- This time I will show you how to fix a faulty cable on a Wii Sensor Bar. If you ever experience that your Wiimote connects to your Wii, but there is no pointer, than this might be the solution for you.

Thank you for this. Here's a neat trick to help hold cables with the alligator clamps; put some shrink cable over the alligator jaws. Shrink to size and they will not damage your delicate cables again!
thanks for the video, you can also solder the
wires together if the break is in the middle. I just did it and used some heat shrink tubing and it worked like a charm.
Awesome tip. Thank you. :)
Lucky to get it working! Those wires are insulated with a coating.
Help i just got a nee senso bar and for some reason when i connect it to my wii its not working vut my wii mote does work help plzzz
If you bought it new, I would just return it.
Hey, nice video, do you know how much current the sensor bar is drawing? I wanna cut the wire and solder it to a usb cable to use on a PC
I do not, unfortunately. However, that sounds like a cool project you need to upload a video of! :D
@@Vigerp I did the surgery a couple of hours after I commented. It didn't work with 5 LEDs on each side, so I removed one from each side and soldered the contact points between 2 consecutive LEDs. Now the required voltage is somewhere above 5.5V. The USB ports, however, are limited to 5V. The LEDs do work now but are dimmer than when run at rated voltage. It does the job though, it might have added some jitter to the pointer. I haven't used it on a regular Wii in over 8 years, so can't really compare from memory.
I have a broken main cable that turns on the dot on the wii red... When i plug it in the dot doesnt light on...it was chewed on by a rabbit...Is there any fix for that?
There is actually.
If the cable is chewed or otherwise damaged, you would need to remove the damaged piece. In order to do that you would need to cut the cord on both sides of the damage. Then strip the two wire ends to expose the metal. You would then need to connect the two pieces of cable together by twisting the metal threads to eachother. Black to black and white to white. For the cleanest result, you should solder the wires together and use a heatsink tubing to cover the exposed wires. You can also use electrical wire connectors, then wrap the whole thing in electrical tape. It won't be pretty, but it'll work.
@@Vigerp ah yes Ive done that before with other thing but the damaged part is right next to the thing that you plug in. There is no space left to cut.
@@exeralight3585 In that case, you need to find another plug. :/
@@Vigerp Welp. Thank you anyway! Have a nice day!
Everything is plugged in right...But not the dot to my Wii doesn't come on and it says "NO SIGNAL"
I feel like I would break it if I did the same thing
When my sensor bar was *broken* , my dad/mum brought me a Wii U Sensor Bar. I had a wii, so it doesnt work
They meant well...
U should have used candles
good job in the end!
Thank you. :)
Is there anyway to play wii games without a sensor bar?
No, you cant gp through the wii menu
Yes you can use 2 candles.
I bought a new one and it still doesn’t work.
The problem is probably the controler then
Mine quit working after I attached a new wrist strap...I had the rubber on wrong lol. Simple fix
*Or you could just buy a new one.*
Or that... :p
We dont want to wait or use money for this
Cool Ludwig
They about 2 bucks at Walmart...
My sensor bar randomly started working:)
Candles... Much Easier
Nice
Sorry for the dislike, you might try having less wasted time in your videos, and maybe take an alliteration class or two
No reason to apologize. You are not the first to comment that I tend to wander off topic in my videos. I take it as constructive criticism. =)
Although, an alliterative anecdote appears abortive as an academic approach. ;)
