Yes the rebate on the hinge side is bigger than normal, the old original door jamb runs out at the bottom as well, so it was tricky to get it any closer.
No , perf59 is not referring to the internal width of the rebate , perf59 is referring to the gap between the end of the seal and the door jam on the hinge side when the door was closed, which by eye was close to 10mm gap 5:23
I should have pointed out that there is another plant on the outside of the old jamb where a security door was originally fitted. If I was to take the seal all the way across and behind this the outside of the seal would get caught and cause the flap to close prematurely. Most jambs would not have this issue. Thanks for taking the time to check it out, hope it helps!
This video is so good and helpful. Thank you. I do/did have trouble placing the screws in the exactly right position and don't understand the oddly shaped slots. Washers would have been more helpful.?
? You stated at 3:05 that what you'll have to do - is "lift it off" (and then you proceeded to NOT lift it off) ? Hello - wouldn't it simply be a LOT easier to actually (yes) lift it off, and separate the two metal pieces. That way - all you have left is the thinner upper metal section with it's (now) easy to see "fixing hole/slots. Simply and easily drill and screw in the fixing screws, then reassemble the other metal (flapper) section & it's spring, to the upper fixed section.. Bingo - way simpler than trying to hold both sections with limited visibility under the flap itself..
If he doesn't talk fast enough - reset the play speed from 1:1 anywhere from 1/4 increase to double at 2:1 and that way - you'll get the chipmunk speech at super speed..
Hahaha - oh yes the FIXED SWEEP suggestion - perfect for those doors that do NOT have a perfectly flat inner section of flooring inside the doorway - or where maybe thick carpet is actually higher than the doorstep itself, (or in my case an inclined floor itself and carpet - which makes the doorway gap - NILL at 85 degrees open. A sweep is utterly useless for anything where the GAP is inconsistent - rendering the door unopenable if used. A lift-up "clears" all inside flooring obstructions.
Obviously wouldn't occur to you but the reason why we tune in is the most unobvious to you - which side does it go. ??!! Word of advice.. Show how the finished thingy works & THEN go to step one. 2nd advice - Go back to car detailing.
How thick are you? Obviously it has to be on the outside so the seal can be pushed close by the round bit of plastic on the doorframe. Also, this is a great demonstration, I’d like to see you try. Which side of the door pfffffttt
Try UPSIDE (as in upside down) - as that'll work 4U - as it'll wipe nothing as it can't reach the roof (upside down that is) I mean really - U that thick .. asking which side - hell yeah - (FFS)...
Very well explained. Short and sweet. Thank you for the illustration.
Again it's sebastiano , looks like a great product
Can this be used to stop water from coming under door?
Bought this and have no experience in handy things but I did it anyways thank you
Where do you buy seal in Toronto Ontario and exactly what is the name of the company that sells it and exactly what is the seal called
Thank you so much for this helpful video! My back is feeling it now though lol
This is exactly what you need to know . Very good, thank you..
Thanks, your welcome 🤗
Nice how to video , although it looked like more than 2.5mm gap on the hinge side ?

Thank you! I think the slots allow for future adjustments if needed.
What size drill bit were you using for the pre-drilling?
What about along the edges. There's still a gap where it's not sealed?
exactly what I was suspecting lol
If you mean the gap at the ends of the seal he should have bought a longer one and removed some the stop material on the door frame.
thanks for posting the video, it is great help.
No problem, glad I could help.
Where did I get the weather shield
?

Do you know where to purchase this? When I went Bunnings, there was many Raven products. Which specific one is this?

Bloomberg. Hahahahaha.
Could you talk any faster?
I could try 😆
🤣

Seems odd to me. Why do you need it to pop up? Just install a fixed sweep.

The man is clearly standing outside in the video, no need to insult him
