I loved it too. But I respect people who didn't like it as much because it had a few flaws that could definitely get on people's nerves. But again, I thought it was great.
Docking scene is a clear demonstration of why you should always have your centrifuge on a separate part to your docks. Matching angular velocity is hard, not to mention that you can only dock on the axis.
Hey Dennis. I recently found the mod "MinAmbience" which lets you increase a flat amount of min ambient light. It's awesome for video making because it not just makes black grey like if you had done it in post production. Great video none the less! PS. I once got a copyright issue with the Apollo launch sequence sound because some guy took it (public domain) and included it in his song which got than fed into googles content id. It took 2 months for google to unflag my video :/ Just in case you have a similar case :) *Lukas
Ivan Lovell I think in reality they would simply use an inner and an outer shell which would rotate in opposite directions cancling the centripetal forces out. You of course had to match the inner and the outer weight to each other using fluids or something. Like this you can spin and stop the craft only by using electricity and also still maneuver your vehicle. A neat side effect would be the coils arround the station which would act like a giant linear motor could produce a magnetic field arround the station protecting it from solar radiation,

u sir r an amazing person. the music to intersteller gets me ever time the theorys are so mysirical yet so realistic and the relitivity theory its like woooooooo
9:19 You demonstrated a flaw in the movie beautifully, but you cut away and did what the movie should have done. When the lander engines fire the endurance would just flip end over end and continue falling. Firing the endurance engines instead picks the craft back up into orbit.
James Baxter Sure, if they could gimbal like 60 degrees, which they dont appear to do or be capable of. The lander's rear thrusters are only for forward thrust in atmo and orbit and they dont look like they could gimbal more than a few degrees. I think its a simple animation mistake in the film. The only way the endurance could lift its orbit out of the atmosphere would be to thrust straight up, lift apo with brute force until clear of atmo.
+Ben Pitts Well it did have downwards facing engines, and with a smart robot like TARS the math could've been figured out of how to get correct force direction.
Damn son how'd you pull that docking off, I mea. Maintaining a spinning speed whilst keeping a level orbit with endurance and going up perfectly to then dock, and no mechjeb, amazing
