even Jhope and RM. He doesn't do diets like back in wings era because it wasn't good for his health...even muscle building (it affected him mentally due to pressure).
I don’t know how true reactors could read subtitles AND chat at the same time. Besides chat has a delay. He stops and read the chat when HE wants answers.

Thank you so much for uploading this video.💜 Looking forward for chapter 13 💜 GOD bless and always stay safe🥰💜🥰
He's been told that multiple times. He's either dumb or just doesn't listen to us.
@@SilverFang95 Well it's a lot of information at once and probably slipped his mind.
Great reaction to a fabulous album and I particularly love this episode of RofB, it makes my heart swell ❤
**Melon Music Awards (MMA)
**Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA)
**Golden Disk Awards (GDA)
**The Fact Music Awards (TMA)
These are only a few of the Awards shows but they are some of the biggest. There are many live performances done at these shows by BTS. They really have a talent of turning award shows into their personal concerts. (2014-2021 are some of their best shows.)💜🤗🇺🇲💜
Thank you, thank you so much Jim for doing this. I so love and enjoy this journey with you. 💜💜💜
Speaking of the Art Album, wait till you hear Map of the Soul 7, my personal favourite! Stay safe.
Same here. I have tried but no other groups were able to interest me to watch their MV for even a minute. BTS is just different and natural.
Same
@@bts_is7 Same. I was totally put off by seeing how other fandoms tried to drag BTS down.
I’m making a prediction… The waiting music next Sunday before the stream starts is going to be some musical variation of “Lie” 😂
After seeing what Jim and went through in this episode and then hearing his song it really drives home the meaning.
Dang one thing I recently recognizing is that I really enjoy your honest personal opinions on some topics…thanks for expressing your point of view and trying to understand different cultures as well
Really like your reactions to The Rise of Bangtan, and yeah they're definitely right when they say it only gets better ^^
I've also watched your live on the WINGS' album on twitch and although I love how they give you the context and help you understand the meaning, I find it a little too bad that you are not really given the chance to give your own take on the songs.
I could always read the context after I do each song.
I've been binge watching your reactions love love love it.
I just love your reaction videos. This the first time I have watched these.bso I'm enjoying them with you. Love BTS!!!!!
Watching over and over here from the Phil’s 😂 … I really like your reactions it’s authentic and raw and unfiltered continue your love for BTS we are here for you ❤❤
omg, it's officially starting, the BTS universe. Hang on tight, It's gonna be a wild ride.
yes when they were on the top that they got scared if from there it is downhill is so humbling.they had real fears and anxieties.
The part when talk about the weight I cried because lastly I have been very concerned about my weight and how many calories I eat per day, so, this video make me think heavier about this and make me love me a little more, thank you
You said 'mask' talking about your own insecurity... remember this word, it is going to be very important theme for a later album series.
Sempre me emociono quando lembro de tudo que eles passaram no início 🥺 hoje me enche de orgulho ver onde chegaram 💜
Movies....more like a docu-series...were released in theaters. They were amazing!! 💜
I wait to watch this with you 😆 it's torturous...
I know what you mean. I'm excited all week.
Wings is a very special album to me. Might be my favorite. The concept, the songs, the messages, the production is just ART.
💜💜💜
Wings was the first album I bought of theirs.
I love BTS so much💜💜💜
I watching you while doing my make up on for the monday, its not easy 😂😂
Omg I saw this a 100 times and still crying.
Thanks Jim,..till next mondaymorning🙏💜
really enjoying your journey. its funny when you say this is going to be THE art album.... cus.... they DID top themselves with each new album kihihihihihi. it is exciting
Wings will make you fly to heaven. 😊
Melon is their AMAs. Melon is a korean music chart. MAMA is even bigger so it's like Billboard.
I missed the live today 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
we missed you :(
@@JimGames I hope to be back next week. Love your channel and the community you have made for us. sending love and best wishes to you and your wife. Hope you are both doing well.💜
PS> DW about baldness or grey - men get more distinguished as they age.
Ok, I’m going back to Team Wings album. 😭😭😭
The Melon's Grand Prize award is like winning a grammy for best artist in US.
They're afraid...because, if BTS is no more...they fear to break apart as friends and brothers. It's the relationship they fear to part.
sssheeesshh I'm crying! T_T
There is a BTS movie. It's called Burn the Stage: the Movie.
did you just mentioned BTS movie? turn out they do have it. Its a documentary series and the behind the scenes of most of their events and activities. They realeased 3 movie starting from 2018-2020 and it was actually a very emotional documentary too. I remember sitting in the cinema crying 🤧🤧
also the 3 movies are:
Burn The Stage (2018)
Bring The Soul (2019)
Break The Silence (2020)
Hi Jim.. will you make a QnA video? 😁
I do think a movie about BTS will be made in Korea but not for years.
You need to watch the 2019 MMA performance. It is the best live performance ever!!!! Some even say better than Michael Jackson.
-did you get to watch the music video for “boy meets evil”
Yes I did! It was beautiful!
@@JimGames -honestly boy meets evil is the perfect intro to the wings album and it complements blood sweat and tears so well.
they work out to gain muscle and stretch ligaments.
Just a question Jim - Can we rewatch your live streams on twitch too since I am never able to catch up to your live stream due to diff time zone 😅
You can! You have to subscribe on Twitch. Or on Patreon.
@@pamtan1711 Oh thanks. Twitch is cheaper for me. Can I get all his reactions on twitch or just the livestreams?
@@smritipradhan1035 yeah all livestreams on Twitch for 14 days I think. Patreon has exclusive content too. Like AHL.
So he just avoids reading live comments...good to know.
I'm kinda doing stuff lol
He can’t be looking at the live comments all the time, he has to actually read the captions when watching the video.
@@eveyy_xo He can when he pauses the video or even at the end.
I don’t know how true reactors could read subtitles AND chat at the same time. Besides chat has a delay. He stops and read the chat when HE wants answers.
@@SilverFang95 As much as I would love to chill with chat, I am excited to get back to the episode. However, I could spend some time chatting at the end of the video. Maybe I could ask others what they thought.
